Hold on to the Bible's promises of God's love, care, and protection with this coloring book devotional for kids. Each devotion includes Scripture , a reflection on the verse using kid-friendly examples, and a coloring page that illustrates the promise. This activity book for kids ages 6 to 9 features Enjoy hours of coloring God's promises with Kids will love personalizing this keepsake devotional as they color their way through each promise and reflect on God's goodness. Coloring God's Love for Me is a hands-on devotional for kids that makes an encouraging gift for summer vacation, birthdays, Christmas, and Easter.
Coloring God's Love for Me is a very nice devotional for children with heavy weight pages to color with markers, gel pens, pens, pencils, and crayons. It has topics that are on a child's level and might concern children, both those of happiness and anxiety, school or family issues. Included are scripture references that reassure the child of God's love for them His protection, and direction. There is an option for the children to write down thoughts and questions with the suggestion of learning verses. The book has some nice pictures to color and other activities, such as a maze. The book is rated for children 6 to 9 but I feel that my six-year-old grandsons might need some help reading the text. The coloring pictures are lovely but a little complex for younger children so my thoughts are that the age group could go higher than nine years old. That being said, this is a great thought provoking and comforting devotional with activities to engage the child and give them reassurance. It is a definitely a book that I will keep in mind for my grandchildren. I received a complimentary sample ARC from Thomas Nelson and NetGalley. I was able to read the book on my Kindle and see pictures on the NetGalley app on my phone. All thoughts and opinions are mine only.
I don't know about you but I have been a fan of coloring since I was little and could hold my crayon. Coloring God's Love for Me: 100 Devotions to Inspire Young Hearts by Janae Dueck is a quality coloring book that combines coloring with devotionals to inspire children ages 6 to 9--but I think it is inspiring for older children and adults too.
Coloring God's Love for Me has brief devotionals written in language that early elementary children can understand and relate to. Each one starts out with a Bible verse and follows with a short reading that relates to every day life today. Along with the coloring pages, there are also a number of activity pages that include journaling, mazes, drawing and more. It is a fun book with readings that could both inspire young hearts to learn and encourage them to grow, as well as help them express a creative side while they do it.

I really like this devotional coloring book! There are 100 devotionals; you could work through them day by day or pick and choose depending on your child's needs. (Or your needs; this is a devotional that I would enjoy as an adult, also!) Each devotional includes a Bible verse, devotional content, and a coloring page. While geared to kids 6-9, I think younger and older kids could enjoy this book - especially because the coloring pages vary from simple to intricate.
The book begins with a table of contents and helpful note to parents and also includes a couple crafts and other activities at the end. It looks like a very fun and very useful devotional for families!
Disclosure of material connection: I received this book from the publisher. I was not required to write a positive review, and the opinions expressed are my own.

Scripture Connection "I ask that you’ll have the power to grasp love’s width and length, height and depth, together with all believe." Eph. 3:18
Spiritual Themes While the devotional addresses a number of themes, the majority of the messages, like the title, point to God’s love and faithfulness.
Format The book begins with a note to parents, describing the content of the book and the value of combining artistic expression with meaningful faith principles/Scriptures.
Most of the 100 devotions begin with a title describing something God does (“God Puts Me Together,” “God Keeps Me Afloat”). Titles are written in bubble letters, so that they can be colored in, as well. Next, there’s a verse, followed by a few paragraphs discussing the verse in ways that are relevant or interesting to a young reader. For instance, Psalm 40:2 is about God lifting the writer out of the “sticky mud” (International Children’s Bible). Dueck describes sin like a muddy puddle: fun to jump in at first, but leaving you feeling icky.
On the opposite page, there’s a drawing or activity page. Some pages feature illustrations to match the theme of the devotion. Others include an invitation to interact with the theme in writing/labeling the picture, or drawing an illustration. At the back of the book, there are a few bonus activities, such as instructions for additional crafts and pages for children to craft their own illustrations, based on a key verse.
What I Liked The devotionals are fun and engaging to read. While this is definitely designed as a children’s book, I’m looking forward to coloring the pages and meditating more deeply on the message enclosed.
I like that God’s love is so prevalent, throughout. There are some messages about “doing things” (which isn’t really my favorite), like telling people about Jesus, but there’s also a lot about just resting in His love.
I like that the devotions are labeled as “Promise ____,” rather than “Day _____.” Based on the titles, I think that this could be used thematically, with specific activities selected based on life events, rather than as a daily book.
Dueck encourages parents to let children use the book as a workbook, which I also appreciate. I think it is so important to invite children to engage with their faith in different ways. Moreoever, within the book, the author often invites the reader to spend time with God in specific ways that makes sense to the reader. Off the top of my head, I remember something about praying (or reading the Bible) in a tree. She makes suggestions about writing praise songs and snuggling up with the Father, as well. This is so meaningful to me, because one of the challenges I encountered as a result of growing up in the church was grappling with a “one size fits all” experience of God. I so appreciate that Dueck encourages readers to use their unique, God-given gifts, when it comes to relating to Him. This is such a beautiful thing!
I like the variety in the coloring book. While some pages have words to color in or more intricate patterns, other pages include simple animals to color in. This allows the reader (or the parent) to choose a page that fits their mood / the amount of available time.
Recommendation Status I so appreciate that Dueck invites young readers to engage their creativity in relationship with the Lord. Although I didn’t 100% resonate with each message, this is a book I would definitely recommend, especially as a family activity. I could see this being purchased in duplicate for each family member, or potentially as part of home schooling curriculum.
This book was very well laid out and had some very lovely illustrations. I loved their simplistic look and the corresponding devotionals. Janae Dueck did a very good job tying everything together and I am very please with this coloring book.
The only few things I noticed about the book were that while this book is targeted towards "young hearts", the devotions are quite long and most young ones won't be able to read them. So, "young hearts" should be loosely interpreted I think.
5 Stars!

What a great gift this will make and I have it on my list for gifts for my grandchildren. Each page is a canvas for the artist and the words of God's love. Who He is and what He has done. With a verse and commentary, it also gives opportunity for parents to discuss how application can be applied. It is a great tool for families to do together and strengthen their faith and relationships.
A special thank you to Thomas Nelson Publishing and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.
An engaging activity book filled with faith promises . . .
The Table of Contents lists the 100 promises individually for quick reference. A 'Note to Parents' is a warm, welcoming review of the book's purpose and meaning which encourages parents to use the book with their child to maximize the learner's knowledge and understanding of God's promises.
Each 'Promise' begins with a title for the page. Promise 1 is 'God Keeps His Promises.' This is followed by a scripture containing the promise and a devotional written in language a child can relate to and appreciate. The facing page is a coloring page which applies to the promise. The artwork by this gifted artist is detailed and appealing.
The faith element throughout the book is strong, positive, and hopeful. This book would be an excellent family time devotional or small group devotional.
As a retired educator and literacy mentor, I was pleased with the number of literacy and spatial recognition activities the author included in this book. There are mazes, writing and drawing exercises, dot-to-dot pictures, and complete-the-picture pages. The Back Matter of the book includes several crafts for children to make that support a particular Promise devotional.
Highly-recommended for families, church libraries, small groups, and Sunday School teachers.

Coloring God’s Love for Me by Janae Dueck is a wonderful and adorable devotional for young children. It features 100 different devotionals, each one featuring a Bible verse and a corresponding coloring page. My seven-year-old was excited when he saw the cover and enjoyed reading it with me. I thought the devotionals were well geared toward young children, addressing topics that would interest them or worry them. They also did a good job of giving suggestions on how to grow closer to God–either through prayer or daily living. And the color pictures are so cute! Some of the coloring pages are more advanced than others, so they cover several age groups. And some of the devotionals have a journaling prompt instead (usually still with coloring or drawing involved). Overall, this is a great devotional for elementary-aged kids. And it would make a perfect gift, too! We are getting ready to take a road trip, and this book is going to tag along. We can have family devotional time, and the kiddo can color the pictures! Perfect! I was given a copy of this book by the publisher with no expectations for a positive review. All opinions are my own.
I love reviewing Children's books because I know I’ll be able to incorporate it into our daily routine and our homeschool life! Check out Coloring God’s Love for Me: 100 Devotions to Inspire Young Hearts by Janae Dueck and published by Tommy Nelson. I need to get another copy but so far I have been reading the devotional to my 6 and 7 year old at night and they color the page together while I’m reading to the older ones during our morning time! It’s been a great addition but my 11 year old would also like to partake! 😂 So I’ll be getting 2 more copies of these books.

Coloring God's Love for Me showcases 100 devotions for young people that are easy to understand and share such wonderful messages. Each devotion includes a Scripture verse and a complementing page with a fun task, such as finding your way through a maze, a personal drawing, answering questions, coloring designs, and more! What a fun, creative, and meaningful way to spend time with our Lord!
This coloring book devotional is marketed for children 6 to 9 years-old, but I feel it can be enjoyed by anyone of any age. What a sweet way to reflect on God’s promises and to devote more time to Him. Highly recommended!

My 8 year old daughter was excited to open up this book and see all the fun pictures to color that coincide with a devotional. There are 100 daily promises that point children towards the Bible. The pages are nice and thick and work well with pencils, pens, markers, or crayons. My daughter is excited to get started working her way through this beautiful book. We are saving it to accompany her homeschool in the fall. This would make a great gift!
Coloring God's Love for Me: 100 Devotions to Inspire Young Hearts, is part activity book and devotional that is just right for lower elementary school students in 1st-3rd grade. There are 100 "promises" for young readers (e.g. "God Calls Me By Name," "I Can Bless Others," "God Lights My Path" to name a few). Each promise contains a short Bible verse or passage, a 3-4 paragraph devotional based on the verse, and a full page coloring sheet, or activity/journal prompt. I found the devotionals to be age-appropriate, but was slightly disappointed to see the coloring pages were mostly licensed from clip art type websites, which explained the slightly disparate look with some coloring pages having a kawaii look, while others had a more intricate "adult coloring book" vibe, and then there was some word art, along with some traditional coloring book images. However, I think most kids will not care nor notice this like a former art major such as myself. The majority of the images and graphics for the coloring pages fit the theme of each devotional and I can envision many kids enjoying this book as their first devotional experience (and having fun being creative with the coloring as well).

Coloring God’s Love for Me: 100 Devotions to Inspire Young Hearts, by Janae Dueck, is a genuinely special book! This book is a wonderful source for pursuing the joy and calm that can often be found while spending time in artistic endeavors.
Helpful, artful, and worthwhile, Coloring God’s Love for Me is as useful as it is edifying. Grounded in a love for God, it is a practical and uplifting resource. A stunning addition to any child’s book collection, it would also make a great gift for any occasion. I recommend it enthusiastically.

I was so excited when I got approved for the Just Read Tours campaign for this cute coloring book! I knew it would be absolutely perfect for my 7yo daughter. When I received it, it did not disappoint! I have been able to find lots of religious coloring and activity books for my preschoolers, but Child 1 has complained to me in the past that it's hard to find these kinds of books that are for her age. Coloring God’s Love for Me: 100 Devotions to Inspire Young Hearts by Janae Dueck (publisher: Tommy Nelson) is absolutely perfect for elementary-age children. The devotionals are thoughtfully written for this age group, and the coloring pages are a little more detailed for children who have more developed fine motor skills. I gave this to Child 1 for her name day on Friday and she was thrilled. If you're looking for a good art book/devotional for your school-age child, you need to check this out!
Thank you to Just Read Tours, the author, and the publisher for giving me a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review!
This devotional is intended to be interacted with—each devotional meditation has an accompanying coloring page, and a few even have opportunities to journal or respond in writing. This is a good opportunity to read to your child while they are coloring. When I was young I always found it easier to listen to sermons or books being read aloud if I was drawing or coloring , so this is a great way to engage those children who are like I was. I found the coloring pages to fit a variety of age groups—some are for younger kids and some are adult-level. We appreciate using it, but one downside is that the pages are somewhat thin for a coloring book and pressing hard or using markers affects nearby pages. But overall it is a great way to interact with your kids while discussing Christian meditations. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. Coloring God’s Love for Me: 100 Devotions to Inspire Young Hearts by Janae Dueck combines learning with creativity.
Each devotion begins with a scripture and is written in simple language for elementary children with an illustration or activity (journaling, labeling, and more) that goes along with the promise for that day. There is a great variety of more detailed coloring pages and easy ones, which gives everyone something to color in this book. If this book was in my family when I was the target age, I would have colored the simpler pictures while my sister would have enjoyed the more complex ones.
I appreciate the use of the creative mind with scripture. As children spend the time coloring the picture, they can think about the devotion. It’s a great way to connect with God in a deeper way.
Overall, Coloring God’s Love for Me is a helpful tool to have on hand to train young ones up with quiet time with God.

Although it says ages 6-9 in the description; I feel like this coloring book is perfect for all ages. My son is almost 12 and we both enjoyed reading through this book and plan on coloring and journaling in it for our Sunday devotions this summer. All you need is this book and a set of crayons or pencils!
Each double page includes a promise, scripture and mini devotional. The page next to it is for coloring or journaling. The pictures are cute and large enough for kids to have fun coloring and not get bored or discouraged by small detailed coloring.
There are 100 mini devotionals included, for example: “God is Bigger Than My Troubles”, “God Gives Me Peace of Mind”, “God is Preparing Me for His Work”, “God Gives Me His Armor”….
The pages are thick enough for coloring and the variety of short devotionals are perfect for kids and short attention spans.
I received a copy of this book complimentary for blog and social media review. All opinions are my own.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. This book is adorable. The age range states for ages 6-9 but I enjoyed the book so much myself! The pictures are so cute and easy to color. The devotional on the opposite pages are so well written and inspiring. I highly recommend this book to the children and adults in your life. It’s very relaxing to color the pages and read God’s Word and then the sweet devotional that goes with it. This is something that I will be recommending to friends for a while and I’m so thankful to have received a copy.
My daughters were immediately in love with this children’s devotional from Tommy Nelson Books called “Coloring God’s Love for Me: 100 Devotions to Inspire Young Hearts” by Janae Dueck! It’s the perfect addition to your summer activities because it’s a great way to intentionally share God’s promises with your children in a fun, creative way. It invites kids to draw, color, and journal their way through 100 promises made personally to them by God! Each devotion includes Scripture, a reflection on the verse using kid-friendly examples, and a coloring page that illustrates the promise. You will be encouraging your children to spend time with their creator through coloring and CREATING, but you will also be spending quality time with them as you go through the devotionals with them.

Each page on the left side has a different scripture and short devotional with a call to action at the end. The right side of the coloring book has a variety of pictures varying in difficulty, games, and or places to journal.
I like the simple language and the thoughtful questions in the devotions that encourage young readers to apply the bible quote to daily life. The pictures have a variety of patterns and textures to fill in however creativity strikes. This can be a nice family time activity; read the story, reflect and answer the questions together. The kids get to color the pages or do the activities during or aftewards as a reward.

This is a delightful devotional for children and I would classify it for ages 8-12 or so because of the themes in the devotionals and the intricate coloring pages. It is a perfect book to share with your child, read it and discuss it together or it is also useful for the child to work on the devotionals and coloring pages alone. The topics are extremely pertinent for children, including things about giving God your burdens (with a suitcase at the visual aid) and going on an adventure with God as well as believing His promises and trusting Him. There are so many various topics that the book is not only useful but also applicable to various age groups and both genders. The writing is clear and precise, on age level for the ages I mentioned previously and relatable to children. The Scriptures used are practical and worth using as memory verses for the child. Parents will want to snap up this book to encourage creativity as well as a daily walk with God through a devotional made just for the children in their lives. The illustrations are amusing and appropriate for children. I enjoyed the sample of the book that was provided and look forward to receiving a hard copy. I have three or four grandchildren in mind who would enjoy this book and delving into God’s Word in a fun way that also allows them to express themslelves. I particularly liked the personal and thoughtful questions in each devotional that encourages the child to dig into their own habits and life and get closer to God. I have found coloring to be an enjoyable way to absorb scripture. Sitting and coloring while meditating on the words shared or creating an image related to the ideas, even just doodling while considering the purpose of the verses, allows my mind to take it in. Janae Dueck has brought us Coloring God’s Love For Me: 100 Devotions to Inspire Young Hearts.
This is a softback book that is about the size of your average paper – 8 1/2 x 11 inches. It has smooth pages with black print. The pages are thick enough to stand up to most children’s coloring with crayons but markers will likely bleed and colored pencils could tear the pages if the child colors hard.
This is a devotional book aimed at children ages 6 – 9. Each devotion includes two pages. There is a written portion which includes the title, the scripture being discussed, and a few short paragraphs bringing the passage to life in some way. There is decorative images around the devotion and the second page is typically a full page of coloring or an activity. Most of the pages are coloring pages, though there are some activities such as a puzzle to create, a complete-the-picture, instruction to draw something, or a short writing activity. There are 100 devotions in the book covering topics about God and what we can do through Him.
The devotions help children use scripture to look at the character of God. By learning about the character of God, they will find they are His children and that He holds dear plans for each of them. Learning about the truths of God and the depth of His love, children will learn more about the world and God’s people. This coloring books can help direct children to learn more about God’s promises to them.
This books could be a great addition to a vacation bag, a gift basket for Easter, a Christmas gift, or an every day encouragement. It would be wonderful to guide home Bible studies with younger children or make an addition to a Sunday school classroom. There are lots of different ways to use this book and bring encouragement and learning about God to elementary aged children.

Coloring God's Love for Me: 100 Devotions to Inspire Young Hearts takes the popular trend of Bible journaling and integrates it into a fantastic coloring book/devotional for readers aged 6-9 (although I believe that older readers/artists will be captivated as well). In 100 devotionals, Dueck offers a promise based on God's character, His interaction with His children, and His ways of moving in their lives. Each promise is connected with a Bible verse, which then leads into a devotional. On the opposite page is a coloring page that ranges from simple to very detailed, of animals, scenery, or even portions of Scripture.
Older kids will enjoy reading the devotionals and using their crayons, gel pens, or markers on the pages. Younger kids might need a little help from parents but will still enjoy the art process. Best of all, each drawing brings Scriptures to life in vivid ways that will help little hearts understand Scripture; and learn that it too is beautiful. This is a wonderful book that families and children will treasure.

Coloring God's Love for Me: 100 Devotions to Inspire Young Hearts is an amazing coloring book, devotional and journal all wrapped into one! My 11-year-old daughter was thrilled with this book (despite it being for ages 6-9). The messages are short and succinct, and the coloring images are fun, yet challenging. My daughter also liked that you don't have to do the pages in order. You can pick the image or message that speaks to you at that moment and dive right in.
The coloring book itself is great quality and the pages are sturdy and bright white. The look is reminiscent of an adult coloring book but geared towards children.
This coloring book would make a great addition to your vacation essentials list, providing your kids with hours and hours of positive messages and coloring fun!

I love the concept of this book - a coloring devotional book for kids. Each devotional includes a scripture passage, a devotional reading, and a page to color. Janae Dueck has a wonderful way of taking things that are familiar to children and tying them to scripture. Who would have thought of tying an ice cream truck to the good news of the Gospel. Or, comparing measuring your height on a wall to the fact that God is limitless. The artwork is appropriate for elementary-aged children. There is a wide-variety of subjects for both the artwork and the devotionals. I think this book would appeal to both boys and girls. Since this is a fill-in book, I would not recommend it for a school library. It would, however, be a great addition to a homeschool Bible curriculum or just a devotional tool for any family. I received a complimentary copy of Coloring God’s Love for Me. This is my honest review.
This is a thoughtful, age-appropriate and delightful children's devotional plus coloring book. The suggested ages are 6-9 years, and the book contains both simple and complex coloring pages to add to the devotional and help children remember the concepts. The application contained in the devotional is helpful and reinforces concepts.
I received a complimentary sample of the book without obligation. This review is my opinion.
Thank you to NetGalley for my ARC of Coloring God's Love for Me in exchange for my honest review.
Coloring God's Love for Me is a refreshing activity book! What a delightful devotional for children today. I loved the scriptures on each page, the opportunity for children to reflect on the scripture and the coloring pages that accompanied each scripture. This would be a wonderful gift for a baptism, first communion, birthday and more.
From the 19 promises out of 100, the devotional will excites your kids. They can color, sometimes draw, sometimes doing mazes throughout their journey with God. In their ups and down, they can count on God, and still looking forward to do something beautiful in the book. Slowly, but surely, kids will learn who God is, and defined who He is in their life. Such a wonderful book for kids from 6 to 9 years old.
What a wonderful book! I will order several copies to have on hand as gifts for my younger friends! The devotions are well-written and just the right length to hold the attention of the 6-9-year-old crowd. But, the illustrations to color are breathtaking. I just made order a copy for myself, after all I DO have a young heart!
Wonderful book! Well suited for ages 8+, this book can be a good conversation starter with your children. With beautiful pictures to colour, each theme points to a truth from God’s Word. The devotions are short but precise and well adapted for young ages. I can see many morning baskets filled with this book! Thank you Netgalley for this arc edition!
