戊戌政变部分主观性太强，对于上层的了解太少；关于李中堂，梁启超以自己的评价标准来衡量泥潭之中的觉察到三千年未有之变局的人，还是赞美不够，惋惜过甚；梁启超文笔很好，果然不是康骗子那个妖艳贱货能比的。
