Gritty, intense, and Biblically accurate while allowing artistic license, this first part in Samson's story is perfect for anyone who wants to delve deeper into the life of a well-known, but under-appreciated Biblical character!

I read a lot. Over the last 5+ years, I've averaged more than 15 books per month. Audio, ebook, paperback, etc. And stacking this up against all of the different books I encounter, my opinion is that The Rise of Samson is really an amazing book. I liked this book enough that I actually purchased another copy as a gift for someone else. To me, a 5-star recommendation means that I would recommend it to everyone and not just people that typically read this kind of book.

Jeff Meredith has written an adventure that keeps the reader engaged and immersed in what is ultimately a fun story from beginning to end. The atmosphere he's created feels very authentic to the time period. Several sections of this book brought ancient Israel to life–so to speak–in my mind, and as much as the character of Samson is arrogant and stubborn, he still comes across in this story as being funny and approachable.

All in all, this is a great book. I recommend it to anyone looking for their next good read.

After reading this book I realized how little I knew about Samson. The story was enlightening and it was like being back in Bible times. The author did an amazing job depicting what it was like back then and I loved being able to be in the kind of a hero I had always heard about in the Bible.

Great read- witty and imaginative, really brought me back into a time and place of history and wondering what it was like. Had some laugh out loud moments and look forward to seeing what the author does with the rest of the story.
