The three Carousel sisters enjoy a comfortable, tea and cake-filled life, rarely ever leaving their magical meadow where mischievous spirits roam and books come to life. Alas, tragedy has befallen the meadow. When their Da is whisked away by The (self-proclaimed) Greatest Villain That Ever Lived. Now the three sisters and one sorting spirit must venture together into The Nowhere using only the knowledge of their magical books to guide them.
A.A.R Curtis lives in NSW, Australia. They continue to read, eat cake and drink tea to this day. When they aren’t reading or being inspired by books they enjoy watching British panel shows, growing indoor plants and playing Animal Crossing.
A fantastical read! Quaint characters and imaginative backdrops pave the way to a delightful story full of heart that I’m sure anyone will love to be a part of.
Even side characters, and inanimate objects for that matter, are given so much personality. The books, sprites and animals teaming up with the sisters along their journey are just as charming as the sisters themselves, and definitely had me giggling over their antics.
The unfinished tales of the carousel sisters is such a delightful tale of 3 sisters who live a simple life of filled with tea and cake, when tragedy befalls their Da who is kidnapped by the world's greatest villain. They set out on an adventure with a sprite & some magical books to rescue their Da. This book was so enjoyable, from the talking books to their cheeky sprite Sofie, every page was filled with humour and adventures. It has very much a hobbiton feel to it. Such a great middle age read!
I loved this book. It was so quirky and fun. I liked that the sisters had all different powers and the little spirits were so cute. Sofi was my favourite. A great middle grade read.
Charming, whimsical, and magical! This book is Hobbiton meets cottagecore!
The story oozes warmth and comfort with lovable characters who are unique and strong. The carousel sisters each shine with their own personalities; bookish Rose, nature-lover Marie, and the adventurous warrior Lee. Together they journey through the meadow to rescue their Da’ from a nefarious villain. This is the perfect read in a spring day outside with your favourite brew in hand…or really anytime of the year!
This fizzes with delightful enchantments. Talking books and magical sprites. There is cake, there is plenty of tea, and there is sisterhood. The author sprinkles sweet humour throughout, perfect for a good old-fashion chuckle. The scenery is beautifully depicted and immersive. This book has utterly captured my soul! What’s even more wonderful is that the Carousel sisters’ journey does not end there, hinting at more adventures to come!
I’ve got my basket filled with plenty of tea and cake for this dreamy tea-party. Thank you so much to the author @thecarouselsisters for sending me an actual copy of her book (you’re the first!) and it has a very special place in my heart.
Couldn’t put it down! The language used to describe the different surroundings and the characters is beautiful. It’s easy to see the Author has a great sense of humour! Can’t wait to see what happens next!
