I'm always on the lookout for new authors when it comes to Mafia and MC romances. I thought the blurb on this book was interesting, so took a chance on it.
The story took off fast and furious with Olivia's bank being robbed by her ex-fiancé. As Olivia was taken hostage, she tells her bank friend to call Freddy.
Turns out Freddy was the hero in the story who was willing to sacrifice everything to get Olivia back in his life.
I thought it a bit odd that Olivia thought of Freddy as being the one to save her from her murderous ex, but once she was saved, she treated Freddie like the enemy.
It took a while for Olivia to get on the same page and realize that Freddy was on her side. At the same time, Freddy was not the stellar boyfriend I hoped he would be as there were scenes of dubious consent before Olivia was all in with their relationship.
Olivia was pretty spunky, but I like my heroines a little smarter than what she showed in this storyline.
Freddy was definitely over the top with his obsessed feelings for Olivia. Their relationship was a bit unbalanced with Freddy's full on expectations and Olivia fighting and questioning her attraction to him every step of the way.
I appreciated the lack of cheating, and a sweet HEA at the end.

This was a really great story. Has plenty of action, adventure, drama, danger, violence, patience, passion and love. Olivia gets kidnapped by her ex when he robs the bank she works at. He takes her to an undisclosed location. She ends up tell her co worker to call Freddy Bonanno as she knows that he is the only one that could save her. I really liked Freddy as he is really into Olivia and want's her with a passion that she fights against the whole time they are together. Olivia is a strong character but she drove me crazy. After a while you get tired of how much she fight and complains about Freddy's and his ability to keep her safe. You can feel their attraction to each other. When Olivia's ex Adrian holds up the bank and decides to take her too, she can only hope Freddy Marleno will come to her rescue. Freddy had wanted Olivia since being back, and when he gets the call shes been taken he goes into overdrive. he will get her back and make her his at any cost. well written great addition to the series, filled with suspense, sass, desires, steamy scenes action and more!

Another great story from Mae. I do love her Mafia stories, full of suspense and dominating alpha men who stop at nothing to get the woman they want! This was no exception, with a detailed and dangerous plot, a feisty heroine and a controlling but protective anti hero! Freddy and Olivia are just a great couple, with loads of chemistry and i really enjoyed it! Cant wait to see what we get next.

I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. Freddy saves Olivia when her ex kidnaps her during a robbery. These two have a relationship that goes from one extreme to the other. I think that Freddy fits in with the usual over the top mafia characters in the Bonanno Family series. Olivia was harder for me to connect with but she was perfect for him in the end. 3.5

Wonderful

Very well written and an excellent story to read. Mafia guys at it again and their significant others keeping the home fires burning. Great dialogue and a wonderful cast of characters. Lots of excitement and a love to last thru the ages. The author does a great job of portraying the characters and a really crisp read with everything drawing you into a story that leaves you wanting more. Can't wait for the next book.

Good Series

I’ve enjoyed this series very much. They are stand alone books with the a different brother and the love of his life. With that being said this, this was my least favorite of them. I just didn’t connect with the heroine. She was weak trying to act tough. I’m going to continue this series because I like the tough mafia man with a heart. You can read in any order if you want to. But I think in order would be more enjoyable.

Destined by Mae Doyle is book 9 in The Bonanno Family Series. This is the story of Olivia and Freddy Bonanno. Freddy has wanted Olivia since he first saw her but hadn't acted on his feelings. When she is kidnapped by a ex-boyfriend and she tells a coworker to call him...he goes into action. Freddy ends up getting her back but now she is being kept by him. Enjoyed their story.
