Ever wonder what would happen if someone from the generation raised on dystopian books grew up and wrote one of their own? That's what is delivered in this book. Though still a novice author, Ethan Marek already has a distinct voice in his writing. While reading Tolerance one can see where the author pulled inspiration from Hunger Games as well as from his own upbringing in Minnesota. Going beyond just another dystopian book Tolerance delves into topics such as mental health and sexuality in the view of a different civilization. The book also showcases a variety of romantic and platonic relationships between characters, giving it a more authentic feel. Overall an enjoyable read.
