A wonderful little book that introduces you to the many secrets that lie within the area of Sussex. Bought it for a project that will take place in East Sussex and it has certainly served its purpose—the many locations that the book showcases are mysterious and full of mythos, with stories ranging from the very mundane to the peculiar and bizarre.

It is also a very enjoyable and light read that feels particularly relevant when one lives in a world that disconnects us more and more from our surroundings. Books like this help to keep oneself grounded, staring in awe at what was before, the stories that remain, and acknowledge the past that’s embedded in the present.

Interesting little book with some lovely pictures and anecdotes of out of the way archaeological remains and ruins in Sussex, but I found it hard to follow as the book didn't seem to be organised in any particular way. It might have been easier had it had some order, whether historical, geographical or alphabetical. Maybe it had, but I couldn't discern it.
