I had to give this an extra star for the maps which were numerous and spectacular and went above and beyond what even serious academic books include. Especially good maps of the provinces and of national parks and protected areas.
The book itself is good for young readers (for anyone else this simplifies way too many things) with only a couple of errors. (The famous Cyrus was not Cyrus I but Cyrus II but that’s pretty minor.)
It’s a 2008 publication so that’s the only other issue for kids trying to keep up with current affairs. Still, this was a keeper for basic info for kids and the maps.
