Rate this book
This artist songbook is designed for singers and instrumentalists who want to perform and study classic pop and rock repertoire with authentic arrangements. It is ideal for adult learners, students, teachers, and lifelong fans who enjoy playing and singing well known material at home, in lessons, or in small performance settings. The balanced difficulty level makes it suitable for confident beginners moving into intermediate study.

This collection brings together forty three songs arranged for piano, vocal, and guitar. Each selection includes a clear vocal melody, supportive piano accompaniment, complete lyrics, chord symbols, and guitar chord diagrams. In addition to the music, the book features a detailed discography and written notes about the songs, offering valuable context directly from the band members and deepening musical understanding.

The arrangements help build confidence and technique by encouraging coordination between singing and accompaniment. They improve rhythm, reading, and performance skills through consistent work with recognizable song structures and harmonies. Familiar material motivates regular practice while supporting expressive phrasing and stylistic accuracy. This makes the book a dependable music teacher resource and an engaging way for players to expand their repertoire across piano, guitar, and voice.

Up until 2011 or 2012, Musicnotes has made it so convenient, albeit expensive, for me to locate my favorite songs. But prior to Musicnotes, I used to scour book bins, usually relegated to the obscure, innermost corner bookstores, bookshops, and musical equipment stores for the songs I loved in my childhood. And there's nothing quite like nostalgia to fuel determination. Which is how I'd occasionally end up with serendipitous rewards like this.

* I can't recall for sure where I found this, but it may have been from the RJ Music Store. The songs are mostly in their original key, something I used to put a premium on, back when I played keyboard (and couldn't transpose) with some guys in a band in high school.
