After the IPL got suspended due to COVID, all the cricket fans are missing the entertainment and the thrill of watching a live cricket match, I could never imagine a book providing a solution to this but then I came across this unique book - It's only live once and it truly changed my perspective.
Witness a live cricket match, a one day international between England and India, enjoy the commentary and the thrill as this book gives you the pleasure of watching a live cricket match even during COVID times.
I loved the approach of the author behind writing this book, he created a system by assigning a cricket value to each alphabet and then used a novel to write the story making it unpredictable and natural.
It's only live once is gripping and entertaining and all the cricket fans will highly enjoy reading it.

Do cricket takes your heart beat away? Do you love cricket more than anything else? Well, if you're an indian your love for cricket is for sure. Let's explore the love of your cricket in a very interesting way.
This book records a live match between India and England where both the teams have come up with their strongest and most experienced team members. India and England both are playing hard but who will win is something that takes my heart beat away.
As I said the book is a record which means it feels more like you are watching the entire match siting in the stadium. The cheers among audience, the hotness of the match, the tension of every run increases and gives you an unbeatable reading experience or should I say watching experience.
With every page and every line you feel like you're watching the match live. I would recommend this book to everyone who love cricket and sports. You can't find a better book than this.

Being undoubtedly the most loved sport in our country, Cricket needs no introduction.
Every individual, despite their age, right from a child to an adult has their own personal thoughts about this sport.
Though, I agree that not everyone will be interested in the sport, but the craze of it is so much that even those who are not fans or followers of this sport will be having a sufficient knowledge about it.
Although, I must say that in a country where Cricket is being followed like a religion, its quite difficult and hard to not be an avid fan of the sport. So, when I came across the book, ‘‘It's Only Live Once’’ by Ishan Kamdar, I didn’t even give it a second thought before grabbing it.
The book doesn't disappoint at all and is written in a very intriguing way which is bound to keep the readers entertained throughout. Extra care has been taken by the author to design it in a way with which the younger generation would be able to connect with. We have fresh commentary about the ongoing match that's happening from the commentators and also have tweets by the support groups. Some of the tweets were pretty fun, as if we could sense actual bickering between the twitteratis.
Having watched numerous Cricket matches on TV, reading about it in a book was definitely quite an interesting prospect for me. I feel that this fresh approach about writing about a sport rather than viewing it was somewhat unique.
The only other book which I have read about Cricket would be Sachin Tendulkar’s autobiography, but then it was more about the happenings of how the events shaped up, so its fair to say that this book is One of A Kind as nothing similar, atleast to my knowledge, has been attempted before.
For this, I am going to give this book FIVE LIVE STARS ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

So the match started, and it was thrilling till the last moment, so who won the match? To know that, go and collect your copy now!
The writing style is entertaining and I was immersed completely in certain parts. The author kept the language simple and the commentary style narration goes so smooth and engaging. The emotions from the viewer's point while watching their favorite team playing a serious game are so beautifully portrayed. The title is thoughtful and well inclined with the content. No doubt, it is a well-crafted book but needs improvement in the area of briefing the writings. This book best suits cricket lovers and missed to draw the general audience's attention. I must congratulate the author for his unique attempt. I'll recommend this book to cricket enthusiasts, also fictional readers can give it a shot.

It's a written form of one of the most loved sport in the world. This sport was famously known as the gentleman's game in pre independence India, yes it's cricket.
But the plot is based on a match of England vs India in a One Day International.
From the England's side, William “Billy” Barnes is in lead. plus it's his first time after the retirement of Andy Bird.
India is shining with the global cricketing superstars like Captain Sharma, IPL winning Kumar and swing legend Azer Khan and their die hard fans.
And as the match begins who will win?
Is it England or India.
Well the plot is well paced and beautifully penned down by the author. There's even mention of the Home of Cricket, Lords. This is definitely a great read for the cricket lovers. The description of the match and all the elements related to cricket are awesome.
Just like you can enjoy the tension and enjoyment of a match sitting in front of a television, you can enjoy the same feeling by reading this one too.

Though cricket is not the National game of India but cricket runs in the veins of Indians as if we blood. Now if you also the kind of person who has more cricket and less blood in your body, let's take you through this book.
The book is about the one-day international cricket match between India and England. While you read the book, you will feel as if you are watching a live match with the details of how every single ball hits the bat and score runs.
England launches their hardest player and the situation gets hot but wait! I India wouldn't let them win this easily. India also comes up with their best players and the hotness of the matches increases.
The book is a super pack of entertainment for sport and cricket lovers. I had a great time while reading this pack of one-day live cricket matches.

India versus England 3 match ODI series is about to take place. India has a fresh side, straight from all the enthusiasm that was IPL. The team is ready to take on England at their home ground but are the English players steady enough with new captain?
This book is for those who love the game so much. We must have seen plenty of movies inspired by various sports, even Cricket but how many books have we read that are based on the sports we love so much to watch? I love sports romance and even though this is a romance fiction, I enjoyed the pace and action and the thrill that reverberated through the pages of my kindle.
A good entertainment.

"Nothing is easy in cricket. Maybe when you watch it on TV, it looks easy. But it is not. You have to use your brain and time the ball."
- Rohit Sharma
A great majority of you must have watched a live cricket match on television or the grounds but have you ever 'READ' a live cricket match? If you are intrigued enough then "It's Only Live Once" by Ishan Kamdar will be a good option for you.
Packed with all the real-time entertainment and ongoings, this book takes you through the ball-by-ball account of a One Day International between India and England from the very comfort of your reading space.
With the commentators reporting every bit of the live-action and the Twitterati going crazy in the tweets, this book tries to give the reader a complete experience of a live cricket match.
Now, let me get this straight if you are someone who is not really well versed with the rules of the game or the field settings and all, then this is not a book for you. I really appreciate the fact that the author has mentioned the same at the very beginning of the book and made it quite clear.
Now for me, since I have been following cricket since my childhood and am a big fan of the game, I enjoyed reading the book. It was a bit difficult getting into the whole action and picturing it in the beginning but with time I was able to follow the proceedings. It's true that nothing can match the excitement of watching a live game of cricket, but I would like to appreciate the author's efforts in thinking about and penning down this unusual piece of writing.
Also, a few editing and printing mistakes could have been tended to.
P.S - The proceeds of this book will go to the Kamdar Foundation charity, which supports underprivileged children’s education in the UK, India and East Africa.

Book Title: It's only live once
Author: Ishan Kamdar
Format: Kindle
Book Title:
The book's title is exciting and enigmatic. Only after a quick at the cover page and the blurb once can understand the intent.
Book Cover:
The book's cover image has the cricket ball, cricket wickets and a pigeon with a stadium in the background.
My review:
Cricket is a religion in India. Yes! Every cricket lover will accept this. Everyone has their own favourite cricketers too! Ishan Kamdar's book can be considered a gift to all those cricket lovers who now miss live matches due to pandemic. Though all watch the cricket matches that happened in the past, the happiness and the excitement one feels during a live game is unexplainable. In this regards, author Ishan gave his readers a book where live match happens verbally.
The rules, the commentary, the rivalries, the reactions, the emotions and the exciting encounters between the teams is well described. This book is for every cricket lover!
What I like:
1. It is all about cricket
2. The excitement and the interest is sustained well
3. The intriguing cricket encounters
What I didn't like:
There is nothing to dislike, but the book is strictly for people who enjoy the reading concept of playing cricket!
Characters:
The characters that author Ishan created for the story obviously reflect the famous superstars of the cricket game. One can relate to their favourite cricketers. The best part is, these characters are universal apart from the names. Almost every cricketer has had great innings during their reign. This book is almost like a tribute to their outstanding work and a salute to their sportsmanship. The names Captain Sharma, Kumar, Khan etc. are so incredibly used that they remind us of many stalwarts.
Narration:
This is as good as a cricket commentary that we usually witness while watching a cricket game live! The excitement, the suspense and the thrill factor that author Ishan maintained throughout the book are incredibly appreciable.
Language & Grammar:
An excellent, elegant and straightforward language is used. The technical terms of the cricket game are also used. The book cricket that we can coin is exciting and captivating. A true cricket lover will enjoy the jargons and the names used in the book.
My Final Verdict:
Strictly for cricket lovers!

•The author made every effort to allow readers to experience the excitement, thrill, and inventiveness of the sport without having to participate in it or watch it live.
•The plot revolves around a one-day international cricket match between India and England. The twistof the game is that England's former captain, Andy Bird, has retired, and the new captain, William "Billy" Barnes, is making his maiden appearance as captain, England welcomes red-hot Indian limited-overs squad, coming off an IPL season. India's team shines brightly with international cricketing superstars like Captain Sharma, IPL Kumar, and swing ace Azer Khan. The first of three One-Day International series will be played at Lord's Cricket Ground. Read this BOOK of CRICKET, get updates for every minute during the match and get immersed in the game.

I always had plans on attending a live cricket match but due to covid i wonder when will that happen😐💁 but reading this book helped me to live a live match to a great extent and I'd recommend this book to the ones that are missing cricket matches especially the commentary part..
.
.
I liked watching IPL and always browse through twitter during matches , following trending hashtags to see those tweets, memes and thoughts of people on particular player or over or the match...
Commentary is a vital part of any cricket match...
A perfect book for cricket lovers... The author has put in efforts to make a novice cricket enthusiast understand the nuances of the cricket matches ...
Fresh out of IPL , best players of Indian team lined up against equally competent England's team at One day international series... Who is going to win??
More importantly this book is different from others because the end is not important... It's the journey through the pages over by over ... The commentary that takes you from first over till the last explaining the terminologies, the tweets in between, news flashes... It's very easy to just visualize the whole match and feel as if you were watching it in a stadium... I particular liked the inclusion of Middlesex for a character and the female spinner..
There are strong characters like Sonia, barnes, sharma... I could describe about them..
But again the book is less about characters and more about the live experience of watching a cricket in one's imagination...
It's a great book for cricket fans and a good book for a reader... It was a fab journey to go through and relive cricket live match experience...

It's a great book for cricket fans and a good book for a reader... It was a fab journey to go through and relive cricket live match experience...

It's Only Live Once by Ishan Kamdar is something written in love with Cricket. The book is an emotion entangled with one of the exciting sport in India. A Memorandum to legendary moments of cricket.
For the first time since Andy Bird's retirement, England is led by William "Billy" Barnes, and they face a red-hot Indian limited-overs team fresh off an IPL season. The first of three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) in a busy English cricket summer arrives from Lords, the Home of Cricket, and promises to be a cracker. India will bring a slew of global cricketing superstars, including Captain Sharma, IPL winner Kumar, and swing hero Azer Khan, as well as plenty of star power among their travelling supporters.
Will Barnes be able to coax the best performance from legspinner Sonia to get them down? Or, in this type of game, would the Indian pedigree be too much of an advantage?
Book Cricket allows you to watch all of the action unfold from the comfort of your armchair. While reading the chapters, the author's vibrant and lively explanation made the match more exciting and enjoyable. The concept is fresh. I specifically like to mention the witty gameplay the author proposes at the beginning I enjoyed it too much.
As the name suggests the book is specifically for Cricket lovers and admirer as they will truly experience the thrill while reading this book. If you a cricket enthusiast then this book is just for you.

Book : Its only live once
Version : Kindle
Author : Ishan Kamdar
Well, I belong to a country where Cricket is a religion that we follow vigilantly without fail. Even during pandemic the main source of entertainment for majority of Indians were the cricket matches of different formats.
Title : The title made me curious to find out what is going to be live in this book. What will be told live for the readers?
Cover page : The cover page is of emotional value for many Indians. It is simple and straight to the concept of the book.
Content : The content is a very experimented one. I have read many of the books where readers feel interactive , but this one stands tall amongst these books. This book indeed is a description of a match that is assumed live between India and England. You have some big names playing on both the sides. The match and the atmosphere at Lord’s ( yes , the mecca of cricket is the place where this is happening) is electrifying. The commentoray makes us feel like we are watching something live ( like mentioned above)
The narration is gripping. The spell of the match is depicted and described well. Definitely readers glue to the book till the last page.
This is one wonderful try for a book. I am amazed to read this.
Well ,then who wins the match?
Who scores the highest ?
Do read this live book to know more about the most interesting match.

It's only live once is a sports fiction written by Ishan Kamdar. This book is based on a one day international cricket match between India and England. Both the teams have their best of the players of the ground, every ball and over is described in the book. It's is like reading the commentary of a cricket match. Now, the story is all about who will win or what will happen when these two teams go against each other.
The cover page of the book is great with a sports background picture which is perfect based in the theme of the book. The title is kind of appropriate for the book. Cricket is something on which people make bonds, in India we take our game very seriously. It is a kind of different book, I've never read book like this.
But I enjoyed the book because I love cricket. The language of the book is perfect and the narration is done in a lucid manner. I love the scenic description present in the book because it makes you understand every bit like you're watching a cricket match. All the players and the characters are portrayed very well because you can see resemblence of these people in your mind.
It is a fast pace book with thrill and excitement because match has its own emotions and turns. The plot is great because you read the book in one go, it is not that long book. The result is always interesting and unpredictable. I like the book it is an entertaining read for me. I'll recommend this book to all the sports or cricket enthusiast people.

🏏First glance at the book, I didn't know what to expect from the book, but by the turning pages I realised the book interests me and I was excited to read it further. This is entirely based upon "Cricket", and the book cover justifies it as well.
🏏The story is set in London in the beautiful cricketing Summer of England, a high voltage viewer attaching series between a well balanced strong Indian team & England team lead by a new captain. The plot revolves around William Barnes taking charge of England for the first time after Andy Bird's retirement. The match between India and England is to be conducted.
❓❓Now the question is, Who won- India or England?
🏏Everything is so detailed and descriptive that one can visualize things happening. I absolutely loved how the story flow. Also, the language he has used to elaborate stuff is lucid, hence easily understandable. The beginning was a bit slow but it was smooth and steady in the end so you can say it's a engaging yet medium paced book. The author's idea of writing this book is quite unique, out of the box actually and the way he carried everything is just impeccable.
🏏To all the cricket lovers, What are your waiting for? Get hands on this book. To be honest, I am not a huge cricket fan, but still I loved this book. So, cricket fan or not.. You'll enjoy it thoroughly!

It's Only Live Once
When you read the word "sport" which is the one that comes to your mind first ?
If it is Cricket then yay! You are just like the 2 million other Indians who are hardcore cricket fans!
Now, what is the major reason behind your love for cricket? If it is listening to the fast-paced commentary during the match, then this book is just for YOU!
Because 'It's Only Live Once' by Ishan Kamdar is a book where you "read" cricket!
Packed with intense action and intriguing scenes, this book takes us through the ball-to-ball action of a One Day International between India and England.
The author has put his sincere efforts to take us through this exhilirating journey and will keep you amazed till the end of the book.
Since I have an above average knowledge about cricket, I could read and enjoy this book, so pick it up only if you like cricket!
I really appreciate the author who had given this very disclaimer at the beginning of the book.
Frames&Pages Verdict - It is a fresh idea so kudos to the author for that, however at some parts of the book it was slow. Overall a decent read.

This is such a unique and amazing concept to write about a cricket match. Actually not just the match, it is a live livid and very descriptive tale of the same.
This book is a treat for all cricket lovers which for a fact I know there are a lot. However, if you are not one this book is not for you but you can give it a shot for just the rush of it.
The book is about a match between India and England. William “Billy” Barnes takes charge of England for the first time since the retirement of Andy Bird, and England welcomes a red hot Indian limited-overs team, fresh off an IPL season. India arrives with a host of global cricketing superstars in Captain Sharma, IPL winning Kumar and swing legend Azer Khan, along with plenty of stardust in their travelling fans. Will Barnes be able to get the best out of legspinner Sonia to take them down? Or will the Indian pedigree in this form of the game be too much of an advantage?
Experience all the action play out using Book Cricket, from the comfort of your armchair across radio, the internet and social media. It’s cricket... and it’s only live once.
👉It was amazing to read this unique book. Kudos to the author's imagination to think of such an unusual concept and writing it with such perfection.

If there is one thing that unites us Indians with no doubt it would be cricket. Anytime there is cricket season people get together share food and have a fun time. During a time like this it is hard for us to get the same experience as the one from old times. Author Ishan Kamdar brings is "Its Only Live Once" as a memento for those times. It is, so we can get the same experience and thrill while reading this book.
Written in the form of live commentary the story is very refreshing as it gives the feeling of being in the actual place itself.
After the retirement of Andy Bird the England team is led by William Barnes. This time their opponent are the moment and fresh off an IPL season. India brings a plethora of international cricketing celebrities, including Captain Sharma,IPL winner Kumar, and swing legend Azer Khan, as well as a lot of support towards their stardom. Will Barnes be able to convince legspinner Sonia in order to bring them down?
A tale of thrilling journey.

This book is very unique and must read for a cricket lover, it brings in a lot of pleasure by giving you the feeling of actually being in the stadium. The author, quite glamorously weaves a complete story of the one day International cricket between India and England while carefully setting the stage and giving the live ball-by-ball updates and it continues to give cricket fans a truly rich live-match experience just by sitting at home. I found the reading become exhilarating at some points as there was so much pressure building up and it was so tense.
This book proves to me that the game of cricket is not that simple. It's not just about bat hitting the ball or ball hitting the stumps. Whatever I say would not be enough about the graphic and evocative description of the match given by the writer. It was almost like I was watching the match with the eyes of my mind. Commentary and sports-writing is difficult - how not to overstate the obvious without avoiding it altogether, how to add valuable insights for the viewer/reader. This book has done it well. I would recommend this book to people who love cricket or sports in general.

It's Only Live Once
By Ishan Kamdar
The book is a thrilling sketch of the cricket series with respect to the memories of the childhood experiences especially concerned with cricket and its subtleties. The plot is a revelation of author's love for cricket, friendships, passion for the game and connection with everything it has to offer to be metaphorically comparable with life.
The book is an epitome of creativity especially when it gave so many fun facts lucidly. The hardships and struggles are heartwarming in nature and one cannot the escape the emotional pampering of the book. I am not a die hard cricket fan, but yes I learnt a lot of stuff and eventually after reading this book, I started to admire this game with a different perspective.
Although the book is edited prolifically but at a few places, the dots do not match up and it takes a bit of time to indulge in the story. But yes, after a few pages, the reader would definitely enjoy the methodical world the author has to offer.
P.S. It is a highly recommended book for the cricket fans and I'm very sure that the reader would appreciate the intricacies!

It's only live once review
This book is primarily about cricket and was written by the write in a swift way. The author has gone into such detail about cricket and offered so many observations that a reader can easily picture a cricket match. When discussing the complexities of this game, the writing style is fantastic. The first three ODI cricket matches have been mentioned by the author.
It will take you on a thrilling journey full of thrills. Most of us enjoy the sport of cricket, and the author is no exception.
After Andy Bird's resignation, William Barnes takes over the charge of England for the first time. The first of three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) between England and India will be played. Can England achieve triumph over India? Can India get the triumph? To know more about it you have to read it!
It's admirable of the author to think of and write down such a special and undeveloped concept. The narration was flawless, making the reading experience very engaging. It's something I'd suggest to any cricket fan. The title is appropriate and important to the plot, and the book's cover is simply stunning.

⭐ My Rating - 4.8/5⭐
The book " It's only live once" is definitely a different kind of book written by Ishan Kamdar.
This book is based on the most favourite sports of Indians - "Cricket" and I also personally admire this sport.
The plot of the book is about a one day International cricket match between India and England. This match is held at London.
Author narrates the match inch by inch, ball by ball in an explicit manner leaving no room for confusion which includes a lot of characters. It seems like watching a live cricket match on Tv while reading this book. He describes even about the live commentary and tweets displayed. It indeed made the reading process engaging till the very end. No one could definitely lose patience and interest while reading.
The Book cover looks quite simple and the title is an unique selection for this story. The way of explaining the match was extraordinary and lucid. The length of the story was moderate and it was actually fast paced till the end. Overall this was a very good read and I would recommend this book to all cricket lovers out ter!
