So many things to love about this beautiful story! The whimsical, detailed illustrations drew me in from the start, and then Humphrey (cutest name!) and his devotion for his best friend are so endearing. Also, I have to admit that I just love that it's a friendship between a such disparately sized animals. HAVE YOU SEEN MOUSE is a wonderful way to open a discussion with children of any age about what a true friendship can be.

This sweet picture book about friendship will tug at your heartstrings. When Humphry, a brown bear, discovers that his best friend, Mouse, has moved, he is determined to find him. He asks everyone in the community if they've seen Mouse, but no one has. Where did he go? Why did he move? Humphry's search leaves him exhausted and sad. But when a strange sound wakes him up the next morning, he discovers something extra special. The author/illustrator shows Humphry's journey of confusion, loss, and eventual relief via a lovely, soft color palette with delightful details. A winner indeed!

An enchanting story about a fabulous friendship and all the feelings we feel when friends move away. I really love how the days of the weeks are incorporated in the story. The last line of the story is great and shows the depth of bear and mouse's friendship. A story that can be read and re-read over and over again. Sure to become a favourite.

The line, "I don't know, but I will find him," is everything in this book. This year, my first grader struggled when a friend in class moved away, and I felt all of those emotions for her again when reading this book about a dear friend that moves away and the bear left behind, determined to find a dear friend.
The illustrations in this story are lovely, too. Love the fun twist at the end, but no spoilers!

Can I just say that I want to live in this forest? This is such a sweet and heartwarming friendship story. I love Humphry’s determination to find his friend and how we learn about the things they do together from each of the individual characters we meet. The ending is cute and unexpected and the illustrations are so beautiful and charming.

Have You Seen Mouse? is a lovely story of friendship. When Humphrey, a bear, worries his friend, Mouse, has moved away, he immediately sets off to find him. It's a clever story that reveals Humphrey jumping to the wrong conclusions when he is overwhelmed by feelings of loss. I loved the ending. After returning home to bed forlorn, Humphrey awakens the next morning to the sound of hammering--a subtle enough hint to get readers hoping that maybe, just maybe, Humphrey was getting a new neighbor!

This is a charming story about a bear's devotion to his friend and how hard he works to find him. Kids will love the surprising, sweet ending -- proof that good friends always stay close. I particularly enjoyed the illustrations, the cozy cottage and all those cute animals wearing clothes (bear in suspenders!). Kids will, too.

Humphry the bear made ten granola bars for his best friend Mouse. But, Mouse is nowhere to be found. Humphry checks with all their friends only to find that Mouse has built a new home closer to his. The charming illustrations add great depth to the story and show nice details that could be discussed with a class of children or a child at home. The endearing friendship between these friends is destined to become a classic. I plan to purchase it for my grandchildren.

Sad but determined, Humphry asks his friends and looks high and low to find Mouse. Mouse does turn up, but in a surprising manner. I just love Humphrey the bear. He was so determined to find his missing Mouse friend. Tugged at my heart strings! I also loved how he carried Mouse's bunny with him as he hunted for Mouse. I think kids and adults alike will love this sweet little story which, by the way, is beautifully illustrated. Highly recommend!

First of all, it's hard not to love a story with animals wearing clothes. But that's just the beginning. From there, the story becomes a true page-turner as you follow bear in his search for mouse. The illustrations feel classic, giving the story a timeless appeal. With its overarching message of friendship, Have You Seen Mouse? will appeal to any age reader. Beverly Love Warren's illustrations are warm and bright and the attention to detail draws the reader's eyes to notice new discoveries with each read. Our hearts went on the journey with Humphrey as he searched for his friend Mouse. The illustrations were gorgeous and it has a lovely surprise ending that makes you feel good inside every time as you'll definitely want to read it again and again.
