The Heat of Christmas
Maverick Gold and Theodore Perez are a newly-minted couple experiencing all the thrills of a new relationship, heightened by the magic infused in the holiday season.
It’s a season Theo doesn’t always look forward to, but this year change is in the air. Theo is invited to a holiday party being thrown by Stonewall Investigations that promised a murder mystery mixed with tons of Christmas cheer.
He decides to go and brings Maverick with him. There, they find that one of them has been assigned as the Secret Santa Slayer and so the hunt begins. Maverick and Theo have a shot at figuring it out, they just need to keep their hands off each other for longer than three minutes at a time.
…They might need a Christmas miracle after all.

More thoughts in this vlog.
I went into this looking for fun holiday vibes to beat the heat, and honestly it definitely delivered. It was the perfect mix of smut and trying to play this fun holiday themed game of assassin. Does part of me wish it was a little longer, maybe. But for what it was I really didn't have many complaints, and as a piece of short fiction it was able to deliver on the fun of a holiday romance in a bit size package.

THE HEAT OF CHRISTMAS is a super steamy short crossover. Here we have one of Stonewall Miami's men, super-hot Cuban detective Theo Perez, and his date, the oldest Gold brother, Maverick.
As they attend Stonewall Christmas party and look for clues in a fun investigation, what they mostly find is any opportunity and any place to steal a moment for themselves to be together and let their sizzling chemistry free.
Max Walker is one of my favourite authors and I have read all of his books, and I’m excited whenever a new story is released, so it was totally worth for me to re-read the expanded version of this short story which was previously released in a Christmas collection last year.
As they attend Stonewall Christmas party and look for clues in a fun investigation, what they mostly find is any opportunity and any place to steal a moment for themselves to be together and let their sizzling chemistry free.

This is a super cute and sweet Christmas short for Stonewall’s detective, Theo, and the eldest Gold brother, Mav. These two have some lovely swoonworthy moments, and find every opportunity to put their sizzling chemistry to good use. To top it off, there is a nice and cosy Christmas investigation - all fun and no danger. I loved this short story; perfect for fans who want to revisit these characters!

Really cute!
I remembered reading this before and realized it’s a slightly longer version of a short story from last year. I loved revisiting all the detectives and this was a cute little Christmas investigation with no real danger…lol!!

This is such a great Christmas story. This is a story I have before but it has been expanded. I love seeing all the characters in this world. It such acute little Christmas story and a great addition to this world.
