When best friends Jennifer Wenn and Lisa McCollister ask Barbara Blackwell how best to handle a large and complicated annual Christmas Eve party, Blackwell decides the easiest way to survive that event is to host it herself.
Why?
First, Tank’s parents are visiting the city for the first time, they want to stay with Lisa and Tank at their townhouse, and Lisa fears that if she hosted, her mother-in-law would cause her share of problems.
As she tends to do…
Second, Jennifer and Alex always host the Christmas Eve party. Always. And with their son, Aiden, turning three, Blackwell believes it’s high time to give them a break.
Third, since moving into her new apartment, Blackwell feels a bit lonely due to her daughters no longer living with her. It’s difficult for her to admit, but there’s a part of her that knows it would be good to have her apartment filled with those she loves most—especially over the holidays.
What she doesn’t know is that someone is about to sideline her. That someone would be Marcus Koch, the handsome hedge fund manager who is only the second man Blackwell has ever loved. She dated him for a year before she decided to end their relationship because he was too busy to spend enough time with her.
Marcus knows he made a terrible mistake.
In fact, unbeknownst to Blackwell, it’s taken him three years to streamline his business and thus his life in an effort to win her back. Now, he’s ready to go all in to have her back in his heart, in his life, and in his bed again, but will Blackwell be open to his advances?
Will she dare to give him—and love—a second chance?
A Very Blackwell Christmas is the first time readers of the Annihilate Me series will read a story told from Blackwell’s point of view. Finally, they will see the person behind the cutting wit and the cutting-edge fashion, both of which she uses as armor. But why does she need them? What’s made her the person she is today? In A Very Blackwell Christmas, the real Barbara Blackwell reveals her innermost thoughts. And when that happens?
Christina Ross began writing on nights and weekends while working as an intern for an international, iconic fashion magazine. After eight years, she left that position as an editor. Many of Christina's narratives reflect her background as an insider in the world of fashion.
Now, with a successful fashion career behind her, Christina divides her time between her apartment on Park Avenue in Manhattan and her new home along the coast of Maine. Christina loves spending quality time with her girlfriends in both locations. A lifelong animal-lover, Christina's favorite charity is the ASPCA, to which she encourages all her readers to contribute.
I love this gang and it’s good getting a book through Blackwell’s point of view. I was gutted when she ended it with Marcus and I am delighted he is back.
I cannot believe Ethel is up to her usual tricks. Poor Lisa and Tank. I’m gutted I finished it so quickly.
Marcus wants a second chance with Barbara which he messed up three years ago. It’s taken him this long to dismantle most of his holdings so he can just live in New York. He still loves her. Barbara has deep trust issues with men. Her first husband cheated on her, and Marcus didn’t make enough time for her. Can she ever get past the fact that he’s changed? It’s a great journey they go on together; he’s determined to prove his trust, and she’s leery to let him. I absolutely loved revisiting all the characters again. Barbara is one of the best characters in this whole series, every part of it. I enjoyed it so much. I need more!
If you love to read Christina's books then you'll absolutely fall in love with this addiction to her series . A Blackwell Christmas is loaded with humor, sympathy, love and just down right fun ! Barbara Blackwell is at her finest in this story , finding her true soul mate again after a three years absence. Telling certain characters off in this book is just what the story needed . I truly loved this book and I believe you the reader will too !! I give it a 5 Stars Review
Wow. We’ve been waiting for this book with baited breath. It certainly didn’t disappoint. I loved Blackwell from the beginning. Who knew what lay beneath that frosty acerbic exterior. Her heart was just bruised and damaged not dead. She was like a butterfly emerging and it was a wonderful story seeing her emerge from her shell. I loved Marcus too. Seeing all our favourite characters in one book was magical. I can’t wait for the next instalment now
A most beautiful woman, with her own amazing story. Blackwell always has to be the support, keep up the facade everything is great, when it isn’t. Her heart is healing, yet still hurting, so when the love she gave up to protect herself is back, she fights against it. With Marcus back, can they both heal, lean to trust, and begin their story together! ❤️ Beautiful story for Blackwell and Marcus. Loved their story.
Christina Ross presents her readers with an amazing, heartwarming story on Barbara Blackwell the reappearance of Marcus Koch. Marcus and Barbara broke up on Christmas Eve three years ago and he's is back to have Barbara in his life again. Tank and Lisa have their own issues as Tank's mother, Ethel is back causing problems. Alex and Jennifer's son Aiden is ready for Santa. Very enjoyable series to read.
So good to have a new book from Christina. Exciting to enter the world of Barbara’s self talk. Who knew she could have such conflicting thoughts. It was great to see Marcus return. Can’t get enough of the old gang and the sharp and witty banter. Looking forward to more of this awesome group of characters (although sometimes they seem very real). Thanks Christina.
I loved this book and the love story it had to offer. I miss all the drama like I was ready to see Blackwell tear someone into pieces. Dang Ethel for not misbehaving a little bit lol. Now I'm ready for the next book. This series could go on for forever and I'd be happy.
Another wonderful book in the Annihilate Me series. The characters are still alive and I really enjoy the visual language that brings them to life. It makes you feel as though you are a part of their life too. Thoroughly enjoyed continuing the saga of Jennifer, Alex, Barbara and the others.
Marcus has come back into Barbara’s life. She refuses to acknowledge him because he unintentionally hurt her deeply and she does not want to hurt again. The characters were well written. All the different personages came together for a final farewell to Annihilate Me series. Maybe not?
Ms. Ross, I have enjoyed your writing since I first read Annihilate Me, Vol. 1. Fell in love with each character but was so excited the Blackwell got her own book. You never disappoint! Thank you!
A Very Blackwell Christmas (The Annihilate Me Series)
What a great book. Barbara has always been a wonderful character in this series, but this book has such a special effect of who she is. I couldn't stop reading.
Happy to have finally been able to read it. I love Blackwell and I’m look forward to hearing stories about Cutter and Daniella as well as Alexa. I also would like Christina to consider doing a second book for the Chance series.
I enjoyed reading this book. The characters are engaging and amazing the connection is undeniable throughout the pages. The storyline flowed easily throughout the pages. A must read!
I absolutely love this series and Christina Ross. Barbra is one of my favorites. Marcus is fabulous. I love how this story evolves and includes all the other characters. I hope there is more in this series regarding the other characters. Fabulous read.
Another Awesome read by Christina Ross. This was another book that I couldn't put down, I literally read this in 2 days. Barbara is so Awesome and it was good to see her find love - spoiler alert but I can't wait to read about this Ross wedding.
I have read everyone of the books in this series, but this one I could not put down. I loved that all the characters were somehow brought into the story. I hope that there will be more in the future. I hope to read more about Barbara and Marcus. So glad she finally realized he was the one.
I’ve loved every book in the Annihilate me series and this was no exception. The light hearted humour, the Christmas spirit and not least the relationships that continue to blossom….thank you Christina x
What a great story for Blackwell. I waited this long to be able to read it at my happy place on the lake and was so sad it ended. I wanted more. Can’t wait to hear more about all of the characters. Christina you knocked it out of the park.
This series has been a lifeline for me .. I always look forward to the next one and always will .. I truly believe sometimes these fictional characters are truly real!! And I love that feeling !! Thank you again
I really got sucked into the Annihilate series. They actually aren't very well written - even typos and poor grammar in the writing, but the characters are great and some of it is just so ridiculous it's like watching a train wreck.
Love Marcus and Barbara just goes to show you can still find love at any age. Would love to see an extended story about their wedding and friends. Love the whole Anniliate series.
Another great read By Christina Ross! Love the whole Annihilate Me Collection of books and this new one “A Very Blackwell Christmas” DOESN’T DISAPPOINT!!!!!
