I follow Felicia on Instagram and I’ve always really admired her art style. Immediately jumped to order this when I found out she was publishing one of her sketch books.

There is a kind of serenity about her sketches, yet they’re always laced with emotion and it’s palpable, especially when it comes to despair - that one really comes through. I loved flipping through the pages, and I can see myself coming back to it over and over again.

Art is objective, though, so my opinion about this probably won’t be the same as others.

In a normal book review I would praise how amazing the artwork itself is, and the content of the book. But this one goes further. In order to imitate that sketchbook feeling, it has post its in some pages, the color guide of the author with names of colors, and each pages back side shows the ink from the previous page drawing seeping through.

I would have given it 5 stats because I love the art, but the estará detail on making this book feel like a real sketchbook makes it extra excellent.
