Luke begins with the news that Elizabeth and Zechariah, despite their old age, will have a son who will prepare people for the arrival of the long-awaited Messiah. This is a prelude to the singing that follows from Elizabeth and Zechariah; Jesus’ mother, Mary; the prophets Simeon and Anna; and even an angel choir! Every year I look for good devotional resources for the Advent and Christmas seasons. Some have been good, some not so much. This new book was wonderful. While dated for Advent/Christmas 2021/2022, it could be used any year. Each day one is led through the account as recorded by St Luke. There is a quote to ponder and a narrative to contemplate, along with a closing prayer. Short, simple, and to the point.

In back of the book are resources of Advent Candle lighting, meal prayers, lighting of a Christmas Tree, and special blessings. Highly recommended!

Until this year I had never read an Advent devotional that extended to Epiphany and I have to say that I enjoyed the experience. I hope I am able to do the same in 2022.

I buy this and use it every year. A great resource that is current for Advent devotions. Great timely contributors.

For me this devotional was mediocre, as far as advent devotionals go. It did not really inspire me at all.
