A positive, practical and empowering guide for teenagers, tackling sex and relationships in an inclusive and non-judgemental way - created by the winners of the Pamela Sheridan Award for Innovation and Good Practice in RSE. Written and illustrated by the award-winning team at School of Sexuality Education, who deliver expert workshops for teenagers, here is advice, reliable information and reassurance on sex and relationships... Covering key topics including consent and healthy relationships, sexuality and different kinds of sex, puberty and periods, contraception, porn and sexting, and much more besides! This book is not only full of advice for teenagers but a brilliant tool for their parents, carers and teachers, supporting all of the new RSE curriculum content (in the wake of recent updates) as well as answering FAQs and busting some popular myths along the way. Publishing after major updates to the national Relationships and Sex Education curriculum, as well as calls for widespread, high-quality sex education in the wake of the #MeToo movement and Everyone's Invited.
This book does a lot of things really right. It discusses many ideas surrounding sex and relationships, such as consent, gender, identity, body image and online dating and it does so by debunking common misconceptions and sharing “I’m embarrassing” stories from the authors (a collective of experts).
It’s a totally relatable book, and doesn’t feel like it’s preaching to young people about anything at all. Instead it feels like a private space for teenagers to read about things they might not yet have experienced, understand about themselves or know how to handle. It’s pretty hard to know if you’re normal when you don’t know how anyone else feels compared to you!
There were some things they try to tackle which I didn’t necessarily think were exactly right - I’m not sure “I’d like to touch your vulva” is ever going to work or is a realistic piece of advice to suggest teenagers should say to express their feelings, but for the most part I thought the advice was very positive.
A useful education tool and again, a nice private space for anyone to investigate or educate themselves about themselves!

Just got this in for my school library, it's a great addition to the stock and I hope it reaches as many students as possible. With a no nonsense approach its really up to date, covering so many issues teens are facing today. I will be promoting it to pastoral and PSHE staff too.
