Mainly because I’ve told him so every day since I’ve met him.
I wish that I could just avoid him for the rest of my life but that’s hard to do when we live in this small town.
I thought that we were on the same page about ignoring each other but then one night he shows up at my bakery and offers me a deal.
One that I promptly reject but when he jams his foot in my door and refuses to leave until I hear him out, I relent.
He wants me to be his girlfriend.
It would be fake, obviously. We just need to make it look good and fool his family so that they don’t try to set him up while they’re in town.
In exchange, he’ll help me get my bakery up and running.
I would be an idiot to say yes, but there is a lot of work to be done and we’d only have to pretend for a few days. I can handle it.
Or I thought that I could, but the more time that I spend around the grumpy giant, the more I start to see that he might not be as bad as I first thought.

Adorable: This was a sweet, simple story but it was still refreshing and a delight. It is perfect for those who love small town romance and endearing characters. I thought Hartley and Elijah made a cute couple and I was so happy to see things work out for them. I liked that there wasn't any unnecessary angst or drama, just a sweet unfolding of two hearts becoming one. I look forward to continuing on with the rest of this new series. This is such an excellent read. Elliot is a big man, 6'7” and has been made fun of most his life. Hartley just moved to the small town of Honey Peak to open a bakery, a dream she and her grams had. The first time she meets Elijah they do not hit it off. But when Elijah asks Hartley to be his pretend girlfriend for his cousins wedding they decide to make a deal. So after negotiating with Hartley they start their fake girlfriend/boyfriend relationship. This is one of the best fake boyfriend books I have read. It is so well written, you get to know all the characters so well. And all the characters are so likable. It is such a fun read, lots of steamy scenes and you can just see the main characters falling in love and them not even realizing it. I loved this book you can not go wrong reading it. I'm looking forward to reading more from this author.

What started out as pretending, quickly turned into something better. Neither Hartley nor Elijah were looking for what they found, but they sure did embrace it when they realized it. Great start of a new series and so excited for more to come.

This is book number 1 of the Honey Peak series and focuses on Elijah and Hartley. Hartley is brand new in Honey Pine. She needed a change of pace after the death of her grandma who had raised her almost her entire life. They had a dream to open up a bakery together but it never happened. After her death, Hartley put a plan into place to finally work on making their dream a reality. Elijah is a lifelong resident and the owner of the trading post in Honey Pine. He has always been the town loner and is used to being alone. He never felt like he quite fit in anywhere in town. When Hartley goes into his store to get some winter gear, they definitely don’t have a great first meet. When he needs a date for a wedding, he asks Hartley to be his fake girlfriend for a few days to avoid being set up by his mom. In exchange, he will help her with getting her bakery up and running. They agree to the fake relationship but it doesn’t take them long to realize what they want is far from fake. This story had me hooked from the first word to the last word. I absolutely loved Elijah and Hartley together. This was such a wonderful story from start to finish. Great introduction to the series.

Hartley recently moved to the town of Honey Peak hoping to start up a bakery which her deceased grandmother had encouraged her to do. There is definitely lots of work going to be needed to get it ready for business. Elijah Grove’s parents are coming to town and he needs a fake girlfriend while they are in town. If he doesn’t have a girlfriend to take to his cousin’s wedding, his mom has threatened to find someone for him. So he stops by to talk to Hartley, who doesn’t like him very much because of an “incident” she won’t soon forget (and probably half the town won’t either). But he offers to help her get the bakery repairs completed in return for her being his fake girlfriend for the week.
Although neither of them were looking for a relationship in the beginning, their time together had them falling hard for each other. They were good together. Would this relationship work out if they gave it a chance for real?
This is book one in The Honey Peak series and it is Elijah and Hartley's story. When Elijah and Hartley met for the first time things didn't go well but when he asked her to be his fake girlfriend for his cousins wedding she decides to help him out not knowing that it will change both of there lives. This is a beautiful story about two people who are vulnerable for different reasons but they really complimented each other even though they were the totally opposite of each other and I loved watching them grow together and get stronger and go from fake to real and be so perfect for each other and the outcome was just what I was hoping for as they both deserved the happy ending. This Book has great characters and a storyline that kept your attention throughout and I couldn't put it down and look forward to reading more book's in this series.
Hartley moved a small town in Michigan for a new start after her grandmother died. She moved in the dead of winter and certainly didn't have clothes for the weather. She goes into the Trading Post store to get some warm clothes and boots. Eli is there to help her and when she gets the zipper stuck on a coat, he helps her pull it off over her head taking her sweater with it. What a start! When rumors start through the town and his parents coming to visit, he talks her into being his fake girlfriend. He helps her get her bakery ready to open and they become friends which leads to more. Way more. I loved the characters, especially Brennan, Such a sweetheart.

Hartley and Elijah's story is the first book in the Honey Peak series and is filled with sparks - some good, some not so.
Hartley just moved to town, following the dream she had with her grandmother to open a bakery. Elijah owns the town's trading post and like being by himself. When Hartley walks into the story, the tension between Elijah and Hartley could be cut with a knife.
Hartley and Elijah have a rocky start to the relationship, but when Elijah ask for help, Hartley does not mind helping him, if he helps her with bakery. Their story is sweet that tugs at your heart and is perfect to get lost in.

Hartley needed a change after the death of her grandmother. She was raised by her and the two had a dream of opening a bakery together. She plans to make dream a reality in Honey Pine, where she has just moved to.
The local trading post is owned by Elijah Grove, who is more of a loner. He needs a date for wedding, to prevent his mother from setting him up, so he asks Hartley to pretend to be his girlfriend. In exchange for helping him, he will help her get her bakery up and running.
As with most fake relationship, proximity tends change fake to possible. This a really sweet story.

This was an amazing fake relationship romance. It was a storyline that really tucked at my heartstrings, both Hartley and Eli were very vulnerable, her from losing her grandmother and him from years of feeling different. I really felt for him especially when he said that who would want to date the giant. It was just such an emotional statement and it just got to me. I loved the way the story was written, getting both of their points of view. This was just such an amazing story.
This was a fantastic story! Hartley had just list her grandma, her only family and moved from Georgia to Honey Peak to open their dream bakery. Eli was a grumpy loner, he never looked for love as he felt no one would want to date a giant like him. They were both lonely and vulnerable. When Eli asked her to be his fake girlfriend while his parents were in town it started a beautiful friendship which turned into true love. Sweet, steamy love story with amazing chemistry and a truly wonderful HEA.

This is the first book in the Honey Peaky series and is a wonderful way to start! Elijah is so sweet, but he lives locked up in his own insecurities, which is why he desperately needs a girl like Hartley. Hartley had a life-shattering loss, but she has clear goals for herself. It is so sweet to read how the relationship between them progresses, how it goes from a feigned commitment to a strong friendship that ends in good love. I loved it, sweet, tender and wonderful.

book is terrible (because there are worst ones out there), i just wasn't invested in it somehow. it is lacking in something which i don't know what, lol.
like what is the focus of the book? the fake relationship? the heroine starting a bakery? i think every "event" just feels very superficial, not in depth enough for readers to understand what the author is trying to express.
additionally, in the beginning chapters where the heroine was calling the hero an asshole, i don't really feel that the hero was giving asshole vibe but the heroine being rather defensive on the contrary.
overall, it's very bland, halfway through the book i was pretty bored out already.
Hartley & Elijah (i always loved the name), fake relationship who becomes their best friend is one of my fav trope. There is trust in the relationship. I like how Eli had his own insecurities because of his height & not a manhoe. & of course Brennan was such a cutie pie. I think the next book will be of Patrick’s & can’t wait for it.

This was such a sweet story! Hartley has just moved to a new town to get her dream bakery started. She has no time for relationships. Eli is kind of the town loaner and not interested in a relationship, either. From a ridiculous meet-cute, to the fake dating that turns into such heat, this story is such a beautiful gem!

You had me a fake dating... this had major enemies to lovers vibes with is one of my FAVOURITE romance genres and I couldn't devour it fast enough. The storyline was focused on their romance and I loved reading as their relationship progressed and changed until you knew there was no going back. This is a book that I will certainly be revisiting again in the future... it answers all your romance cravings!!.
This was a really great book. I really enjoyed Hartley and Elijah together. Even though these 2 are opposites they are perfect for each other. What was supposed to be pretend turned into so much more for both Elijah and Hartley. I really enjoyed this book, and I am looking forward to this new series.
I received a free e-book copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest.
A cute, sweet, steamy read about a fake relationship between new-to-town bakery owner, Hartley and town loner, giant and Trading store owner, Elijah, neither one wants a relationship but love has a way of changing things.

I love a new series and this one is no exception. There is so much feeling in this story, you fall in love with the characters and the town. Elijah is a bit of a gentle giant and Hartley is sweet and cute. Their fake relationship is a great start to the new series, I can’t wait for more!.

I really enjoyed this story. Elijah is self conscious because he is so tall so he never really dates. Hartley moved to Honey Peaks after her grandmother died to open a bakery and she never really dated either.. I liked how the friendships and family were described and played out. Elijah's mom was the best. I would recommend this book.
I enjoyed Hartley and Elijah's story! Elijah was grumpy and liked being alone whereas Hartley was the opposite. I loved the scene when Hartley got a coat stuck in his shop as it brought Elijah out of his shell and to think to use Hartley as a fake date in exchange for him to do jobs for her.
This was freaking amazing!!! So much fun with characters that made me smile, captured my imagination, stole my heart and made me melt! Loved it. Another fantastic book by the amazing and very talented Ms Wilder!! Happy reading everyone
This was my first read from this author and I really enjoyed it. It was sweet but had some really steamy moments. I would definitely recommend this book and will be checking out other books from this author.
