This is the fifth and final book in the Texas Redemption Series. This was an emotional book that takes you high and low. Dr Amber Crawford is a workaholic and always putting other's first. She concentrates on building her legacy and making her mother proud. She had her heart broken in college by the hunky Tony Sykes and has no interest in going down that path again. Well it's ten years later and she falls for his charms only to have her heart broken for a second time. This time she's definitely sworn off men and Tony in particular. But caring as she is she agrees to help him when he begs her after his career was destroyed. Did this humble him and make him realize that a career was not all he lost? Was his good girl able to tame the bad boy? Did the bad boy realize what he gave up twice? Is Amber able to forgive him, redeem him and give their love a third chance? This was a great book that will take definitely take you on an emotional spin. It was well written and the characters were well developed. I read an arc via Booksprout and voluntarily chose to review it.

Troy Sykes and Amber Crawford dated all through his last year of college at El Paso, Texas. He did not invite her to his graduation, but Amber went anyway. After it was over she waited outside for him. When he came out with his family, he did not seem to happy to see her. He took Amber to the side to tell her, he was moving to California early, and they needed to break up. Amber never thought she would see him again, but nine years later back in El Paso, she was now Dr. Amber Crawford packing groceries in her SUV with marathon racers coming down the street who should she among them but Troy Sykes. He even had to stop and talk to her. Things went from bad to worse from there. He decided he wanted her back. He was relentless, until he got what wanted then dropped her again, but what Amber did not know was his life was falling apart. He was working for a law firm that said he had to win his first three cases with them. The third case turned into a nightmare case, and he lost. He even ended up in jail, and the law firm partners won a judgment against him for nine hundred million dollars leaving him broke and without a job. No one would hire him. He did not know what to do. The only person, he could turn to was Amber. He was always afraid of turning out like his father only to discover he was just like his father resulting in a miniature breakdown. This time someone else called Amber in to help. What she found was astonishing. Would his revelations cause him to change his good ways of was it just another of his games? This was an amazing story, and Amber should be a Saint for all that she put up with from Troy. He acted like a spoiled brat most of the time, which really did not match with the back story of how poor he was raised.

I didn’t like Troy for most of this story. He was arrogant, self-centered, and looked down on those he thought were beneath him. I was surprised at the last because he grew up with a single mother struggling to make ends meet, so he knew what it was like to need a helping hand. He treats Amber awfully breaking up with her twice without warning. The second time was worst because he wooed her and convinced her to give him another chance. An obstetrician Amber regularly volunteers her time at a low income clinic and cares deeply for her patients. She helps Troy out and gives him numerous second chances in this book. I would say Troy was humbled and changed his ways when he lost everything, but even then he was still arrogant, not understanding why Amber was mad at him after he rudely broke up with her when she needed him and then later asks her bail him out of jail. It made me wonder if he would ever change his ways. This was a clean romance with plenty of humor and drama.

After Amber unexpectedly got asked out by her narcissistic ex-boyfriend Troy out, she knew it could not end well. So when the second break up came around, she decided to cut him out of her life. Unfortunately, as Troy’s career and personal life broke down, Amber is the one whom he called each time and who, being compassionate, not only answered but found ways to help him get his life back on track…
Unfortunately, Troy’s kind behavior towards Amber reminded me of a few couples I met. But unlike Troy, the guys never did see “the light”, and it completely broke the persons they were with. The way the plot is woven, how Troy finally recognized how hurtful and egoistical his conduct had been was very touching. I found this story very encouraging and beautiful. I wish you to enjoy this book as much as I did as you discover how Troy works on himself to become a better man.

Troy is an arrogant, selfish, entitled defense attorney who moves back home to Texas from LA. Talk about troubles, boy the might do fall hard. Troy who dated Amber while in college sees her and wants her as his arm candy. But what comes next is the start of his mighty fall and then some. Amber is a very compassionate person and doctor. She works her normal job then volunteers at a low income clinic with her best friend. The things she goes through with and for Troy are beyond what normal people would deal with. Billionaire Troy to much much less to what becomes a brand new person all because Am helped him out. Emotional and humorous.

Back in college Amber and Troy were dating and she thought it was serious until he broke up with her without an explanation. Years later she is a doctor back in their hometown and he is a lawyer living in California. He returns and runs into Amber and wants to rekindle their relationship and after he does everything he can to change her mind she gives in only for his career to get him very busy and he breaks up with her again and not only does her career go down the drain so does his life. Amber being the sweet person she is decides to help him after he has hit rock bottom making him change for the better. Sweet romance with really great characters.

A clean and enjoyable romance. The story line flows smoothly, is well written and holds your attention the moment you start reading. The characters are fun, engaging, easy to get to know and you feel like you've been in each other's lives for years. You may feel like your emotions have gone on a roller coaster ride but trust me, it's worth it.

A great story on how friends can be great and how they can turn on you in a heartbeat. It also shows how you can be yourself and be friends to people who are on the sidelines waiting to see how you will act and how you will turn out after the faults have all been cleared up. First I just want to say that I REALLY wanted to smack Troy. He was definitely NOT my idea of a male protagonist! The author did a fantastic job of bringing out such emotions in me for this character. I would highly recommend this to anyone as it was a clean romance.

This ended up being a really good book. I did not like Troy at all. Amber seemed to be so gullible. I had to change my mind about both by the end. The only advice I can give you is to read it yourself and decide if it is worth the read.
