Аня и Маня
Каждое лето детский сад уезжал на дачу. Летние домики, голубые с белым, стояли среди леса, за высоким зелёным забором...
Аня и Маня очень разные, и внешне, и по характеру. Но это не мешает им дружить. Они ходят в один детский сад и вместе узнают много нового об окружающем мире. Например, как устроен муравейник? Бесконечны ли числа? Что едят в лесу ежи? Почему месяц бывает круглый, а бывает половиночкой? За те дни, что детский сад проводит на даче, происходят необыкновенные события: Аня и Маня знакомятся с огромным говорящим Ежом, узнают историю старого Шкафа, летают при свете Месяца и спорят, бывают ли коровы песочного цвета.

And yet again I've had a magical time with this one and loved it even more! :)

I wish this story were much longer. Nonetheless, it's always fun to yet again be part of these little girls' night magical adventures and a pleasure to look at Gennadiy Epishin's magical illustrations!

Волшебная история. Волшебные иллюстрации Епишина. 💗
This illustration of the girls and the Moon is the one that more vividly seared itself into my brain and helped me eventually to find this book! I recently came across an image by a different illustrator that rang a bell (two little girls and the half-moon by Leonid Gamartz) and made me think that I, at long last, might have found my long lost book without a name! :)
I was 10 years old when I found this book in the attic of the house my parents were renting. Its cover, the first page and the last one were missing. I have no idea who it was written by, and what the name of the title was I could only guess...
I've tried searching for it since and couldn't find it. I didn't remember the names of the characters or where the story was taking place but I did remember part of the plot. A tiny bit actually - two little girls having fun while taking their walks at night, and one of those nights them meeting the Moon lying in the grass. And that was all... :D
I so loved their fun adventures and always them having a cozy place to return to.
That copy wasn't mine (obviously :) so I couldn't take it with me, and it was out of print for quite some time - and that probably was the reason my searches kept giving negative results... Until just recently! Yay!
And yet again I've had a magical time with this one and loved it even more! :)
