Wow, what a captivating and exciting end to this series. When Rémy decided to join the Navy SEALS and leave his fated mate Piper behind, he thought he was doing what was best for her. He had nothing to offer her. He would never be the alpha of his pack and she deserved more. He broke her heart and her pride. Now 10 yrs later, he was coming home to claim what was his. He knew he would have to get her forgiveness, even if he had to beg. Piper was determined to not let Rémy back into her heart. She was done with him forever. The Darkness had returned and both packs had to join together to defeat it once and for all A suspenseful and entertaining storyline with passion, bonding and strong handed discipline thrown in. . Loved this series and all the characters. An awesome PRN series.

I have to admit that this is the first book I’ve read from this series. That being said, I didn’t feel lost as the author brought in the previous couples and alluded to their previous experience, although you may want to start from the beginning of the series for full immersment. I really enjoyed the characters, both were very strong and raised by strong parents. I was a little bummed that she didn’t put up more of a fight, or at least make him work for it more since he left her. But that’s my personal taste and it was still a wonderful story full of action, danger and the defeat of the bad guy. Not to mention their is enough steam to cause the library to spontaneously combust. This is a great book to enjoy going into the weekend, now I just have to go back and read the rest of the series.
Piper and Remy are fated mates with the right DNA needed to defeat the darkness. The couple just needs to fix what Remy broke when he left Piper to join the Navy Seals. Remy left thinking he had nothing to offer Piper. Remy has a lot of groveling to do. We get to see the destruction of the evil and the healing of hearts as Destiny is revealed. A great finale to a wonderful series.
I liked Piper and Remy and thought this was a good second chance read. This book did a great job of finishing this series. I felt like Piper and Remy's story was good at keeping me reading.

This is the conclusion of the Fated Shifter Mate Series: Fated Legacy and I really loved this series and this final book. I love Shifter Books and the Fated Mate Trope is awesome. Lots of smutt and lots of action and HEA at the end.
This is definitely a book that needs to be read in order to know what is going on. This is the last book in the series so I was going in a little blind as to what exactly was going on. There are a lot of time shifts from when both the heroine and hero who are fated mates first begin to explore their connection, to their separation, and then subsequently when the hero comes back. I will preface this by saying there is a lot going on in this novel. Maybe because this is the ending of the series but there is just so much going on and so many characters that I feel were all thrown in at once it was hard to distinguish who was who. Remy our hero rejects his fated mate and decides to leave at 18 and become a career military man. Piper is an alpha wolf who wants to inherit her father's pack but is stuck in the patriarchy system of wolf packs; with her fated mate rejecting her she's basically in limbo she can't take over her pack without an alpha male and she doesn't want anyone who is not her fated mate. Ten years go by and finally Remy returns a POW and having survived this severs his ties with the military. He is also in a precarious position as he is an alpha male who cannot inherit his father's pack because his brother is going to become alpha. He has always loved Piper and he knew he was eventually going to come back to her but he never realized how hard it would be to come back and claim her. She has become hard and given up on their mating....Kind of wish he had to grovel more but as there is an imminent threat of danger in form of some primordial evil spirit they had to hurry things along. Needless to say in the span of like 5 days they have to mate, they have to figure out a plan to trap this evil being, Remy has to find out who betrayed his team and then kill them, and then be back in time to transform into the dire wolf. PS I don't know how you can fly back and forth from UAE to New Orleans in 1 day but these people accomplish this. Some things just don't add up like how Piper has a secret hideaway in some canyons hidden by a waterfall on her ranch...where does she live again Costa Rica...There is nowhere on Galveston Island like this anywhere...I am a native Houstonian and have never seen canyons or waterfalls in Galveston. I do like the fact that Piper is hands on and capable and despite the fact that without a male alpha mate she knows she has to give up the ranch because if she can't have it all she doesn't want it. She sticks to her guns and despite her mate's dominance she still holds her own. I think if I had read the series from the start I would have a better feel for the world building especially since this is somewhat in the future and despite this being set in the future things seems pretty much the same no real innovation or futuristic elements. If the chapters hadn't mentioned the year I honestly would not have even noticed it was based in the future. The ending is a bit anticlimactic and a little rushed even but it is satisfactory in that it effectively ends the story and everyone lives happily ever after. Too many plot diversions really kind of drops the star value of this book there is just too much happening all at once and too quickly.

The series is an ongoing saga, and this is the sixth and final story. I love that we see the next generation—the offspring of those from Wayward Mates and Tangled Vines—but we also get to catch up with the couples from the first two series. The story begins in 2028 with seven-year-old Piper Nichols and her mother chatting about her abilities and love of the ranch land. It picks up in 2039, she is grown up, and they are at a party where Rémy Gautier is preparing to leave and go into the Navy as a SEAL. Both Piper and Rémy know they are fated mates, but they are young, and he leaves anyway, leaving Piper broken-hearted and determined not to let another male wolf hurt her. The main story takes place in 2048 and moves around the globe.
“Sometimes, a clever she-wolf will not show all she can do. Keep something in reserve that no one knows about in case you ever need it.”
“Make him sweat, make him work to earn your love. Then, if you still feel about him the way I think you do, graciously forgive him and hold it over his head for the rest of his life.”
As this series saga has unfolded, it is a battle of good versus darkness. The Darkness is returning to New Orleans, growing more powerful, and intended to destroy the Gautier family. With the joining of so many fated mates, and unique abilities and powers, they are preparing for a final battle, one they must win. First, the last two unmated children, Rémy Gautier and Piper Nichols must take their vows, but Piper has been hurt, bitter, and angry. She won’t just lie down and accept her fate easily; she is determined that Rémy needs to pay for the pain and heartache he caused her. She runs from him—but he follows her.
“On a good day, Piper was the sexiest she-wolf that ever walked the face of the earth, but when she fought dirty, oh yeah, that really did it for him. It meant he could unleash his own beast to claim her. She was his perfect mate—the yin to his yang, the soft to his hard.”
The story’s plot is the relationship between Rémy and Piper, but it is also how the various couples must pull together to overcome The Darkness, not just to slow it down but to destroy it for good. It is plotting and planning, and it will include several couples to make it happen. One, being, Rémy, and Piper. Timing and unity are crucial for it to happen.
I loved the chemistry between Rémy and Piper—they both know they are fated mates, yet it is a decade before they get together. Piper was hurt and has held onto that anger of rejection that Rémy must work through. Once she knows he is here to stay, he isn’t leaving her and even accepts her help; they find happiness.
Rémy: I am the wolf who was born to take you in hand. Piper: And what does that make me? Rémy: The she-wolf who was born to rule my heart and soul.
The good, the bad, and the evil finalize this last book in the series. As we all know will happen, Good wins over Darkness, but it is because of unity and love. I don’t know if Ms. Delta James will do another spin-off from this series, but a few things within the story gives this reader hope that she will.
Wonderful addition to this series, great characters and plot a riveting read This is a simply wonderful read which I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of, both the characters and the plot as per usual had been written absolutely wonderfully by this simply amazing author and I know that other readers will feel exactly the same when you read this book. This is the completing book in what has been a wonderfully written series where the plot and the characters was very clever and the plot was absolutely wonderful, the darkness was simply fantastic and the way in which it was trying to infect the wolf shifter was simply inspirational writing. The wonderful push and pull of the main characters Piper and Remy along with the previous books and the history of the characters and wonderful plot meant that once you started reading this book it was simply impossible to put this book down until you reached the finale and discovered the outcome. I have to say as little as possible as I do not want to spoil the plot for other readers especially if like myself, they have read every one of these wonderful stories, in the Fated Legacy series. As always, I had a very late night of reading because it is simply impossible to put the book down once you begin reading, you are held within the web on intrigue and wonderment that Delta James always weaves so well in her books. On the flip side of this coin, I am then left wondering what the next book or new series will be that this author is already planning to write, she never fails to surprise and always leaves her readers wanting…. I do not want to spoil the plot so will say no more about the three of them, I assure you that you will enjoy every single moment of this book. I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read. I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.
A satisfying conclusion to the Fated Legacy series.
Remy and Piper have both recognized the other was their fated mates since they were young children. Remy’s decision to leave Piper behind when he left T 18 for the Naval Academy was made out of love for her because he didn’t want to take her away from her beloved ranch. Piper was hurt and angry with his choice and vowed to never see him again.
Now 10 years later, Remy has resigned his naval commission and has come home to claim his fated Mate, Piper. He recognizes his mistake from long ago and is determined to make it up to her for the rest of his life. Piper isn’t so willing to accept him or his apology.
This conclusion to the series is jam packed with different plots being included. Remy and Piper’s mating, planning for a showdown with the Darkness, Justice for Remy’s SEAL team who were betrayed on their final mission and more.
The relationship issues between Piper and Remy were handled fairly quickly which I was fine with and eliminated any drawn out angst. I understand Piper was extremely hurt and angry when Remy left - they were only around 18 years old! Her reaction was a bit too extreme in my opinion, and more so that she harbored that anger towards him for 10 years.
I think the story would have been fine without the quick trip to Dubai to seek Justice for Remy’s SEAL teammates, but it did serve to show Remy and Piper fully bonded and functioning as a unit. The subplot was a little disjointed from the rest of the story, but that’s just my opinion.
Delta did a great job pulling everything together to wrap up a very entertaining and enjoyable series. It was fun to see so many beloved characters together interacting and part of the storyline!

This is a story about the final Wayward Mate children. Remy and Piper. Life for these two is so difficult. Remy is an alpha male but because his older brother is as well, Remy has no chance of leading his pack into the future. Piper is an alpha female and the best person to run her family’s ranch. But in this male dominated society, a female alpha cannot take over the traditional role that a male alpha generally has. Remy knew when he is younger that Piper is his fated mate, but believing he has nothing to offer her, he left and many years pass. But then he comes home determined to claim Piper, however Piper has other plans. He hurt her greatly when he left to join the military and she is not willing to forgive and forget the past. Can Remy and Piper get a happy ever after, especially now when the Darkness has arrived back in New Orleans? This is it. It is now or never. All the stories in this series have led up to this final battle. The new generation of fated mates along with some help from their parents must now band together to destroy the Darkness before it destroys them.
This a great finale but also a bittersweet end to an amazing series. I am so sad to see that it is finished. As sad as I am, I wouldn’t have missed it for anything. I fell in love with the children of the Wayward Mates and Tangled Vines as easily as I fell in love with the Wayward Mates and Tangled Vine Mates themselves in their series. Well worth reading.
I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my review.
Touch of Destiny is a good news/bad news sort of book. The good news is that we get to watch Remy and Piper help defeat the great evil that has threatened their world through each of the five earlier Fated Legacy books. The bad news is that this is the final entry in the series and I’m not ready to let these all of these characters or the storyline go. That being said, Touch of Destiny offers up an excellent conclusion that is both rewarding and well plotted. The bonus? We get to revisit the previous mated pairs who have a part to play in bringing an end to the danger that has taken deadly aim at them. Unlike the male wolves in the earlier books who relentlessly pursue their mates upon first scent, Remy walks away from Piper, choosing a career as a Navy SEAL instead. Piper is crushed and not ready to forgive and forget when Remy retires from the military and decides to come after her ten years later. I love that she makes him work to claim her. As always with a Delta James heroine, Piper is smart, skilled and strong-willed and it’s her partnership with Remy that will make a difference in defeating the Darkness once and for all. Entertaining, well-crafted, with draw-you-in characters – highly recommended.

So good....so, so good! Remy and Piper have always been fated/bonded mates. When Remy leaves to attend the Naval Academy, Piper begs him not to go because they are fated mates and will build a life together, and Remy leaves anyway thinking he has nothing to offer Piper. He is an Alpha male and has no pack of his own as his older brother will be Alpha to the New Orleans pack when their father steps down. He crushes Piper with his decision, she, in turn, holds that anger for 10 years. When they meet again, it is to celebrate Remy's homecoming from the Navy Seals, but also to fight a very old new threat....the Darkness....a threat that has been feeding on humanity for thousands of years and has a personal grudge against Jean-Michel and his ancestor. Remy will need to find a way to get through to Piper, to dissipate her anger and to make her realize what they are to each other. Good luck to Remy...Piper is a tough cowgirl and will give him a run for his money. Loved Remy & Piper's story! I am voluntarily leaving a review.
Loved this book!! I actually am very sad that this was the end of the series!! Delta James makes the reader feel as if we really know these characters IRL. They are fully brought to life in my mind! The parents and their offspring stories had brought me many, many hours of reading. Remy and Piper’s story was just awesome! He is a Navy SEAL,which I personally love to read about. Piper just about runs the family ranch, a cowgirl through and through. This story had it all! Action, danger, families, steam and pure love for many couples was on stage for the reader to soak up! I love not only that they were Wolf Shifters but the supernatural element was the Extra oomph for this entire series!! Each book could be read as a standalone, but to get the whole overall picture of what they were up against you should read these from the beginning with Skylar and Travis’s book!! I loved the suspense and hotness in each one!!
I loved this story. I was looking forward to seeing how this second generation would overcome the evil that is facing them. I have been looking forward to Remy and Piper's story. This story blew my mind. I couldn't put it down. I was excited to see what happened next. I am sad that this series is over though. I hope we can see these characters again.
Remy knew who his fated mate was and made the decision to leave her to join the Navy SEALs. He knew that her place was her ranch and that she would not be happy to be traveling around following him. Piper is very upset when Remy leaves her. It isn't until years later that Remy realizes his mistake. Piper is determined not to be his mate though but he is not going to leave her again. The final interaction with the Darkness is upon them though. Will they be able to defeat it once and for all?
I received an ARC from the author/publisher for an honest review.
Remy and Piper are the perfect couple to bring this magical journey to an end. Remy is an an extremely strong, confident alpha that made a critical error with his fated mate. Believing he had nothing to offer Piper, Remy made the decision on his own to leave her behind and join the Navy Seals. But Piper is the perfect combination of her parents, Cameron and Riley, and this alpha she-wolf is exceptional in her own rights. Piper is simply amazing, she is so strong and independent. She doesn’t need a male in her life, ever, but maybe with the exception that her heart never truly healed for her fated mate. During the war with the Darkness, it has never been more imperative that the families combine forces. This is something they have always succeeded at with no shortage of laughter, flare and love along the way. I will truly miss these families. Delta James has marked her place in the paranormal genre with this epic series.
Remy broke Piper's heart when he didn't take her to mate when they grew up. In his all-knowing-alpha-male brain, they were too young. Instead, he went to serve his country. Now he's back and he's ready to claim his mate. She doesn't intend to make it easy for him to win her heart. He really hurt her. He at least recognizes the folly of his actions and actually apologizes. Shocking, isn't it? But that doesn't mean he won't take her in the way of the wolf. Besides, they have an ancient evil to conquer and the "old heads" can't cut it anymore. Yes, he called Riley and Cameron and his own parents old and lived to tell the tale. And Cameron got a little comeuppance for his annoying alpha-hole-ness, granted almost 30 years later. A good ending to the series, though the destruction of the Darkness could have been built up a little more. He did not go out with a bang, more like a whimper.
This is the final book in the Fated Legacy series and Delta, you have absolutely nailed it. This is Remy and Piper’s turn to shine. They knew from early one in their lives that they were fated mates, but he thought that he had nothing to offer her as his older brother was to be the Alpha of their Fathers pack. So Piper grow up stronger then ever after he left without explaining why he left! So when he was captured, tortured and his whole team was killed whilst on a mission, the only thought that sustained him, was going back to claim his fated mate! She won’t make it easy for him, but then again, something worth having is worth fighting! Now add in the Darkness! This is going to be the final showdown? Can they join forces and defeat the Darkness? Can they get their HEA? You will have to read this great book to find out.

This is the last book in the series. While it makes me a little sad, it also makes me want to start from the beginning and re-read the Wayward Mates series again.
Remy and Piper were a force to be reckoned with once Piper decided to forgive Remy. My girl could hold a serious grudge. I did like the way Piper stood up for that little side trip they took.
I did have a couple of questions about one of the hosts the Darkness took over. Was he called to the Darkness, or did I miss something? I wondered if there was something specific or necessary about that host, other than being a truly evil person?
I really enjoyed the battle. In fact, I read it twice. The story was fast paced. It had action, suspense, magic, and danger. There was romance and a few steamy scenes. I would give it 4.5 stars. I would recommend both this book and this series. BUT, if I am being completely honest, the Wayward Mates series is my favorite of the two.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
I couldn’t agree with Delta James more when she wrote, "Completing a series is always bittersweet. You’re excited that you have finished it and yet sad that you won’t be spending time with these characters again… at least not for a while". That pretty well sums up my feelings right now as I've just finished 'Touch of Destiny', the final book in her "Fated Legacy" series. The push and pull between Rémy and Piper, along with the history behind them not being together, and then the ultimate plan to save the Gautier's and Rivière Du Loup was an absolutely brilliant piece of work. I couldn't read it fast enough and now it's over. Congratulations, Ms. James. Not only for this book but for the series. It was absolutely wonderful!
Eleven years ago Remy Gauthier left for the Naval Academy adjoined the Seals. He felt he had nothing to offer his fated mate, Piper Nichols, and wanted to she was safe and comfortable. She wanted to go with him and consequently he broke her heart and hurt her pride. Now, after being betrayed, ambushed captured and tortured Remy has left the Seals and has come home to Riviere Du Loup. He is determined convince Piper to forgive him and claim her. The path to reconciliation is not, by any stretch of the imagination, going smoothly for him. Remy returned to a powerful and angry she wolf who was fated to end the Darkness once and for all. However, she needs to be mated to Remy to bring forth the dire wolf. A wonderful conclusion to the Fated Legacy series.
Remy and Piper get their second chance ten years after he turned his back on her and broke her heart. They grew up knowing they were fated mates, and losing him devastated her. Now he is back, and it won't be easy to win her back. Meanwhile, the Darkness is back, and determined to destroy the Gautiers. It will take a Dire Wolf and an elemental witch to destroy it under a full moon. I'm so sad to see some of my favorite Delta James characters go, but at the same time happy that i got the chance to read their stories. Piper and Remy are such strong, well-matched characters, and they get a glorious HEA. This is another five star read from one of my favorite authors.
i received an advance review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Piper was devastated when her fated mate, Remy, chose to go into the Navy over her. Remy thought he needed to have more to offer the girl of his dreams than to be a second alpha in a pack where he would not become the leader...so he chose to leave...ten years later, Remy is back in New Orleans, declining to reenlist after his SEAL unit killed after being betrayed...he dreamed of Piper to get him through the torture...but his elusive mate refuses to see him...and there's trouble of a different sort with a dark entity stalking the Gautier family...but will he and Piper mend their differences in time to assist with taking down the dark entity for all time??? You will need to read the story to find out...I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I like that there was such a lovely ending to this series but I am also very sad because this series, which I have really enjoyed, is at the end. So bittersweet to be writing this review. This is definitely not a book to read all by itself. You need to at least read this whole series in order and it’s even better if you read the series before it about the parents of the characters in this book. I’m having a hard time finding what to say without giving things away. I will say that I found this to be a great read and a very entertaining series. In fact I would recommend any of Delta James’ books to you. Go forth and enjoy.

Book 6 in the Fated Legacy Series sees us reading Remy and Piper's story Delta continues to Wow us in this latest creation. Her imagination is at top peak and the story is so mesmerizing - it's hard to put down. Reading each of the stories in this series gives us a wonderful insight into the world of the paranormal with BDSM tones that excite and make one wish our lives could be the same. How cool would it be to be able to change into an animal and garner all the abilities that animal has. Not to mention the deep devotion they have for their partner. Delta is my number one top author. Highly recommended read.
This is the last book in the Fated Legacy series. Piper is a strong she-wolf who was rejected by her fated mate. Remy feels that he has nothing to offer Piper, so he joins the SEALS. Years later, Remy leaves the SEALS to claim Piper and to help take down the Darkness. I've enjoyed this series, and the previous linked series, that have brought us such joy to read. Piper is such a strong woman who wants to live her life her way. Remy is a bit of an overbearing man, but he recognizes that he hurt Piper when he left and he needs to make it up to her. There is a very satisfying ending that brings all our favorite characters together again. I highly recommend this book.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Remy left his fated mate behind before claiming her thinking he had nothing to offer Piper. After being captured and tortured, he knows he must return to and claim his mate. The added danger of the Darkness only adds to the need. It wasn't easy but Remy gains Piper as his mate. It was interesting what their fathers planned for their future. In the end Piper and Remy get justice for his team's betrayal and also they join together to destroy the Darkness for good. The story keeps you on the hooks until it is finished.
Another great series comes to an end. Remy finally claimed his fated mate Piper. At first Remy believed he had nothing to offer Piper that is why he left to become a Navy Seal leaving behind a broken heart Piper. But loved won out in the end. As they defeated the darkness that was set on destroying Remy’s family. Great story. I enjoyed this series very much. It was great to read about the parents in the Wayward Mate and the Tangled Vines series but to read about the children all grown up and finding their fated mates just makes you go aww 🥰. Great job Delta James.
The author knew her readers well, it is indeed bittersweet that the series has come to its end. No matter, I am looking forward to more wonderful stories from this author.
Now on to our dear Remy and Piper. I wanted to say some things to Remy but he already knew that and made up for his past mistake. It's a good thing that Piper know how to make him pay. The she-wolves may submit to their mate, but this does not mean that they are weak, they are as strong as their mates. Women power is celebrated here.

Touch of Destiny is the fifth book in the Fated Legacy series and its a wonderful romance that has small town charm, family, gatherings and fated mates. This is Remy and Piper story they are both enjoyable characters along with all of side characters that are well written. Their attraction was strong and their chemistry generated lots of sparks. The storyline was engaging and offers a solid amount of action, mystery, evil, drama, twists, adventures, mistakes and emotional turmoil that created tension as this couples relationship evolves into more than they ever imagined.

Fated Legacy is a Fantastic Series! I love how Ms. James left Piper for last. She is the one throughout the series that vowed she would never take Remy as her mate after he broke her heart. After reading all the books, Piper is the most strong-willed out of all the she-wolves. That includes the mothers too. Remy thought he was doing the right thing by leaving Piper to become a SEAL. He didn’t realize how bad it hurt her. After a mission went bad and he lost all of his friends, he knew it was time to rethink his life.
The way the group worked to defeat the Darkness was superb!
