A Ghoulish Midlife I was in the mood for something lighthearted and just plain silly. This book fit that bill to a T. The majority of this story is spent introducing us to the characters and the ultra quirky town of Shipton Harbor. These included a possibly-undead cat with loads of attitude, a ghoul butler who reminded me of my very favorite Benson episodes, and a sentient house that does not want to be sold. The murder mystery is a fairly small part of the story. However, the Keystone Cops approach Ava has to the whole affair left me howling with laughter. Since humor was the main reason I picked this book, I’m pretty much okay with that. I thought these characters were a lot of fun and I’m looking forward to reading more about them. Cookies for Satan This story was a very quick interlude in their lives. It was a lot of fun to see these characters in some quieter moments where it wasn’t so much a case of ‘life or death’. I have to say, I don’t think I’ve ever pictured the devil quite the way the authors have presented him here, and that was a lot of fun. I also really enjoyed the sweet, and silly, spirit of their holiday season. I'm With Cupid This was another fun slice of Ava’s life during a ‘quieter’ time. I got a kick out of getting to know Luci and some of the other personalities around Ava better. I also suspect that this is setting up some of what’s going to come next. One thing I noticed by binging the series is that there are some of the details in this story that conflict with what I read in the first book. However, in spite of those small hiccups, I can’t wait to read more about these characters. A Cursed Midlife I really liked that the mysteries were a more ‘front and center’ part of the plot in this book. We’ve had a chance to get to know most of the weirdness surrounding Ava, so it feels like a logical next step to focus on what she’s doing with all this awesome power she’s been gifted with. At first, I was excited that this book was putting to rights the details that got flubbed in the intervening novellas. At least, I was until this book started to perpetuate the errors introduced in the novellas. Outside of that, there are some interesting questions that remain to be answered about Ava’s powers, her past, and even her heritage. I’m very curious to see what the authors have to tell us about those in the books to come. A Girlfriend for Mr. Snoozerton This was light and silly and fluffy. I quite liked that most of this story was about Ava’s mysterious and ever-growing powers. It appears that she has more abilities than even she, or anyone who knows the prophecy of the Howe necromancers, was guessing at. It also introduces some new complications into Ava’s life and I’m very curious to see what effect they’ll have. I received a complimentary copy of this book through Booksprout.
These book are so so so entertaining, I just love them and the characters..oh my...they are something else. Having a box set is the best as no waiting between books. You know, I cannot say too much because I want you to enjoy each character and event as it unfolds. If you have an imagination, bit of wit and a sense of humor you will love these books as I do. I also have them individually in audio version and recommend them as well. RECOMMENDED
This boxset contains five books from the beginning of the Witching After Forty series and features half witch half necromancer Ava Howe Harper as she returns to her aunt’s family home in Shipton Harbour. A Ghoulish Midlife She was last there for her Aunt Winnie’s funeral a year ago and to close up the house, but hadn’t felt up to coping with anything else at the time. It is five years now since her first love Clay died in an accident and now her other love, her son Wallie has left home in Philly to go to Harvard University to study medicine. She used the last of her husband’s insurance money to pay for all of Wallie’s education, so now she needs to sell Aunt Winnie’s house to be able to keep her home in Philly. She heard that the house was supposed to be imbued with magic, having been the family home for hundreds of years, if not longer, but since it had been closed up for a year without magic she presumed it was all gone. She runs into a former high school nemesis, Olivia, who married her childhood best friend Sam Thompson and had a son together, Sammie, who she falls in loves with. She never thought she would be friends with Olivia, but she soon finds she is completely different to her former self and they become good friends. She has to call in a contractor to get the house fixed up, ready to sell, but it seems the house isn’t happy with that, and the contractor keeps losing workers after they are spooked by strange sights, items moving around on their own and strange noises as well. She suddenly finds herself able to write again for the first time in decades, which is amazing and might hopefully provide her with an income source. She also gets a job at the local bookstore with the nerdy Clint, but is shocked to find the dead body of someone she knows out by the dumpster behind the shop. The man who has died was a necromancer, unknown to her, and she drives his shocked wife Penny home after the police have finished with them, where she finds another shock. Her husband had a ghoul called Alfred and Penny asks her to take him, as without a necromancer to keep him controlled, he will go feral and start killing folks! A surprise visit from her childhood cat, Mr Snoozerton, who seems not to have aged much at all and leaves her wondering where he has been all this time. The dead body is the first of many and Ava and Olivia will soon find themselves in the thick of the investigation. Sam is the deputy sheriff in town and knows about magic from Ava’s childhood, whilst his boss, Drew Walker, the sheriff, becomes a new love interest for Ava. He is a witch hunter and comes from a long family line of hunters, but gave up his legacy and refused to hunt innocent people, just because of their magic. Ava herself has repressed all of her powers since she lost her mother as a child, so has no real idea how to use her powers. Another necromancer she meets, Owen, begins to train her in her necromancy. Cookies for Satan (Christmas novella) Olivia asks Ava to summon Santa for Christmas, but their spell goes a bot sideways and they end up with a very sext looking man in a suit appear, but he is definitely not Santa! His name might begin with the same letter, at least one of the names he goes by, but he asks them to call him Luci. She wanted to have a big community party and invite everybody to the newly renovated home and it will be Ava’s first Christmas there for years. She can have a huge tree in the window and get Sammie to help her decorate the tree, with a bit of magic as well, which he loves. He pushes his way into their lives, soon starting a relationship with the local school teacher Carrie, and appearing anywhere Ava might be, in an instant. He interferes with whatever they have going on and whilst they start looking for a spell to banish him, he pops in to tell them it isn’t that easy to get rid of him! They even hunt out her grandmother Yaya’s grimoires from the attic and whilst they don’t help with banishing St. Nick, at least they show a lot of family history and her cat leads them to an old relic, which she can use to communicate with an imprint of Yaya. A nice touch of family, ideal for the holiday period. Luci decides that he likes the town and ends up moving in next door to her, in a house he has appear instantly. I’m With Cupid (Valentine novella) Ava is still moving slowly in accepting she is in a relationship with Sheriff Drew and they still haven’t managed to have an actual first date together. They finally head off on their date for Valentine’s Day and are just getting comfy at their table, when Luci and Carrie appear and crash their date! Luci gets their young waitress all flustered and uses his powers on her to get a free meal for them all. Not that they actually stay in the small restaurant, as Luci suddenly whisks them all off to Paris, France, with a wee mishap on directions first time round. Drew and Ava do actually have a great time, getting to see a couple of her favourite places, she never dreamed she would ever see, and all in private, with no crowds. That has to be one advantage of knowing Luci at least! When they get back to Shipton, Owen continues her necromancy lessons, soon finding out she is a lot more powerful than he ever could have thought. It seems, she is definitely living up to the family prophecy of the seventh generation producing the most powerful witch and necromancer ever! One lesson brings a strange visitor to her door. It is a human skeleton, who calls himself Larry and can actually speak! He wants Ava’s help to find out who killed him, decades ago. A Cursed Midlife Alfred the ghoul still doesn’t talk, his mouth it sewn up with a thread loose at the side, which Ava’s cat seems to like to try and pull. All he can do is grunt, nod or shake his head. Ava decides to show him how to use a tablet to communicate, since he can already work a TV remote and the gaming console. He ends up as a great asset in the house, which is growing in inhabitants and visitors all the time. He loves to cook and clean for all of them, however much Ava tries to tell him he doesn’t need to. She gets a magical message from the local witch coven, inviting Ava, Owen and Wallie to a get together at the coven leader’s home, but Ava isn’t keen on going. She knows the coven refused to let her father join, as he was a necromancer and they refused to allow any sort of dark magic in the coven itself. The coven also stuck to old guidelines and never admitted more than thirteen witches into the coven. With the additional recent murders of witches, all from the coven, dying from what seem to be freak accidents, Ava and Olivia soon find out that these murders can be traced back for decades! After her mother’s death, her aunt and gran both left the coven and withdrew from interacting with them. A silver coin with a distinct imprint seems to have been found in the pocket of each of the recent murder victims and Ava even finds one linked to her own mother’s death, which means it was murder, not an accident. It clearly isn’t witch hunters that are doing this, but a witch! One of her necromancy sessions brings her a young ferret shifter, taken from his parents and used in an illegal fight club. She returns the young boy’s body back to his parents, only to find out their other young son has been taken. As they are shifters, they aren’t involving the police. The investigation soon shockingly brings links to the coven and the murders of the witches!
A Girlfriend for Mr. Snoozerton (Novella) This short story has Mr Snoozerton wanting Ava to use her powers to heal a cat he has fallen in love with! He isn’t taking no for an answer. Ava has now been made the Head Witch of the coven and those bad apples have been kicked out and Luci dealt with the two behind the killings and the shifter fighting ring. Ava has taken in young tiger shifter Zoey and is giving her lessons on controlling what parts of her body remain shifter. Zoey has problems completely shifting into her human body, whether that was because she was dead and then animated, is unclear. Ava’s Uncle Wade calls her with news of her Philly home and that a buyer has finally been found for her home with Clay. This house sale links to another series with the character of Haley Whitfield. Snoozer has been missing for a while, ever since chasing Zoey’s tail around the grounds. A spell can’t even find him, meaning he is somewhere that is warded magically. Ava and Olivia decide to check out Luci’s house first, since that is so close by, but no one is home and they find a few fascinating rooms in his basement, which are very tempting! Not finding the cat, they go back to Ava’s house and spot Snoozer surrounded by everyone else and acting really erratically. He obviously wants them to follow him and they end up in the clearing where she has been practising her powers, but this time there is a small white cat that looks like it has only recently died. Larry seems to understand Snoozer and Alfred and translate for him. Apparently Snoozer tells Larry that he is in love with this cat, called Lucy-Fur. When Ava heals and brings the female cat back to life, Owen says she must be one of the rare, thought mythical necromancers that can both heal and raise the dead! She seems to be able to heal and make the person or animal better than it ever was, possibly immortal in the case of Mr Snoozerton aka Snoozer and so many other nicknames. Even Larry gets a makeover, as she gets to practise her powers. The shocking development comes when Lucy-Fur actually speaks to them! A great assortment of stories, with one missing near the end, of Olivia trying to help through a birthday party for Drew, but facing issues with Winston, the house, not being very happy with her and messing with her! I had missed some of these stories before, having only started on some of the later stories in the series, so this was a great ways to catch up on all of the story from the beginning and getting to read all the short stories that are part of the whole. There are plenty of laughs, a touch of romance and loads of magic mixed into all of the stories, with some amusing side characters added to Ava’s family and home, including the magical sentient house itself! I prefer to read longer books, so when a boxset comes along, it makes an ideal read for me, where I can catch up with loads of different books of the series, all in one go. Another boxset covers the second half of the series and I look forward to reading it soon and catching up on any short stories I may have missed first time round. I received an ARC copy of this Boxset from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the books above.
A Ghoulish Midlife Widow Ava is a 40 plus unique witch in that she is a Necromancer who can Heal. Her plans of fixing up her family home to sell dont go as planned when she starts making friends and needing to solve a murder of an old family friend who was a Necromancer also. I really like Olivia Ava 's new best girlfriend who just happens to be her Best Friend Sam's wife and old high school nemesis. We also have her getting a Ghoul as a butler of sorts named Alfred. Her cat Snooze is so funny. he actually becomes Alfred's constant companion because they have something in common. Drew is the Hot Sheriff who is also a Witch Hunter who doesnt want to hunt and the one who attracts Ava. My favorite scene is the Lighthouse scene it was so funny. Then we have Owen who is also a Necromancer who moves in with her and also is teaching her to control her Powers. All in all this story packs a punch and is so cute and funny Cookies for Satan Ava and her crew are back and accidentally summon Satan and not Santa, while planning a Christmas Party they are inviting the town to, in this cute and funny novella based at Christmas time. I loved when they have to go hunting for him when he leaves the house only for him to turn up the next night at their Party and tell them that he is moving in next door because he Likes Ava. Hehe I'm With Cupid Drew and Ava finally get their date only for it to be hijacked by Luci and his date Carrie but he doesnt ruin it at all he actually takes them to Paris France to tour the Louvre and also on top of the Eiffel Tower to watch the Sun rise. SO sweet of him right. A Cursed Midlife Ava and the gang are back and now have to find out who's killing the witches in the local coven. The mystery is great and the found family of Ava are just fantastic. I love every character. We also find out what really happened to her mom and that she has decided to sell the home she lived in with her late husband Clay. Luci is so fun also. A Girlfriend for Mr Snoozerton This was a cute novella. In it we have Snooze finding a mate named Lucy-Fur hehe. And also Larry gets a body.
A Ghoulish Midlife: After the death of her aunt, Ava heads to Shipton Harbor to clean out her Auntie's house. While there a friend is mysteriously murdered and Ava goes into necromancer investigative mode. A Ghoulish Midlife is an intriguing story about a necromancer who uses her powers to solve a murder and along the way she meets some quirky characters. I loved this story from the humor to the great storyline this is a definite must read. The writing is well done and the characters are well developed. Cookies For Satan: Cookies For Satan is a funny Christmas novella in the Witching After Forty series and I loved it. I will admit I had a smile on my face and had a few laugh out loud moments while I was waiting for my husband at the dentist's office. The storyline is fantastic, the characters are quirky and fun and the unexpected twist made this a page turning read. I'm With Cupid: Ava's life has changed a lot since moving back to her hometown. In this book we are taken on a crazy ride as Ava and Drew go out on a date and Lucifer takes over. But that's not the only thing happening in town and you need to read this series to find out what all the fun quirky characters are up to. I am loving this series from the humor to the great characters this is a definite must read. The characters are well developed and I can't wait to read the next book in this series. A Cursed Midlife: Ava and an interesting cast of characters are back in A Cursed Midlife. From the quirky characters to the entertaining storyline this is an interesting murder mystery. With a bit of drama, action, humor, suspense, secrets, and a budding romance this is a great addition to the Witching After Forty series. A Girlfriend for Mr. Snoozerton: Ava's cat Mr. Snoozerton has found himself a girlfriend named Lucy-Fur, one problem she's dead. The writing is great, the characters are quirky and the story is filled with humor, cat drama, and so much more in this entertaining addition to the Witching After Forty series. I am loving this series with all the quirky characters and fun storylines. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
We begin the collection with 'A Ghoulish Midlife.' We get to follow Ava, a necromancer who can raise the dead, who is in her forties. Come to find out, she is also half witch. We get to watch the good times and the not-so-good times. Who are Wallie and Clay to Ava? I laughed at the 'mad money' comment/thought, and even more so when I saw who or what Mr. Snoozerton was/is. As soon as Sam showed up, I was in tears. Where does our first dead body crop up? Who is the mystery woman? How is it that Ava's secrets keep coming out? I laughed at the end of the first story. The second story is Cookies for Satan, and by the end of chapter three, things go completely awry. It was too funny! Oh, Luci is a hoot! This was not quite what I expected for this Novella. The third story is our second novella in I'm With Cupid. Oh boy, things get even crazier in this story, just in time for Drew and Ava's first date. Who and what is Larry? What does he want Ava to do? Watching Luci show up with Carrie and then hijack Drew and Ava's date was amusing. This was a fun read. In the fourth book of this volume, we had A Cursed Midlife. This is the second regular installment in the series, and we begin learning more about the missing shifter children. What does Ava do with her found family? Who is Zoey? What happens when a coven of witches is given a truth potion and asked questions is funny. I was furious when I discovered the truth about Ava's mom. When Drew hollers for Ava to go back inside, things get very interesting. Oh, towards the end, things happened that had me grinning. Read to see what happened. In the third novella of this volume, we have So, Mr. Snoozerton gets a girlfriend. While trying to help Zoey with her shifting, things get funny in the backyard. It was fun to see inside Luci's house. The ending after bringing back Mr. Snoozerton's girlfriend was a blast. I laughed so hard!
5 book review A ghoulish midlife: A different type of midlife crisis, great story! After her husbands death and now her favorite aunt, Ava is trying to get the family home ready to sell. Things are not going well. The house is sentient and not happy and then murder happens! Then Ava runs into other paranormal people and things start to get interesting. She's a part time author and her mojo is kicking in... fixing up the house is first priority and after the murder all kinds of weird stuff begins happening! Looking forward to the next chapter in Ava's story! Cookies for Satan: Hilarious! Talked into having a Christmas party Olivia decides they should try summoning St. Nick. The gang decides to try only things go a lil bit wrong and Satan appears instead. Lucifer leaves and the chase begins... he disappears and now it's party night. Everyone, EVERYONE, shows up n has a great time. Lucifer, "Santa," is a big hit and things end really well. Now Ava has a new neighbor...Lucifer! I'm with Cupid: A stupid sweet and cute first date story! Ava ad Drew finally go on that date and Lucifer shows up and invites himself to a double date! A beautiful evening is had and the ending is so very sweet! A cursed midlife: A dive into the deep end head first! Ava starts talking with the town coven and learning quite a few things but then more murders happen and a dead shifter enlightens Ava and Owen to some bad stuff going on. The more they look into things the worse the explanation gets! Her friend from years ago is involved and the secrets that come out are something else. The ending is great and Lucifer helps Ava out in the end. Great story! A girlfriend for Mr. Snoozerton: How sweet the immortal cat has a girlfriend who gets injured. Mr. Snoozerton asks Ava to fix her and make her like him. She does and an interesting issue unfolds with Larry. Quite an interesting story!
“Witching After Forty” collects the misadventures of Ava Harper, necromancer with a bit of a witchy side. Ava is starting over in this fun series that gives us a touch of cozy mystery, magic, and tons of mayhem to enjoy. Below is a review of one of the books to give you an idea of what you will find in this delightful set.
This Volume One includes:
⚡ A GHOULISH MIDLIFE ⚡ COOKIES FOR SATAN (CHRISTMAS NOVELLA) ⚡ I’M WITH CUPID (VALENTINE NOVELLA) ⚡ A CURSED MIDLIFE ⚡ A GIRLFRIEND FOR MR. SNOOZERTON (NOVELLA)
*** Reviewing “A CURSED MIDLIFE” *** This is a great start for a murder mystery that will keep you guessing. The story line is fast-paced with characters the reader will like. Ava is at last dating her hunky Sheriff Drew, and we can look forward to how this works out for them. As to the mystery, there are apparently cursed coins that bring about a flurry of "accidents" that are catching her attention. Is there something darker going on here? Another something is also going on with the coven that needs looking into. With exploring her new powers and all of the other distractions in her life, it’s a wonder Ava can get all of these things handled! But the touch of humor thrown in there will keep the reader laughing and enjoying whatever issue Ava chooses to deal with.
The best thing about this series is the diverse group of characters we are introduced to along the way as Ava gathers more friends and has the funniest interactions with many of them. It’s an odd family but a good one and promises more laughs to come. So grab your copy and get invested in this fun series. And you’ll even solve a mystery or two along the way! There is plenty for you to choose from here!
A Goulish Midlife - Ava hasn't used her Necromancer power since she was ten and used it to bring her mom back as a ghoul. After being married to the love of her life for 20 years, Clay was killed when the car he's in is crushed by a semi. Their son Wallie comes home from Harvard and soon after he is showing powers. This story contains murder, possible romance, and new friendships, ending with a type of cliffhanger. Cookies For Satan - Ava has done it again. In the midst of setting up a tree and decorating the house for a Christmas party, Ava, Owen, Olivia, Wallie, and his girlfriend Michelle circle up to summon Saint Nick. Oops! I'm With Cupid - After the Christmas Santa/Satan fiasco, Ava and her friends begin searching for a way to return Luci to H*ll. When Drew and Ava finally go out on their date, it turns into a memorable visit to Paris, courtesy of Luci. A Cursed Midlife - Ava and Owen use 6-year-old Zane's jacket for a locator spell and find him as well as other shifter kids locked in a stall in an abandoned barn. In order to catch the witch, or witches, running the fight ring, it takes a lot of ingenuity and planning. A Girlfriend For Mr. Snoozerton - Well, what do ya know, Mr. Snoozerton has found himself a girlfriend. All that needs to happen is for Ava to bring her back to life. This quick read is funny and ends with a cliffhanger. These five stories have some action, are funny, and contain romance, with books one to three ending in cliffhangers and books 1.3, 1.6, and 2.6 filling in. Very highly recommended.

I don’t know when paranormal women’s fiction became a thing, but I am so glad it did! This series (and these authors) are part of why I like the quirky subgenre so much. First, they’ve created a great heroine—a widowed necromancer with healing abilities. That alone provides for a lot of possibilities in this long-running series. Second, they’ve assembled a motley, quirky crew of friends and helpers who add so much to the fun. Some are even highlighted in this set, like the cat who gets a girlfriend in book 5 also becomes a good friend of the ghoul butler. Fun (and often funny) stuff. Third, I love the way their books flow seamlessly from one to the other in their sets. It’s like you're reading one bigger story with smaller complete stories within. (Like good TV comedies and dramas) There’s even a slow-build romance in this set. It also contains two holiday novellas, one for Christmas and one for Valentine's. I love holiday stories, and these were great! I love the “oopsie” in the Christmas one! If you love paranormal women’s fiction—or are intrigued by the concept but haven’t yet dipped in a toe—give this set (and series) a read. You’re in for hours of fiendish fun and midlife mayhem!
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
Who's the next victim -err- person I'm raising from the dead?
One of the best descriptions I've ever seen is the one about this book which follows:
"...Witching After Forty follows the misadventures of Ava Harper – a forty-something necromancer with a light witchy side that you wouldn’t expect from someone who can raise the dead... "
The book is a delightful humorous book about Ava her new BFF, her oldest BFF, Lucifer (Yes, the one from Hell!) and the many characters she discovers as she learns more about her powers.
I laughed, cried and thoroughly enjoyed myself as Ava went on trips, met people she never thought she would and learn things about herself she never thought she would!
Meet Mr Snooze, Alfie, Drew, Wally, Olivia, Owen, Clint, and all the other characters who band together to make this such a delightful saga!.

This volume contains, A Ghoulish Midlife, Cookies For Satan, I’m With Cupid, A Cursed Midlife, and A Girlfriend For Mr. Snoozerton. Each novel/novella has been previously published separately. You get books 1, 1.3, 1.6, 2, and 2.6. I am so glad I picked up this series to read. Ava and her rag tag group of friends and family keep things interesting. Ava lost her husband five years ago, her son is away at college and she’s returned home to sell her family home. Life has definitely kicked her around a little bit. Be prepared for a lighthearted, easy to read collection of stories with necromancers, hunters, ghouls, witches, Satan, the undead, a tempting, hot sheriff and plenty of craziness that will keep you laughing. Can't wait to dig in to volume two.

This is a very funny and entertaining story. Yes there is drama. Yes there is sadness. But overall the story and characters are just so amusing. There is definitely some intrigue as you have to wonder where some of the characters come from. There is a love interest for the MFC who was widowed 5 years ago. There is death, there is mystery, and there is family and love all bundled into this series. Some of the books are longer while some are novellas. This was great because the quick stories just added to the larger story overall. I do recommend this series. I will be continuing to read the other books in this series.
I loved this series. Here get the first set of stories and it was an absolute riot to read. Get introduced to Ava who returns to her hometown to sell her family home. But instead her life goes in a different direction. A lot of laughs, crazy scenes and situations, and a hilarious cast of characters, it was a blast to read. Loved her home and the silliness that always seems to find her no matter what. Just a light hearted cozy mystery series with a twist of paranormal and a main character in the prime of her life and an uncanny way to find the weird.
I really love this series! So many quirky and entertaining characters, both living and dead...er undead. I love seeing Ava change and grow as the series goes on. There are some serious moments, but mostly they are fun and sometimes outright hilarious (here's looking at you, Luci). I have the individual books, but I really like having the books gathered into sets, so you can read them in the order the author's intended, and without having to stop and go looking for the next book. Read on.

This is the first five books of this paranormal witch mystery series.
This is a paranormal witch mystery series with an even heavier dose of humor than usual. That works for me! The stories are well written and easy to read with some very unusual twists to them. The stories tend to move at a good pace and have no problem keeping the reader's interest throughout. Overall, this is another fun series and I look forward to seeing what comes next.
Highly recommended.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout for review purposes.
This has become one of my favorite series. I can't wait to read volume 2. I love the side characters Alfred, Larry, Snooze and of course I love the main character, Ava, who is discovering her powers with each book and novella. The best is when Ava accidently summoned Luci who decides to remain in Shipton Harbor. The romance is clean and doesn't distract from the overall story. Who knew being a necromancer witch could be so complicated!.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Ava goes to Shipton Harbor to get her grandmother's house ready for sale but instead makes a life there. It is a busy life as her writing muse comes back and she starts practicing magic again. Ava starts solving crimes while dating the sheriff Drew. I liked the flow and great story telling of these first five books of this series. The best of all is her sentient house and growing house hold.
'Witching After Forty: Volume One' is a collection of witchy necromancer Ava Harper's misadventures. It's a fun series giving readers a bit of magical cozy mystery with mayhem and mishaps along the way. It's hilarious with crazy paranormal situations, fantastic characters and an overall entertaining series. I highly recommend for those looking for a light hearted paranormal read.

I really enjoyed these books . You can’t beat a story that has you smiling , cheering for the good guys and trying to figure out the mystery. The characters are well written and make you feel like you know each of them . I can’t wait to read more of their stories.
Delightful compilation of the first five books in the Witching after Forty series
Start enjoying the amazing adventures of the powerful necromancer witch Ava and her eclectic 'family' of resurrected ghouls as she returns to Shipton Harbor and her ancestral house, Winston, in this delightful compilation of the first five books in the Witching after Forty series.
Only 1 or two type o’s throughout, and a very well versed writer. Not juvenile in anyway. I thoroughly enjoyed reading each book. Kept me entertained the whole time. It says something, because of all the books I’ve read, this is one of 4 that I’ve reviewed. (I have a VERY extensive library😏)
This is a wonderful collection of books. I absolutely enjoyed the hours of reading and absolutely love the characters. It’s got a little bit of everything in there and it just drew me in and didn’t let me go. Can’t wait for the next volume.

Book 1-5 of the Witching After Forty Series. Ava is a necromancer, that’s also a half-witch. We follow her adventures in the town of Shipton Harbor. With new characters, new adventures, lots of humor, and some romance, you can’t go wrong.

This was a great boxed set filled with the first five books of the series. I have read and reviewed each book separately. I enjoyed having them together for my reading ease.

A laugh out loud fun, magically thrilling, action packed set of heart racing adventures that are just jam packed with witty and engaging charters, heart racing twists and unforgettable turns. Highly entertaining journey from beginning to end.
Poor Ava. No matter how hard she tried to remain outside the witching world of her hometown, it wasn’t letting her go so easily. Before she knew it she had acquired a house full of ghouls and witches. This series is absolutely delightful and fun to read. I loved it!
Really interesting concept, real live witches. I read the whole collection in one go. I was hooked from the first page. Glad to see there are more to get further fix.
