Though out this series, I wanted to love it. When there are good ideas, they are good. However, there is far more to criticize than praise. I came in wanting to love this series, yet I leave it in an "eh" state. This series was the first LitRPG/GameLit book I read, and I was a bit disappointed. I like video games, so I figured this would be pretty cool to experience. Sadly I didn't get that. I think making it a GameLit was a mistake. If it was a straight SciFi book, I believe the series would have been a bit better for it. However, that can only do so much because the rest of the series can be forgettable to training. I hate all the training it did, and I do not like it. With his good ideas, I wish there were more about the world than "We need to train some more." Seriously there, though, throughout the series, each book mention training in some way or form. It tried in the last book to give a sort of "look how far we have come" training with AJ. However, that was nothing special.
The next problem was all the side characters were thrown to the side. We get introduced to new characters saying they will be essential and they will play a significant role. Nope, most of them do not know even AJ and our main character's ex-wife; heck, even Sin didn't play a considerable role like I thought she would have. The ones that got the most time were the main character and the pet (which she was excellent). But yeah, that made me ask, "Why bother with anyone else?" Even the big bad sucked. I wanted him to think he was grand and epic, but no. He, too, was barely in it and did anything. Though I like the parallel to our hero, the villain did not do an excellent job in scaring me or being a significant threat.
To Alex Knowles, I wish the best of luck to you in your writing career, and I hope to see your name once more to see the improvement you make and the future. One thing is sure, though, you know how to make adequate covers.

Don't Cry Because It's Over...

This series has made me feel so many emotions throughout. In the last few books, there have been lots of tears. Knowles knows exactly what they're doing when writing these characters, situations, and overall feelings into The Bright Series. I knew going into this one to be prepared, and even though I wasn't ready, knowing it's the story's arc completion has me feeling weird. I know this should be it, but I've also thought that with other series. But if it really is, I'm both sad and happy. I'm sad that it's over and happy that I completed this journey with these characters and the author.

Trying to explain what happened and how I felt about Finish This without spoiling the other six books is difficult. Knowles threw a few more curveballs at Tytan in this, and they caught me off guard like him. There were a lot of emotional scenes, and, as I mentioned above, even though I was "prepared," they still caught me off guard.

Overall, I thought The Bright Series was excellent, and Finish This was the perfect ending for it all. Knowles whipped up the perfect story arc and executed it to perfection.

I think I've mentioned Campbell's narration in every review; if not, he absolutely CRUSHES this and made these books sing. I was laughing towards the end; there was a scene where I believe the person apologizes. I don't know if it was on purpose or just because I know that Campbell is a Canadian narrator, but I could hear a slight Canadian accent on the sorry. This actually sent my brain spiraling. I don't believe Knowles ever specified where Tytan lived - and he very well could've been Canadian. It didn't take away from the story; honestly, I only mentioned it because it caused me to have more thoughts about this book and this series without ever being a "part" of Knowles' story.

It is sad that this story has come to an end but the fact that it has made the story compelling. I wish we could have seen more of Sin. For such an important character, her importance was diminished by not being present in so many of the books. The ending was epic and won’t leave anyone wanting.

Seriously this book had such a slow beginning that it never even started! Unfortunately the only amazing thing was that I didn't fall asleep.
Steve Campbell however gave the reader a great performance.

I didn't want this series to end! I loved it so much! It's definitely one of the best! This conclusion was solid, After all of the things Ty and the rest have gone through, it had a fitting end. I laughed, cried, cheered, and cried some more with this series It's such a fantastic series!

I don't have any more words to express how great Steve Campbell was in the series! Well done!

Bravo, Mr. Knowles and Mr. Campbell!
