Max Porter #15

Southern Dead

Rate this book
Old Crimes, New Pains

For Max and the gang, the idea that dead is not the end has become second nature. But the idea that a ghost who has moved on could be ripped back into the world? That is new.

And terrifying.

When a woman hires the Porter Agency to help with this very problem, she doesn’t know half of what she’s roping them into. Now, it is up to Max, Sandra, and Drummond to find who is behind this atrocity and stop them. Plus, there’s a spirit to return to the Beyond, a missing girl who might have been murdered, and a possible murderer who happens to be the new client.

Just another day for the Porters.

I’ve been a fan of these books for a while now, and that love continues to grow. In this latest, Max and Sandra are on a new case, and something’s bothering Drummond. Old enemies, new friends, and strong magic are on the menu as they all race towards fixing a wrong, and something nice grows out of the evilness of this latest. I have been upfront about my sort of dislike of Sandra, but she really grew on me in this latest. There was an interesting development at this end of this, and I’m very intrigued at where this will take us in the future. Current fans will love this one; new fans can start here, but I recommend starting from the beginning of the series to understand everything. Well-written, paranormal noir at its finest. Highly recommend.

I honestly would love to spend time in Stuart Jaffe's mind to figure out how he manages to come up with new, complex and yet exciting story lines for a genre that I thought I'd read every possible scenario on. He still manages to hook and keep you interested until the last page even though it's 15 books in! Each story still as exciting and unique as the last one. The brotherhood is back and they are out for blood, not just from the witches but from the Porters and they will leave no stone stone unturned for their revenge, literally! There's not a single dull moment from start to end, but don't just take my word for it, read for yourself, enjoy! Thank me later😉

Max Porter series

I absolutely love this series! The characters work so well in telling the stories. Mr. Jaffa has created an amazing read, especially creating around known true buildings and history. Thank you, so much, for these characters that become friends then family. I look forward to the next journey.

Pretty green rock, or should I call it painful?

Max worrying about money, Sandra studying, the boys being teens, mother worrying them all, and Drummond trying to cheer them up. And then magic wiggles in too.

Max Porter book 15

Wow, fantastic. Stuart Jaffa keeps on giving. Ghosts, witches, evil curses and spells. These go round and round in his books. Good against evil will survive every time. Keep them coming Stuart.
