If you haven't read the R.I.S.C. series by Anna Blakely this boxed set is a great intro to all the characters of Alpha Team and some characters that will become part of the Bravo Team. I loved each and every one of these Alpha protectors and the women who capture their hearts. There's some great fast paced action and edge of your seat suspense in addition to some angst and lots of spicy sizzle.
Taking A Risk; Part One
Jake McQueen, owner of RISC, and his team set out to eliminate members of the cartel who killed the woman he's loved for years only to discover that she was alive. Olivia Bradshaw is a survivor, a fighter and one tough woman. Jake rescues her and they trek through the jungle for days eluding the men chasing them. Jake and Olivia finally declare their feelings and finally get their HEA.

Jake and Olivia'ss relationship is just getting on an even keel after lots of missteps. The secret he's been keeping is inadvertently revealed. Olivia's life is once again on the line and Jake faults himself for not protecting her well enough.

How a man as gorgeous as Trevor could want her is beyond her. He goes all out to win this down-to-earth beautiful woman. When his past comes calling he goes into overprotective mode with Olivia.

I have mixed feelings about these. I find a lot of romantic suspense incredibly unbelievable, since the women frequently make boneheadedly stupid decisions which put them in thoroughly avoidable danger, and then they're rescued with no more than a scraped knee from being thrown in the back of a van when they were abducted. They're rarely hurt, even when kidnapped and held for weeks. Sure, that happens. Then there are books like these, where the women are captured, beaten, tortured, and almost killed, and everybody lives happily ever after. It's almost torture porn. I like the characters in these books, but I know what's coming for all the women, and I don't think I can go through this for 5 books in the Alpha series. God only knows what's in store for the Bravo and Charlie series women. And the typos don't help either.

This is the first 4 stories in the R.I.S.C collection. These stories center around four couples and the hurdles they overcome to be together. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this collection of books. I couldn't stop reading once I started. Get these books ASAP and find out what the excitement is about. Sorry, no spoilers.
