As bad as all four books are individually, the author has taken it upon himself to bundle them together into a boxset... or omnibus edition. I never thought it would happen, but here is the best of the best... or worst, plucked from the author's monthly Discombobulated Newsletters . Keep On Keeping On - Ed. (The author's unpaid, long-suffering Editor... and apparently, blurb writer, now.)
Reply from the Author - Simon Northouse Thanks for that, Ed. Next time, don't sugar-coat it. Tell potential readers what you really think. I asked you to write a blurb, not a 1-star review! The cheque I haven't written, nor signed, will not be in the post. Catch you at 5:30 pm next Friday in the Pickled Flange... your shout! I'll take over the blurb from here... buffoon!
"Hello, potential readers! Four books in one for the price of one - that is quadtabulous! If you want a bit of a laugh about giraffes, zebras, Romans, team-bonding, robots, billionaires and my diary of the lockdown blues, then you are in the right place. All proceeds will be generously donated to the author's bank account. We all need to do our bit for charity. Okay, I'm done. Time for a nice glass of white wine in my shed."
Keep On Keeping On! Simon
This boxset/omnibus edition contains the following Keep On Keeping On Keep Karma and Carry On Lockdown Diary Blues Carry On Rewardless
Simon Northouse writes books that entertain. His stories include hefty doses of self-deprecating satire, ironic farce and droll bathos delivered in a deadpan Yorkshire voice.
However, as many of his fans have pointed out, there is much, much more to his books than laughter.
He touches on social issues that have plagued humans since the first man pointed at a woman on the back of a woolly mammoth and shouted, "Oi, love, come down from there. That's a man's job!" Racism, misogyny, sexism, elitism, classism, anxiety, self-doubt and entitlement are just a sprinkling of issues that intersperse his works.
He’s also big on love, mateship, truth and loyalty and their darker flip sides. Yes, there is humour, bonding, ridiculous situations and tender touching moments of true feeling that live alongside each other on the page. His philosophy is simple, entertain!
Oh, and lastly, Simon Northouse is not a New York Times or USA Today bestselling author. He has yet to be nominated for the Booker Prize or Miles Franklin Award and he is still waiting on a call from the Nobel Foundation—the clock is ticking, people.
He is the author of the Soul Love, The Shooting Star and School Days series. He also puts out a cracking monthly newsletter which you can find by just typing, "Discombobulated Newsletter" into your web search engine—I kid you not! You can sign up here: http://www.snorthouse.com/home-page/n...
The premise of these books looked good but I'm afraid to say there's no humour of any standing unless your under 10 or 8 .I've read some bad books but this is near the top of the list for the worst ever written. I would have put 0 stars if I could have .
