Ghosts of Bleu Mountain

Rate this book
Louis goes to check on the family estate he just inherited from his still living grandfather. He soon discovers that the people of Perdita are split due to a long-time feud, and his Bleu last name puts him right in the middle of it. Half the town believes his Great-Grandfather killed his wife, Jane, about sixty years ago and wants Louis gone. The other half believes Simon Bleu was innocent. While rummaging through the rundown estate, Louis finds antique spectacles that allow him to see images from the past. Now, it is his mission to uncover the truth behind the disappearance of Great-Grandma Jane and save the estate from being taken away by an angry mayor and town full of hate.

a speculative tale about spectacles and a spectacular location

Why wait till you’re dead before gifting your heirs?

When Louis is gifted the Bleu Mountain estate, he has a decision to make: sell it or live in it. It is a hard choice because of all the family connections as well as a painful family mystery: his Great Grandma Jane disappeared there and half the town thinks they are a family of murderers.

But there’s another side to the story, and another side to the town, and another side to the family… and a very attractive real estate agent. There’s also a mysterious pair of spectacles that help Louis uncover the ghosts of the past and the hidden truths.

Overall, a well written story with slow-burn low-key romance, well drawn characters, hints of spooky fantasy, and a mine of hidden clues to discover.

A quick read for mystery lovers who like a hint of fantasy and a touch of romance.
