It's summer, and Emma and Izzie are bored and broke. Setting up a lemonade stand is a sweet way to solve both those problems! But running a business isn't as easy as it seems. Hopefully their hard work will pay off! Emma is Deaf and often uses sign language to communicate, and this early chapter book includes an ASL fingerspelling chart and a sign language guide.
Emma has a cochlear implant and uses ASL. Author is Deaf-blind, has a CI and uses ASL.
This is a sweet book about starting a lemonade stand! Messages include: working together and problem solving
The book has some signs and the alphabet in ASL. I wish that the letters were drawn more accurately -- especially: "D", "K", "P". I also don't love how "H", "O", and "Y" are drawn, but to a lesser extent.
Emma and her friend Izzie start a Lemonade stand to raise some funds for items they want. Day 1 is very successful, but then the week gets slow. Can they turn around their business?
Another fun read-aloud and my son loves learning the signs at the end!
It's warm outside and Emma and Izzie want to make some money, so they set up a lemonade stand. Will they make enough money to buy the gift and graphic novel they have in mind?
A typical lemonade stand story. I like that it does show how business can ebb and flow with the days.
This book would be a very good read aloud for young kids because the 2 main characters (Emma and Izzie) are both deaf and they use sign language to communicate and it shows how to sign common words in the story.
My daughter is 7 and has enjoyed this series of books.
They feature a young girl doing everyday activities with her family. Emma uses sign language so the book features some signs. No peril or anything scary in these books and reasonably short to read.
