Welcome to the world of Sir Henry’s Haunted Trail. Where you never know what, or who, is lurking in the darkness… Based on the iconic Central Florida haunted attraction created by Zach Glaros, author Amanda Rosenblatt brings this chilling universe to like. With contributions esteemed horror writer Brad Acevedo, prepare for gripping tales of mystery, betrayal, and salvation.
For a fan of Sir Henry’s Haunted Trails, a local haunt event in Plant City, Florida this book is a must read! There is so much information about characters you would never know without reading. On the other hand, those interested in a quick horror read would find comfort in the character arcs and plot points centered around the icons of the event.
Though the plot was well planned out, the writing style maybe wasn’t the best book I have ever read. The sentences were almost too easy to understand at times, seeming like the book could have been geared to almost a middle school reading level.
However, looking past that, each characters story was definitely well thought out and made the event just that much cooler.
it feels wrong to criticize something when wanting to support local attractions, especially when there is clearly so much effort involved
but this wasn't good. the anti-paragraph printing made it difficult to follow who's who in conversations or which character is being affected in the scene. the writing is very amateur, like it was written By a child, not For a child. speaking of: this book is GOREY for what seems marketed as family-friendly or for young readers. the author makes clear note that expletives are not allowed, but violent gore and carnage (involving children) is a-okay.
this didn't need to exist. it has compelling lore that could deserve more depth by something of a stronger writer, but it truly isn't a necessity for the haunt attraction.
Might be entering July, but as every day is Halloween I wanted a book to put me in the Halloween spirit and this one did not fail to do so. Really enjoyed this and cannot wait to attend Sir Henry's Haunt.
