I’ll do anything to keep Michael safe, but can I do the same for myself?

I’m trying to not let the rumors circulating around town destroy the best thing I’ve ever had, but it’s even harder when Michael’s ex-wife starts spreading lies about us and threatening me at work.

And when my ex-boyfriend shows up at my college and promises I’ll be his again one day, things get worse. I’m scared his obsession with me may turn into physical violence. He’s never been one to lose gracefully, and he sees me as his biggest prize.

With the threats coming from both sides and my best friend still not talking to me, I stand to lose everything I hold dear, especially if the rumors fall into the wrong hands.

Because the lies being told don’t just threaten to pull us apart. It could land Michael in jail.

Fans of Torn by Carian Cole and Her Dad's Friend by Penny Wylder won’t be able to put this book down!

This book had the potential to be a five star rating. My issue was like most book series the last book often tends to be rushed and that’s what happened. There are still a lot of questions left unanswered

great follow-up, great ending

I enjoyed this and it was nice getting to know the characters a little better. There was angst and drama and a lot of growth. Ups and downs but unwavering love and support. I was very surprised with the abrupt ending. It wasn’t a cliffhanger, it just said “Part II” and it was over. That is one of the more bizarre ways to end a book, but then there was Part II after I already reviewed the book. That was weird. But there were a lot of plot lines resolved and I appreciate the way things developed. Not only is this a love story, but one of dedication and perseverance. I was invested in all these characters and shocked by some of the horrible things done and said. But there was so much sweetness and steam, and two people who deserved nothing but the best finally getting that. Not to mention the romances going on in the background. Interesting, engaging, well written, and a very good story overall.

Whoops had to edit my review because I accidentally put book 1 review. But here is my edit!

Overall: 2.4 ⭐️ but the app doesn’t allow half stars so I rounded up.
Spice: 3.8 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

Like the first one the variety in spice is why I didn’t rate it as high. The scenes were good and while I ENJOYED the frequency, the variety wasn’t there for me. Each scene seemed the same.

I felt like the plot was less ironed out in this one and seemed a bit choppy at times and overly predictable.
Think hallmark films, some are rinse and repeat but some (like the drama special ones) have a deeper worked through story line.

I did even break from my norm and paid for this book (I’m an avid Kindle Unlimited reader because books are expensive) since I wanted to finish the story. Now that I had I do regret spending $8 ($3 sure but I’m a broke reader). No shade to the author. I think this has a solid type of target audience and I was just more in the mood for a more literary book (that had the spice).

Audiobook Edition
3 1/2 stars
2nd book in series
Narrator M.K. Blackwood

I liked the duet. This book felt a bit more rushed to me. So much happened in the last half of the book. I would’ve liked it to be in more detail. There are still questions left.
The ending of Mason’s assault is only given a sentence or two. Mason slowly growing more bold in his infatuation with Mia to assault her. Then to have Mia not even attend his hearing?
Then Mason showing up at the lab party to antagonize Mia. Where is the conclusion to Mason? That was left open ended.
Introducing Cam in the last part of the book was strange to me too. He becomes a close friend, then find out he liked her & that’s it. I didn’t think it was necessary.
Michael & Mia do get a happy ending & Melissa finally wises up & breaks up with Mason.

I really wanted to love this book, but why do women in these romances have to get pregnant to have a happy ending? I am so sick of the pregnancy tropes to lead to a happily ever after. And getting pregnant with TRIPLETS on accident because her IUD fell out? My gosh. Not all women are 120 pounds or less. Not all women can get pregnant so easily. I just wanted something more realistic and this was extremely frustrating tbh.

So many unanswered questions, so much left unsaid… It felt like it dragged on and on the last half of the book, but we really got nowhere. Overall so disappointed because I really enjoyed the first book, and the first half was great too. Just a disappointing end to this duology.

Indulge Me

Wow, beautiful ending to a fairytale story. I have to say this 2 part book was everything and more than I expected. Not to mention the ultimate unexpected surprise was worth listen and reading of this book. I almost wish there was another part so that Serena will have her story too. I must say that I’m glad Mason got at least half of what was due to him. As for Melissa mom well let’s just say she truly got her dessert served to her the best way possible. Now for the couple on the front line I love their honesty, it played the foundation for their future. It also brought them closer. I must admit I love this grown Mia, she is strong and intelligent. Above all I love the trust and support Mia’s friends give her through her hard times.

This was a great follow up to the first book. Funny, spicy, drama filled and heartfelt. It did leave a bunch of unresolved issues though at least with the supporting characters. So I feel like there should be follow ups in the next books about them. I definitely knew Mia was pregnant just by her behaviors leading up to it and her mom knew too. I love that they go the happily ever after they deserved & then some. I really wish this was an Audiobook I feel like it would do so well!

The story for this duet was very very good. The two main characters, you could feel their love. I will say I couldn’t put them down and read both books in 24 hours. They have smallest chapters which is always a plus for me. I will also say some chapters seemed pointless to me and the whole Cam character! I also felt like nothing really finished with Mason. Maybe there will be a Melissa book and we will see more of mason and his fall from grace I guess you can say.

I skipped over most of the spice, I only pushed through the book because I had to find out what happened. The storyline felt rushed and there were still lots of unsolved problems. It left me unsatisfied.

I enjoyed this duet. The spicy scenes were fun and I enjoyed Michael and Mia together. They were an easy couple to root for. People are always going to judge you for one thing or another, no sense in letting them ruin your happiness. (I’m talking legal/safe/not hurting anyone stuff)

I skipped over most of the spice as it was repetitive but in different locations. I had to find out what happened so I pushed through, skimming..

The 2nd book wasn’t as good as I was expecting. But inflect like I needed to finish the series to check it off my list for the year.

Book 2 in the Addicted to Him series

I don't know why, but I flew through this duet. It was just what I needed at the moment. And I'm so glad I backed the Kickstarter to get beautiful copies of these fun books.

I just love best friend's dad or ex's dad romances. They are like candy to me.

This was definitely more of a drama filled than the first installment, which was a good thing, I think, otherwise it would have fallen a little flat plot wise. I really love Mia and Michael and was very happy to see their very crazy Happily Ever After.

Good second parter

Too many🌶 scenes, it really, at times, felt that this was the only relationship they had.

Overall, though, there is a good storyline within the epic amount of £ex scenes, likeable characters, and it is definitely worth a read 📚

I would give this one 3.5 stars. The ending was a little far fetched. The spice was good though🌶🌶🌶🌶
