DOUGHBOYZ: A Ruben Kane exclusive
Am I the only one seeing these police officers walking around like the doughboys? I blame the ones who hired these guys. If you don’t believe me watch a police formation, see the bellies sticking out there? No wonder so many are getting shot in the back; the guys with these bellies couldn’t catch them if they tried.
There is no law saying a cop shouldn’t look like a slob in their uniforms, but there should be.
To me, a doughboy is this small cartoon-looking guy overweight with a potbelly walking down the street, utility belt hanging off his hip, ready to fall off. Remind you of these young kids walking around with their pants hanging off their behind. The same cops try to advise the kids how to wear their clothes.
They may fall back on their age, but that’s just BS. For years, the military has had a rule; you are out of there when you get too old and fat.
To tell you the truth, I shame for them. Every time I see a doughboy on the street, I just shake my head.
