This cute and colorful board book introduces Latin American holidays and celebrations. The book consists mostly of vocabulary words in two languages. This can be a great inspiration for further investigation into some of the foods and traditions, such as why is New Year's celebrated with breaking an egg in water, and a walk around the block carrying luggage?

Seriously.

I want to know.

Thanks to NetGalley and duopress for the read.

Wow, this book goes far beyond "baby's first words." There are, indeed, "tons of palabras" to learn. Some of the fruits and vegetables are not common in US groceries, so this book offers a good learning opportunity about the variety of fresh foods. The sweets, beverages, dishes, and snacks offer cultural introduction to Spanish-speaking countries.
