I began my writing journey in 2016 after suffering a breakdown and having major time off work to recover.
I'm a huge fantasy lover and began my journey as an author writing The Wrath of Raghnall which I later shortened to Raghnall's Wrath (new adult fantasy.)
After the pandemic, I began writing contemporary Rom-Com as I felt like I needed something to laugh at and many of my readers felt the same. Screw it! was born and became a hit with my readers.
I will continue to dapple with different genres though, I doubt I will change to a pen name for any. I am immensely proud of all my books and will continue to put my name to any/all works.
A few things about me:
I speak fluent sarcasm and for those who are easily offended, I'm most definitely not the person you want to be around.
I'm a hot chocolate lover with a healthy obsession with all kinds of romance books and an unhealthy obsession with fictional men *Ahem... Bat-boys.📚
I'm a mother to a beautifully demented little boy with ASD and GDD. He loves nothing more than to cause mischief and stalk away laughing maniacally. When my miniature bond villain isn't leaving a trail of destruction behind him, he can be found doting on our two dogs.
When I'm not busy running around after my son— you can find me curled up with a paperback or Kindle in hand—occasionally the odd Audiobook.
Note: I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I loved Nick and Lottie! Sure, they both have opposite personalities, and could maybe kill each other in the same room, but they can't deny chemistry, the simmering kind, between them.
A mixup of everything around them pairs them together and on the romance goes! Thanks to god and mixed up reservations, am I right?
With laugh-out loud writing, steamy chemistry, characters you can't help but love and root for, this was an intriguing and addicting novel you surely will not forget for giving you a good time.
I was lucky enough to be a beta reader for this book And my what a ride a brilliantly written work of art. The main characters were well constructed and the banter between them is absolutely hilarious A perfect mix between a sexy contemporary romance and a tense thriller Would definitely recommend and would love to read more based around these characters
If you want a funny, fast, and steamy read with forbidden lovers pick this book up! Omg! The banter between Craig and Lottie was spot on and down right made me giggle along with the banter between them with their friends and family especially Josie... she was a hoot! The sexy time scenes were spot on and hot and steamy just the way I like them. And who doesn't love a good forbidden romance?
This has got to be one of the best audio books I've ever listened to.
I'll admit that when I first started listening to it, I thought, for just a minute, that I wasn't going to bother listening to it and I'd just read it on KU instead. I'm so glad I didn't.
Jonathan did a fantastic job of Narrating it. Especially a major scene at the end. I don't think reading it would have had the same effect.
Between Shauna's writing and Jonathan's narration, I don't think I've loved an audio book more. I lost count of the amount of times I laughed out loud. The way Shauna writes makes liking the characters effortless and you can see yourself being friends with these people.
Craig and Lottie have always thought themselves unattainable for each other due Craig being Lottie's big brother Nick's best friend. A mix up at the hotel during Nick's wedding, however, has them see each other as they've always wanted to be seen. What follows is a hilarious, sensitive and spicy journey of two people finding their HEA.
I loved Josie, when she was interrogating Craig on his relationship with Lottie in the van had me Chuckle 🤣🤣 and a slip up on the phone to her mum made a scene with Lottie having me proper belly laugh.
The labour scene, for me, was so relatable and I couldn't stop laughing because I was exactly the same with my first labour. I wanted the drugs, I wanted ALL the drugs 🤣🤣.
Not only was this book extremely funny and spicy, it also showed the more sensitive sides of relationships. The struggles that someone might have to overcome from past relationships or experiences in order to make a new one work. The give and take and the trust.
I have never wanted to recommend an audio/book more. This is a comfort read for those wet and cold days where you can curl up on the couch wrapped up warm and just enjoy the ride.
This is the first book I've come across by Shauna but I will definitely look out for more from her.
I'm definitely in the minority for this review, but I cannot bring myself to give it more than 1 star 🫠 Firstly, I read this on Kindle and either the formatting is terrible in general or it's not well formatted for Kindle. Given it's available on Kindle unlimited I'm guessing it's the former. There were so many font changes, unfinished lines, line spacing issues, and lack of quotation marks. The POV skipped too often without a clear definition of who was talking which made it confusing, and the time jumps seemed very unnecessary. The myriad of grammatical errors and typos in this book was insane and really negatively affected the reading experience. The plot was poor, basic at best, and the character development was basically non-existent. There were a few plotlines which remained unanswered, like who was Craig telling her loved on the phone? The FMC could have been great but was portrayed as a bit of a bumbling Disney fan whose only real passion and hobby appears to be eating/food. This would be fine if her weight wasn't constantly mentioned, and her "waddling" as she advanced in her pregnancy. The MMC was better in some ways however, again, zero character development just made him a boring guy. I'm always a fan of the one bed trope but the fact that Lottie's and Craig's first sexual encounter went unregistered and un-recalled as they were too drunk, defeated the benefits that a one bed trope brings, so it was a waste of time.
TL;DR I should stay off tiktok for book recommendations 🙃

I was delighted to be a beta reader for this book.
It’s a fun and steamy romance with loveable and highly entertaining characters! The banter between Lottie and Craig is fantastic and Josie’s character is hilarious!
If you want a laugh out loud romance with characters that you want to be friends with, then I can’t recommend this book enough! I also thoroughly enjoyed the Irish-ness of it!
Screw It! By: Shauna Richmond Narrated by: Jonathan Waters
This is enjoyable romantic comedy, the story is fast moving and has plenty of drama, humor, witty dialogue, some thrilling and suspenseful moments, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. The character are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with, they ere easy to like and care about too. Lottie Evans has a crush on her brother Nick’s best friend, Craig Barnes, realizes he has feelings for her but she is off limits. But a mishap with hotel reservations puts them in the same room and in the same bed and the chemistry between them could not longer be denied. But what happens when the weekend it over, what do they tell her brother? A lot goes on in this book and there is never a dull moment. The story is entertaining and enjoyable with plenty of laugh out loud moments and some heartfelt ones too.
🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Jonathan Water is a talented narrator and a voice artist. He did a great job bringing the characters and their story to life. He set the perfect tone for the story handled the witty dialogue with ease and landed the humor effortlessly. You could hear how much heart he put into his work as he captured the character’s emotions and projected them into his performance. He is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this terrific listen.
I Love finding new authors to read and new narrators to listen to and Screw It By Shauna Richmond blessed me with both. I really Loved and enjoyed this story it was fantastic I could not get enough. Lottie and Craig are friends and roommates and secretly hot for one another...the other snag is that Craig is also Lottie's brothers friend and so Craig has held back his feelings for Lottie because of him. But when they decide to attend Nick the brothers wedding together, that is when things change forever. Listening to Lottie and Craig's journey from friends to lovers and then navigating their reationship through some life changing events was a pure delight. The chemistry between these two is super steamy making this a sexy little read,I loved their banter and relished the quirkiness of this book. It made me smile and laugh more times than I can count. What can I say about Jonanthan Waters the narrator of this book...He is PHENOMENAL I experienced this book in a whole new way from his magnificent performance. His accents and expressive storytelling blew me away he is Amazing. I love it when I find hidden Gems like Screw it by Shauna Richmond and they take me by surprise. Perfectly written, and so much fun. Thoroughly entertaining, amusing, funny, sweet and steamy. I loved it and Highly recommend it. 5 Stars.
Screw It! By: Shauna Richmond Narrated by: Jonathan Waters
A little taboo, a lot of humor and a heart full of love, Shauna Richmond gives us Screw It! Craig and Lottie are roommates, never to cross that line of romance, as Lottie is Nick, Craig's best friend's sister. That is until they do. But realizing love and acting on it are two different things. Will these two be able to go back to being just friends? Will Nick approve of this match? Will they have to change their living arrangements? Give this a listen. You will laugh out loud, become annoyed and frustrated and fall in love. And be prepared for Craig's grandmother! She is a trip!
Jonathan Waters brings this story to life with a great performance. I enjoyed his voices for the dialogue, though at times in the narrative it was hard to distinguish who's point of view is speaking. His voice for Lottie is spot on with a spunky and independent woman, and he easily transitions to Craig, the alpha feel evident. It is an enjoyable performance!
Very steamy! The chemistry between the main characters sizzles. There certainly isn't a shortage of spice in this.
The writing made me laugh out loud. Very amusing. Josie in particular is hilarious. The banter is just great, and made me root for them all.
Refreshing to have two people who actually speak to one another! Though I guess that did mean any tension or drama was swiftly resolved. But hey, sometimes you want a nice, fun read.
The narrator, although truly brilliant at the male characters wasn't as good at the females...would have been great if we could have had two narrators. But it was still a good listen. Though I'm glad I put my headphones in rather than have it blaring (moaning, growling etc.) out to the neighbours.
Sexy, funny, with just a dash of tension. I highly approve! Thank you for my copy and having me on the blog tour! Had a great time.
Screw It is a very well written book that could be taken off the front page of a newspaper. The storyline while fun, exciting and raunchy has a very serious undertone. I enjoyed listening/reading the story as it kept me entertained yet on edge to find out what was going to happen next. I don't want to give away any spoilers but this story is hot as in steaming hot. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is 18 and over and loves steaming, funny love stories that have a serious plot twist. I received this book for free at my request and I am voluntarily leaving this honest unbiased review of my own volition.
Absolutely wonderful, and a breath of fresh air! You may know the author Shauna from her fantasy series Wrath of Raghnall and Shattered Steel - now she’s gone contemporary! I absolutely love the chemistry and the “would they would they not” vibes between Lottie and Craig - the drama OH THE DRAMA! If you want your heart to soar and are in the mood for a quirky, badass one liners, and whole lot of steamy scenes, then definitely get involved and read this now! Shauna is one to watch for sure! ❤️❤️
Thank you so much Shauna Richmond and Hygge book tours for gifting me a digital copy of ‘Screw it’ in exchange for an honest review. This book is for people who love steamy sex scenes, a build up of brother’s best friend trope and forced proximity (room mix up) the relationship between Craig and Lottie is sizzling hot. Add into the mix a Nan who has absolutely no filter, a brother sister dynamic that most of us understand with banter that can be offensive but comes from love. I enjoy books with both characters POV as it gives you a fuller picture of the relationships that are built. As the temperatures have cooled this book certainly warmed me up.
4.5⭐ This book had me laughing out loud from the very first page! I really enjoyed it & devoured it within 2 days which is very rare for me. I was completely captivated by this story & it didnt take me long to fall in love with Lottie & Craig. I'm pretty sure Craig is the male version of me tbh 🤭🤣 This book is hilarious & hard to put down as well as sexy & steamy. I need the sequel now please 💗
This was a bit out of my normal reading genre but I really enjoyed it! I listened to this on my commute to work and found myself getting very into the lives of the characters. I have to admit some of it was a bit saucy and I had to turn the volume down when I drove into work! But I thought it complimented the story rather than dominating it. I would recommend this to others especially the audiobook version as it was excellent narrated too.
This audiobook was surprising with lots of fun twists along the way.
The first unexpected surprise? A male narrator! I was also not expecting an Irish accent - loved it!! I should’ve checked out the book more closely before starting my listening journey - but actually I really enjoyed being surprised.
I was expecting a dual POV but single POV was fine, and the dialogue really sparkled in the audiobook.
I absolutely loved this and laughed the whole way through it,
So lottie is nicks little sister and Craig is his best friend what could go wrong.... or right???
They are best friends who have to go to a function together, after a mix up with the hotel rooms they end up making a mistake, and what a mistake is turns out to be but all isn't sunshine and rainbows....
this is a fast pace rom-com that will have you absolutely laughing till you wet yourself, and give you all the feels
Thank you Shauna for sending me an advance copy for my honest opinion.
I haven't read a book like this in a long time. This one had me hooked. I love these kind of book where friends become lovers. Lottie and Craig are the main characters and they are so likeable. I love the banter they have with each other. My fav character has to be Josie, she just has no filter
What an amazingly beautiful story. I really resonated with the main character Lottie and loved her personality. I enjoyed watching the relationship develop between the characters as it felt natural and believable. I nearly wet myself with laughter a few times. Brilliant read, would highly recommend.
I listened to this via audible. I really enjoyed the narrator and the characters were fun. I would definitely read/listen to another book from this author.
I went into this a bit blind as I couldn’t remember what it was about, but that made it all the more fun and exciting for me.
A good old friends to lovers story with plenty of laughs along the way. The novel is split into Lottie and Craig chapters, both telling the story of how they both had feelings for each other but wouldn’t act on them because of her brother, Nick, who is Craig’s best friend. They finally get together at Nick’s wedding and then all hell breaks loose.
There’s a bit of steam along the way, and a great deal of funny moments (and embarrassing ones too!). I really enjoyed this and read most of it in one day! A feel good, fun, laugh out loud (I know, it’s funny!) story that you won’t regret picking up.
This is such a fun read! Full of humour and Irish wit, this romance reads as if your best friend is telling her you about her love life. Full of dramatic twists and turns, this story ought to keep you on your toes whilst Craig sweeps Lottie off her feet 💋 ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Love this! Totally fresh and modern and full of sass and fun!
Following our two main characters Craig and Lottie - starting off as flatmates, but it soon becomes clear that they both want more - they just haven't told each other that yet!
After going to a wedding together just as 'mates' and a mix up with the hotel room - they cannot keep their hands off each other and their relationship develops quickly. It was great to see them go from the early stages right the way through to later life (really trying to not give any spoilers here...) - along with a few flashbacks to give them each a bit of context.
The characters are all brilliant and the conversational style of the writing makes you feel as though you're right there with them. I'm so pleased that this was written from both pov as that helped to build a connection with both Lottie and Craig and also built up the excitement and had me rooting for them throughout. This is such an easy read and I sped through it as I was so invested from the start, that I just couldn't put it down.
Brilliantly bold and had me laughing out loud - absolutely loved it!
I think this book was filled with all of my favourite tropes.
I loved the characters. Some bits are so typically Irish and relatable which I loved. It is one of my favourite romance books that I have read in a while.
It was a 4-star read for me. I was so excited when I found out there is going to be a sequel.
Thank you to the author for a gifted copy of the audiobook. I had preordered the book on Kindle so I decided to read the kindle version but look forward to listening to the audiobook.
I enjoyed this storyline. The characters were fun, the chemistry was hot and there was just enough drama to keep me intrigued. From the perspective of an audiobook listener: While I liked this storyline, I did not like the writing style in this book. I’m new to this author so I’m not sure if all her books are written the same and therefore I would be willing to try her again. Let me explain. Duel POV narrated by 1 person can be a bit confusing. While Jonathan Waters has a great female voice, only the actual dialogue was easily distinguishable. The POV’s switch back and fourth within the chapter. This would be fine if the book was done in duet. I found it to be confusing and difficult to remember who’s POV it was. I’m a huge fan of Jonathan Waters and he does a good job narrating but IMO this wasn’t my favorite performance. If POV’s don’t bother you, or you choose to read the e-book, You may enjoy this book. It’s a good standalone story with an HEA.
Screw It! is a hilarious, yet smoking hot romance with a fresh flair, raw humour, and great characters.
Lottie is down on her luck, pushing thirty, single, and living together with her brother Nick's old friend Craig. She has a huge crush on him, something she's kept a secret since forever, believing he's way out of her league. But little does she know, Craig has been in love with her for a long time as well, so when they go to attend Nick's wedding and end up sharing a hotel room (oops, such a horrible mistake by the receptionist! *giggle*), "things"... happen. And no one is happier than me!
I laughed out loud so many time listening to the audiobook of Screw It! The banter is on point, the chemistry is off the chart, and the smut is smouldering hot! I recommend Screw It! for anyone looking to satisfy their need for a fresh contemporary romance or rom-com.
Note: I listened to the audiobook narrated by Jonathan Waters, and he did the voices and accents incredibly well. I truly enjoyed his way of bringing the characters to life. Brilliantly done!
This steamy romance was so cute and funny. I really liked Lottie and Craig, they really clicked together. I thought both Lottie and Craig were extremely relatable, very realistic, and easy to connect with throughout the book. Lottie has a crush on her brothers best friend, Craig and Craig soon realizes that he has some feelings for Lottie but she's off limits so what happens when the hotel screws up both of their reservations, sticking them in the same room?? I swear this book made me laugh out loud many times. I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen and the author really did a great job of keeping me guessing until the end. This book was well written, lots of drama, steamy romance and some spice. This was the first book that I read from Shauna Richmond, but it will not be the last. If you like Screw It, Ms. Richmond also has a fantasy series The Oldin Chronicles; Shattered Steel, Highland Reaper, and Gaelic Mettle.
