It was the story of a cow, Number 569, who saved her farmer from drowning in the raging torrent that swept through their farm. That farmer, Kim Riley, has now written this story for children. Aimed at children aged 3-7, this is a great story based on a true situation and set in the rural heartland of New Zealand.

About the author

Kim Riley is an experienced farmer and writer of children’s books. Riley was inadvertently rescued from drowning by Cow 569 during a flood in the Manawatu and her first book was based on this colorful experience. At the time of the rescue, Cow 569 was pregnant, and the calf, Tuggy Buoy, became the inspiration for Riley’s second book.
