Every once in a blue moon, I happen across a gem when trying out authors new to me. Ben Hass (Richard Meade) is a prime example. This vintage Western has it all: muscular prose, a plucky heroine, and lots of PG-13 action (gunplay and pursuits). Obviously, I got a kick out of reading it. I'll probably reread it at some point. Recommended to fans of the genre.
I have a paperback of this one. it is an adaptation of a Dean Martin film by Ben Haas in one of his several pseudonyms. It in turn was based on a novel by Al Conroy, The Man In Black.
