Oh, the Humanity and Other Good Intentions

These largely sane plays feature people alone or in pairs, or both, attempting to present themselves in the best light, or ultimately, desperately, in any light. Inadvertently vulnerable, or unconsciously callous, or both, the characters here realize they are stuck in a body and try to put the best face on it.

I truly wish I could give this zero stars. It was a colossal waste of time. It just felt like 60 pages of someone trying tirelessly to convince me of their intelligence ... and not a single page of it worked. I don't know where the conflict is ... or the humanity ... God forbid! It is the theatrical equivalent to navel-gazing and I'm not interested, thank you very much.

"Oh, the Humanity and Other Good Intentions" is made up of five short one-act plays by one of America's most gifted playwrights, Will Eno. If you enjoy his word play and insights, you will devour this collection in one sitting and be thankful you did.

I'm not really sure what to think about this collection of plays. I enjoyed the read, but I'm not sure how they'll play in an theatrical situation. I may read again.
