****TRIGGER THIS BOOK CONTAINS EVENTS THAT COULD TRIGGER READERS****
26 yr old writer and mom who's here to add a flare to your mundane romance novels. We all know love isn't easy, so why does every book we come across describe it as such? Love is a journey, one with many elements including drug addiction, mental illness, and physical disabilities.....or fantasy. You can also find me on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/Yvonne-Benne...
This story was total bs. Who let's themselves be treated like dirt and falls in love ? With the person or sex. You truly have to have some serious issues (mental) to accept what she went through. I really couldn't get behind this story. A disclaimer should have been given about this trash
I cannot believe I finished this trashy novel. It’s rough and not romantic in any way. This poor heroine is verbAlly, physically and sexually assaulted by the man who is supposed to be the hero of the novel! It’s brutal and gross and I kept reading hoping it would redeem itself in some way, but no. Just please read this disclaimer before you make the same mistake I did by reading this book.
The Trigger warning isn’t enough, this is lower than trash ⚠️
0 Stars Ms. Author, wtf is this?? This isn’t a dark Romance, It’s unhinged, psychotic, criminally insane. Simone was a sex worker which is fine until it’s not consensual— the abuse she had to endure at the hands of two men. Was Matías suppose to be the prize? An emotional stunted psycho who needed therapy long ago but now he just needs die to go straight to hell. Then after all his physical torture and psychological abuse, the Author had the never to mention “Love”?? I’m trying to figure how the Author wrote this and said “ yeah, that’s it!” & then you killed Jose the only one that treat Simone like a human being—-raggedy af!!
Don’t do this ever again, there is NOTHING romantic about getting your ass beat and R—-ed This isn’t dub con, this is pure trash. Standards for Mafia Romance for BW are in the bowels of hell and I want y’all to leave us out of your insanity.
Book should be called: I hate black women. SEEK HELP
I thought the book was really good. I loved the characters and the storyline. The only thing that I would have to say is I got tired of The characters being referred to as Latino or brown skin. The first time that it was mentioned it was OK even the second time it was mentioned it was OK but it seem like they kept on referring to them this way instead of saying the characters name or anything else it was always the Latino guy or the brown skin girl.
Simone was a sex worker who just wanted more from life. Matias is a cartel boss that can’t get her out of his system. Can Simone survive?
I don’t know why I’m always reading these books, because Bennett’s stories are dark and this one probably shouldn’t count as a romance. But here I am, reading them.
Don’t read this if you’re not used to Yvonne Bennett or have read the trigger warnings.
This book was amazing. I was really hoping to get a spinoff with Jose 😭. I really wanted Izzy to suffer more.If you are looking for a great dark romance this book right here is an all in one special for you. I finished it in about 5 hours. It won't be long before this is topping the charts as best seller
This was an good read strong man Matias has trauma in life and it falls onto the woman, women Simone is weak but strong and doesnt realize it yet...story had a bumpy start but it turn out well .Both Matias and Simone coming to turns with there feeling of love for one another. After everything Matias put Simone through she loved him....
I enjoyed the book. I hated the abuse even if I understood why I didn't like it because it doesn't show the abuser as dominant to me it shows his weaknesses.
The heroine was good. Her line of work introduced her to harm no matter nowhat. But when she opened her eyes to reality she understood.
I loved this book! I was hard pressed to find anything redeemable about the Matias for most of the book. Simone was up against a rock and a hard place trying to survive... I really liked seeing Matias' perspective and see Simone grapple with the reality of her new life.
This is such a phenomenal story that was created by an am amazingly brilliant and talented writer. This story has sass, drama, thrills, tintalizing dialogue and the sexiest sex scenes ever. I am a new fan who highly recommends this mind blowing story.
I liked everything about this book! It's pretty rough so if you're squeamish it's not for you, but if you like strong characters and strong scenes you will love it. If you enjoyed her book (In Too Deep) you will love this one even more.
Good story line, but in need of effective editing. Mechanical errors and misuse of words are an unwelcome distraction. Translations are literal, and therefore, inauthentic. Articles aren't necessary for nouns of address.
OK so this is like a twisted love story of triumph and getting to know people and opening yourself up to something new even if it seems disastrous on the outside or at first impression
Okay.....this was an unexpected read that I couldn't put down. I saw the author post it on FB and decided to give it a try. It kept me intrigued from beginning to end.
His reasoning for being so cruel was a bit irrational, i wish we got a little more emotions about the transition of the relationship but still an amazing book
A very dramatic book that doesn't shy away from triggering themes. Would have loved that the author spent a bit more time on the male lead's compassionate site.
The grammar and spelling and writing rules were ignored, but that wasn't that big. A second look can help it. What bothered me the most was the Spanish, basic grammar was missing that made those passages cringe worthy to read.
