MY NAME IS ARSHES MEGANE AND I AM IMMORTAL.

This all happened before, and everything ended. Six attempts gone – one attempt remains.
My mother, Catriona, is finally ready to unlock the secrets of her staff. Mandalee, the cleric of Light, has vowed to protect her. The machinations of the sorceress, Dreya the Dark, span three worlds, but even that may not be enough.
The final battle of the shadow warriors is upon them. Heaven’s Surrender will be used and the only thing that might protect the world is a Wish. Together, Cat and her friends, Light and Dark, must become the Guardians of Time & Magic and intervene. This time, before it’s too late.
On the eve of war, my plan unfolds, bringing my father a thousand years into the future. For the end of this war is not the Salvation of Tempestria, but the beginning of something worse and unless he can help me, it will mean the end of the world...again.
This is the story of The Salvation of Tempestria, as told by an immortal girl from the future using an Illegal Time Intervention to save the world…or possibly end it.

For anyone interested in my earlier work, the Majaos Trilogy may also be found at that same site. Majaos trilogy.

While studying for my B.Sc. in Chemistry, I met a friend who introduced me to fantasy fiction, especially TSR, AD&D type books. Despite all I've read since, that remains my frame of reference for the fantasy genre.

My Salvation of Tempestria of Series, beginning with Shifting Stars is rooted in a updated version of that kind of fantasy world. But it's just 1 world within a wider sci-fi/fantasy universe and the story is told by an immortal girl from the future with a plan to save the world...or possibly end it.

And the battle continues

Details: Shadows Fall Book three in The Salvation of Tempestria Series by Gary Stringer, Published January 1, 2021. For the best experience, this series should be read in order.

Plot: The forces of light and dark are back for their final showdown. It’s all or nothing in the battle that has been building over the series.

Thoughts:

Praise: Hands down, this has been my favorite book in the series. The interactions and relationships between these characters all blend nicely to help the reader form a bond with the individuals in the book. With one of my favorite characters Dreya, taking a larger role in this outing, I was hooked from the beginning. And, of course, what would the series be without our heroin Cat there to offer her off-the-cuff ideas on how to deal with not only Kullos but a big change for one of the other stand-out characters. I was glad to see Sara and Jessica back because I enjoyed their storyline. Add Mandalee and Daelen to the mix for the perfect balance of personalities. And with the huge reveal at the end of the book, I plan to begin book four Fragmented Control soon.

Cons: These are not issues with the book itself but more personal preferences. I was pulling for a different outcome for one budding relationship that sadly was not to be. Lastly, I love dragons, so a choice Dreya made was not a fan favorite with this reader.

Recommend: This is a perfect series for fans of genre blending Sci-Fi, Fantasy, and Magic. Gary Stringer does a nice job balancing each of these. In my opinion, there is no spice or triggers a reader would need to worry about.

Gary Stringer returns us to Tempestria as we witness the epic clash of time manipulation, armies, and magic with Shadows Fall! Arshes Megane is once again messing with time as her mother Catriona races to unlock her full powers before the dark plot of evil minds can ensnare them and end existence for a seventh and final time. Once more, Stringer weaves a wonderfully complicated plot but in such an elegant way that it’s easy to follow each character’s arc. I love seeing all these little seeds start to grow together in this really creative fantasy world that spans multiple worlds and time periods! We’re starting to get into some really epic fights with this one as war looms and a desperate time altering plan seeks to stop it. If you love fantasy with cool twists, epic battles, magic, and even some fun time travel baked in, definitely come zip yourself to Tempestria with Shadows Fall!

I've read the first three books so far and I like this one the best because it offers some resolution and closure that I really want when I read a book. That doesn't mean that all mysteries are solved, but the first three books told one story and it seems the series continues with a slightly different story, albeit I presume both are related in a way. There are great twists, the story moves fast and many things fall into place, making it an enjoyable read. My teenage son has read the series, and I think he said this one was the best

A little sci-fi, more fantasy, all with magic thrown in, blending together to give an enjoyable read. The character’s behaviors are especially entertaining - well done – and the interesting plot keeps you guessing. Very creative! Good book!
