What little one hasn't wished to find a lost toy?
Simon has a bouncy red ball that he plays with everywhere until the day he accidentally drops it into the stream and it floats away. Seeing a star that night he wishes for a new ball and the next morning that is just what he finds on his pillow.
This ball is special. The more it is played with, the more joy it brings, the bigger its magic grows it each night. Over the next year, Simon's Bouncy Town Ball has adventure after adventure, bringing joy to Simon's friends and eventually bringing the whole town together. The tale ends in a way that will have little ones searching high and low and making their own wishes.
I cannot express enough how much fun this book is. It is the perfect story circle book. Young listeners will be on the edges of their seats, mesmerized by the rhyming story, eagerly anticipating what happens next. The adventure is a bit reminiscent of James and the Giant Peach in its scope. Of course, it also would make the perfect bedtime story.
The small blocks of text will encourage emergent readers to read independently, and the length of the story is perfect for early readers ready to transition to longer/chapter books. The youngest not-yet-reading fans of this book will still enjoy exploring the story on their own as the colorful full-page illustrations are filled with details and perspective capturing their eye. There is always something more to see on every page. I am very much looking forward to another collaboration between this author and illustrator

‘When you wish upon a star…’ – Be careful
Author Kelly Kas steps into the children’s book genre with a fresh idea – stories of sufficient length to engage a child’s attention span and provide a little excuse for not having to dose off so soon… Her intended audience group is children ages 5 – 8, and their patient and curious parents or other readers. The fanciful illustrations are provided by Pencil Master Studios.
Written in a charming rhyming fashion, we meet Simon – “Mom, there’s a contest! Simon said with a grin. It’s for a spring field trip. The whole team could win!” Excited, he practices with his red ball, taking it everywhere, until he drops it in a creek. Frustrated knowing he was to blame for the loss, he wishes on a bright star for a new big ball – his wish comes true with a new ball, not a bigger one but a ball just the same. That night the ball bounces and becomes big, and continues to grow bigger. Simon keeps his new large ball secret, but it continues to grow so that when his parents discover the huge ball, it is pushed outside where it is struck by a truck and bounces into the woods. The ball becomes a wonder in the neighborhood: Simon stays by the ball and studies, filled with wonder. Seasons pass and Simon wins the contest to see the Yankees play, but on the flight home the Big Ball causes the plane to land. The townspeople celebrate the protected (by Big Ball) landing of the plane. The following week a Walt Disney movie is made – Bouncy Town The Movie and Simon is a star. But the story is not finished: a tornado strikes, launching the Big Ball, and when it crashes by the town hospital the townspeople decide the Ball must go. Wishing on the wishing star, Bouncy Town Ball explodes into many new balls that spread throughout the globe – waiting to be found by others…

A Fun Adventure
A beautifully rhyming and beautifully illustrated story book About a boy Simon and a bouncy magic ball. This book is great for children of all ages. It’s a bit of a longer story book which would be great to read at bedtime. The red bouncy ball keeps you on your toes and each page is a bit more surprising than the last!

A fantastic story for young and old(er)! 😃
The story was great! The pics were beautiful. It was great to read. I am going to look for more of her books. I just wish for an ebook the print was a little bit bigger. ( bad eyes) but all in all one great read!!

Fun book
My kids & I liked this book a lot. It's a little longer than most picture books, great for kids just getting ready to move to chapter books. The pictures are well done as well.

Cute Story

Loved the rhyming!

Great bedtime story!
My son loves this book. It helps him fall asleep fairly quickly as well. Good bedtime story and enjoyable for adults.
