Fantasy Premier League has over 9 million players worldwide and the number is growing each year. With practically endless combinations of players for your squad, the decisions you make each week will determine your success globally and in your mini-leagues.

This book will show you everything you should be doing before the season begins, how to set up your squad to make the best possible start and all the tips and tricks to make sure your season stays on the right track.

It explores the different playing styles of FPL managers and the psychology behind decision-making processes, including common traps to avoid. With an emphasis on enjoying the game, this book helps managers regulate negative emotions and make clear, logical decisions even when things are not going to plan.

Matt Whelan is an FPL veteran, having played the game for nearly two decades. Over the course of his 18 years playing the game, he has uncovered the tactics and habits which transcend multiple playing styles and has discovered that self-discipline and patience are crucial to a good finish.

A present from the wife for Christmas. She has to listen to me every weekend discuss FPL tactics and ups and downs of the game. Most memorable moment was finishing in the top 84k in the world 2022/23 season.

I agree with you, the mini leagues with my mates are much more enjoyable than chasing global rank status.

This was bought for me as a Secret Santa present as I'm well known in the office for my FPL obsession. It was the perfect gift. Great book for newcomers to FPL or those who may have been playing for a few years. Lots of helpful tips and guides to the different strategies. Clear and well set out, with sections on pre-season planning, transfers, chip strategy and playing styles. The section on pre-season planning is particularly useful and I'll be reading this part again before next season to hopefully give me a head start. Lots of useful information for beginners, but the many anecdotes and stories of the author's own experiences with FPL keep the reader thoroughly entertained throughout. Highly recommended!

This is the first book about FPL I’ve read. I set my mind free from anything and start to fill with the ideas and experience of the author. I learnt a lot and ready to be better manager soon. Thanks for the thought and ideas.

It contains useful information, but spends about 50% of the book on the psychological aspect of the game. I was hoping an in depth analysis using objective statistical data rather than high level ideas.

Overall though has some pretty valid points.

A good overview of the ins and outs of FPL. Perfect reading for someone with not so much experience in FPL, although not too insightful for the seasoned FPL player. Still a good read, though!

The most important that i ignore when i play fpl back then is to ‘enjoy the game’. This book gives me different perspective.
