he book "In the Kingdom of Shadows" offers a thrilling and imaginative story set in the kingdom of Idaza, where the protagonist Mikalla is a talented Conjurer and the nation's beloved storyteller. The author does an excellent job of creating a vivid and detailed world, with the city's ceremonial flame playing a central role in the story.
However, the plot takes a dark turn as death looms around every corner and addiction plagues the kingdom's king. The tension and suspense build throughout the book, keeping readers on the edge of their seats until the very end.

This book definitely was not what I expected. The premise on its own was interesting, especially in this day and age of where governments all over the world use news and media as a way to manipulate the masses into doing what they want. But with how it was presented, I was not expecting the very violent scenes that popped up at vital points in the story. I'm a sucker for character-driven stories and the prose was magnificent. Definitely a book I would want my future kids to read when they're of age, but that will probably be middle or high school at the very least.

This is the second book of the series 'Stories of Shadow and Flame,' and this book is as remarkable as the previous one. I already appreciated how much I liked the previous book and how excited I was to read this one, and I am glad to say that this book did not disappoint me one bit. It has more suspense and thriller elements compared to the previous one, as in the previous book, the author was merely introducing us to the characters. However, I strongly recommend that you read the previous book first. One of the major reasons I liked this book so much is that the author examines a man's struggle to decide whether to submit to power or stand up for the truth, which is one of the most crucial decisions one has to make in their life. It is a very descriptive book, so you will not have a hard time imagining the story; you will feel like you are a part of their world.
Mikalla, who is a courtier with a beautiful family and is also favored by King Oro, uses the shadows cast by the city's ceremonial flame to thread the people together. I like how the author starts the book by introducing Mikalla and his power, the introduction of a conjurer, and the kingdom and it's people. A perfect, beautiful, calm set up for the storm that'll come soon.
Even though it's a short one, the author done remarkable job weaving this captivating tale, of how the king wants to use Mikalla for his own purpose and how Mikalla gets out of it.

As someone who reads the more romantisy titles I was suspicious. When first meeting the author thoughts were “great, another who will sell why their story is perfection. Providing reasonings as to why it will be the best one I have ever read”. I was so mistaken, not only promoting his work but encouraging my own. Which I believe to grasped as something similar to The Conjurer or a familiar title 1984, we have our MMC Mikalla to whom I thought at first was narcissistic but instead was passionate not only in his work but others. Another tribute to every character introduced after is pulled in separate directions, keeping me on my toes thinking one is misunderstood to just be surprised that they actually are genuinely cold hearted. The final act is definitely what kept the novel in my hands after the heartache and betrayal, the MMC acted of his own accord and still shared the truth. Not going to lie I was tempted to give a 4 star for ending my main man however, that’s what it means share the truth and stand up for what’s right. “Beware the stories you are told” and thank you Nick Oliveri for a telling not through rose colored lenses.

The Conjurer by Nick Oliveri is a fiction of fantasy genre which is the second book the Shadow and Flame series.
I have not read the first book so I naturally assumed that I will face some problems while reading this one, but contrary to that assumption, the story flowed easily and it was all very clear and concise, so in my opinion, this book can be read as a standalone.
The plot, which is based in the kingdom of Idaza follows the kingdom at a time where the King is challenging a nearby kingdom for war and ultimately starting a political charade.
The plot in my opinion is a satirical take on the happenings in today's world where it very skillfully calls out the schemes where the idea of war is sold to the common people and many political agendas.
Really enjoyed reading this one.

A great work of fiction,the author's imagination made the book a highly engaging and entertaining read. The plot along with the presentation of the story altogether with the character development made it a wonderfully penned and amazingly narrated read.

The whole story is about Mikalla. He is recognized as the Chief Storyteller of his Nation. Mikalla lived a normal life. And in between the scene, there is twist and turns. One day everything turned upside down. Everything in this plot was unexplainable, the characters, the epic storytelling, fight scenes, moral teachings, highs, and suspense were unpredictable.
Every character in the story is developed well and has been given equal importance throughout the story. The author did great work and I appreciate the method used. I suggest all of them for such a unique experience.

I have not read the first part of this series and directly read this second part, but honestly, I never faced difficulty in understanding the storyline at any point of time.

The king entrusts Mikalla with a mission which will put him in danger. Many wish ill of this master conjurer and are scheming to hurt him. Will the conjurer be able to fulfil his mission? Will he be able to make the right choices? How this will affect the kingdom of Idaza and the conjurer himself? To know the answers, you will have to read this captivating story which will keep you engaged till the very end. The author has done a marvellous job of weaving this intricate tale with a lot of interesting characters. The story is full of twists and turns and there is an element of mystery and intrigue at every turn. The conjurer by Nick Oliveri takes you into a wonderful world. It's called Idaza, and the conjurer there is Mikalla, who makes use of the city's ceremonial flame to captivate and entertain. However, is everything perfect behind the grand scene? There's this King Oro, who controls Mikalla's life. Oro commands him to deliver a deadly message that would eventually lead to war. Will the loyal Mikalla obey Oro's orders?
I liked the way the author captivated the readers' attention and brought in the beauty of the grand place Idaza. The twists and turns are great, and the spotlight is given to Mikalla and his actions. If you're a fan of mystery and fantasy, then you will enjoy reading this.

A consuming blend of action packed Fantasy tale, with fast paced writing style The conjurer was an adventurous read.
I didn't know where Nick Oliveri would take the story next, and as the story naturally unfolded as I was stupified.
I loved the way the author gradually revealed all the secrets layer after layer, setting the stage perfectly , I have a affinity toward fantasy that made it even more mesmerizing. Author brings us a meaningful and adventurous tale filled with exciting, funny and courageous moments that will touch your heart. The whole theme of story telling honing shadow cast, Mikalla's journey was seriously intriguing.
It was nothing short of wild fast paced adventure, that I devoured in one sitting,All in all, I would say I had a hard time putting this book down till the end and that conclusion was exciting and impacting.
