In search of the key to Knossos, Bete’s leaving no stone unturned! But unfortunately for him, Lena seems to have the information he needs, and her price is one date! Though he reluctantly agrees, they don’t get far before they’re set upon by Valletta and her horde of assassins, and she’s taking no prisoners! Outnumbered and ill-prepared, will Bete be able to protect his unlikely companion?
Even though I rather dislike Bete Loga and his story arc didn't do much for me in the LN, I found this volume of the manga to be pretty good. Sword Oratoria has always been a favorite since I first picked it up, so I guess it isn't a surprise that even my least favorite arc is alright.
Wow! I never thought this offshoot of the original would come close quality-wise, but it’s damn close. I have a heavy heart reading this volume and will say Bete’s backstory is heartbreaking. I’m looking forward to the next volume!
