Bethany grew up in the South, transplanted to the West, and has visited just about anywhere in between. She’s got a day job, and a family, and at night she writes.
Her favorite author is Stephen King, and she owes more than she can explain to Supernatural. No matter the medium, storytelling has held her in thrall for decades. She enjoys travelling down the road of the macabre, but mainly in order to discover the beauty hiding within the human spirit when it is pushed beyond normal boundaries. We face the monsters on the page so we can face the darkness within ourselves, and come out the other side of them both as changed people.
Fantastic second installment of a thrilling trilogy. You will laugh, cry, cheer for the characters you have come to love, and if you are intense as I am curse the author's name and your own stupid decisions of not planning ahead and having to wait 16 hours to start the third book. The addiction to this series and it's exploration into both the good and the bad of human existence is real
Book 2 of the Reclamation series is even better then the 1st! I love watching all the characters grow, especially Adelaide! Lots of twists and turns! I absolutely loved this book!
I was already obsessed with the characters in book one, but the twists, shocks, and raw emotion in this one.... WOW! Couldn't put it down, and I need more again!
This sequel was everything I hoped it would be. The continued character development, along with just the right amount of action, made it an absolute page turner.
Addy stepped into the cool building, one hand held above her head. Data’s nails clicked on the floor as they walked in.
“You can lower your hands,” Matt said, pulling the door closed. It whooshed, latching into place. “Bulletproof glass.” He knocked on the window in the door. “You’ll be safe here.”
Data slipped on the glossy floor, jerking Addy down with him.
Somehow, she kept her footing in this shiny, citrus-smelling hallway. Reaching down to scratch his ear as he regained his feet, she glanced around. Looked like it might have been a school once. “Tell me, Matt, who are you?”
He stepped closer and removed his cap. With the shadow off his face, he appeared older. Closer to her age than she’d thought, bright blue eyes peeked from beneath dark brows. “I’m afraid I can’t really tell you that right now. But if you’ll follow me and my men,” he said, pointing to two men behind him, “we can get down to some questions I have for you.”
Glancing behind her, she eyed her brother.
His complexion back to normal, he nodded. “What could it hurt, Addy?”
She snorted, nodding to the group. “Watch your asses. I’ll see you soon.”
Matt’s men took her friends and Mike and led them down the hall. Sunlight bounced off the waxed linoleum floor and into her eyes as she tracked them. They disappeared into a room halfway down. She turned back to Matt.
He smiled, lines ingrained on either side of his lips like a pair of parentheses framing his mouth. He held a hand toward the room behind her. “After you.”
