Mason Creek #24

Perfect Guy

Rate this book
After a terrible experience, I decided to move back home and help my family run our ranch. I’ve always been a cowgirl at heart, and this is where I belong.

When I start a side job as an architect, Canaan and I get closer. The guy I’ve known most of my life is suddenly luring me in with his playful charm.

He wants to compete against the book boyfriends I read about, and between terrible jokes and his kind heart, I fall for him. But then we’re threatened to become a pile of faded memories.

Perfect Guy is a heartfelt romance. If you like a sexy hero with a big heart, a sassy cowgirl, and banter, then you’ll love this small town romance.

Love finds you

Another perfect book from Mason Creek! Another book read too quickly and left me wanting more. The characters are fun, likable, the banter witty, sexy, sassy, plus much more.

Madelyn has returned home, a degree in hand. Her reasons are her own, but an opportunity presents itself.

The architect has just quit Cannon’s job, and he floats his friend Madelyn’s name for the job. Well, flirting becomes more. But, will this flirting become more? Will the doubts and a speedbump slow them down?

Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

It's been a while were I read the story and couldn't agree more with the title.
Madelyn and Canaan have known each other seem like forever but it wasn't until she returned home did they realize they were attracted to one another.

It was so much fun to see their relationship blossom. The banter was on point, chemistry sizzling and overall the plot was interesting and kept me well intrigued and entertained from start to finish.

I'm looking forward to coming back to this small time soon.

Fabiola Francisco is so talented at writing stories with so much heart, and with her being in the Mason Creek lineup more than once, well it's perfection in my eyes. Madelyn has come home after learning that the grass isn't always greener on the other side, so the big city just wasn't for her. She's going to help her family out with the ranch, but she also gets to be an architect on the side which is how she starts spending time with Canaan. They've known each other for a long time, but it's this moment in time that things are shifting to something more. I loved Canaan, who is that man with the corny jokes & big heart who left a smile on my face. As they're going along in a good direction, BAM! They hit a wall, and all of a sudden, it doesn't look good for them. Will they be able to weather the storm together, or will it destroy any future happiness?! You'll have to hit those one click buttons to find out, and trust me, being in Mason Creek is always a good time so I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Coming back home after not finding comfort in the big city, Madelyn is trying to regroup and figure out her next step. The last thing she ever saw coming was flirty and oh so adorable Canaan catching her eye and becoming an important in her life. But when tragedy strikes, will Canaan still be willing to allow Madelyn in to his life? And will his rejection be too much for Madelyn to handle? With wonderfully written characters this story really lived up to it's title. Canaan is the perfect guy - being exactly what Madelyn needed. Another great addition to the series.

This is a heartfelt emotional read. It's so good! This was a great addition to the Mason Creek series. It's one that's going to pull on the heartstrings. I even teared up a few times while reading. Madelyn and Canaan are so cute together. From their first date to the last page in this book they stole my heart. They show how you have to fight for love and you never give up because it's all worth the journey. These two have a bit of a rough road, but you can tell they have the staying power though they get tested. I also enjoyed seeing the other couples enjoying their HEAs. is always make my giddy to see that.

I have been excited to see Madelyn and Canaan's story for some time now. It was beautiful, sweet and just everything. I loved the aspect of these two's relationship as they had known each other for so long and their ties to the community. It is sassy, witty and swoon worthy from start to finish! I loved the depth of their story too. As we get deeper into the Mason Creek world, the connections just add so much more to this world and it really did with Perfect Guy. I loved the build and everything about this book. Great addition to the series!

Madelyn and Canaan have known each other for years, he is her brother Wilder’s best friend and she is his sister Joy’s best friend. Being seven years her senior has never allowed them to see past the age gap. She never entertained the thought of him and by the time she was in high school and interested in checking guys out, Canaan was working and dating women his age.

Since Madelyn’s return home from college she has been focused on helping on her family’s ranch and hoping her architecture degree would eventually land her a job locally; so when Canaan asks her to help on a construction job she eagerly accepts.

Canaan works hard and doesn’t think he has time for a relationship, as a carpenter by day and a volunteer firefighter in his spare time, but when it comes to Mads he is willing to find time to explore their relationship.

When he approached her about a month ago, asking if she’d be interested in working on a project, she willingly agreed to meet his boss, despite being jaded from her experience at the university.
She was doing her internship at the studio of a professor she had throughout college. He offered her a position at his firm with strings attached.
“What does that mean?”
“He hit on me, insinuating that we’d make a great team in and out of the office.”
She was disappointed, disgusted and distraught.
“When you said I could repay you with dinner, it just brought back that sour experience”.

Not only had she admired him as a teacher and professional, but it made her question the validity of her grades and if the internship was based on her work or her appearance.
After turning him down and giving him a piece of her mind, she overheard him talking to a colleague as they both laughed at the “stupid and naïve country girl who would fall for him” as if being from a small town made her an idiot. If she’d reported him she knew it’d be his word against hers.
Thankfully, she’d already graduated and had her degree.

Hallie is Canaan and Joy’s second cousin, their mums are cousins and grew up together. Hallie is marrying Madelyn’s brother Wilder. Joy is romantically involved with Brayden, Canaan’s ex-best friend. They had a fallout when they were younger, and things have never been quite the same between Brayden and Canaan. When Joy and Brayden got together, their relationship should have improved, and while it did, they’re still not the best friends they used to be.

Cole and Grady, are cousins and fell in love with sisters?
“And…Wilder and Madelyn are siblings, and Mads with Canaan and me, and we’re both cousins. And the four of you are cousins.”
Their mums are twins, and they were raised together. Intertwining connections.

Cane experiences a life-altering experience.
They arrived at the scene of an accident, and Canaan ran out, calling for Joy, thinking it was his sister in the car. The driver had a similar car to Brayden’s.
He didn’t have proper gear, and a small explosion hit him. He flew back and landed hard on the asphalt. His brain injury causes him short-term memory loss, irritability and mood swings— so he begins shutting Madelyn out.

They were supposed to be united, but when things got difficult, he stepped back. The beauty of relationships, is one never knows what the future holds. Life is uncertain, and people can change through different experiences.

This is Madelyn and Canaan’s story. Madelyn and Canaan have known each other for years but never really had a relationship. When she moves back to town the spark fly with them. They have a pull to each other that they both feel. He has some really funny one-liners that keep them bantering back and forth. But when a tragedy happens will that be the end of anything they were building together? Or will it bring them even closer?

I recommend this book.

Madelyn and Canaan have known each other all their lives, he is her brothers best friend and she is his sister’s best friend, but their age difference has never let them see past that, until now. Since Madelyn’s return home from college she has been focused on helping her family’s ranch and hoping her architect degree would eventually help her find a job locally so when Canaan asks her to help on a construction job she doesn’t hesitate to help out. The more time these two spend around each other the attraction is intense and they both don’t know what to do about because they have not really considered each other an option before now. Canaan works hard and doesn’t think he has time for a relationship, but when it comes to Mads he is willing to find that time because something about her has drawn him to her and he isn’t willing to give that up. As they become closer Canaan decides he is all in and when he is there is no stopping him. He will make you swoon, laugh at his cheesy jokes, and fall hard for him. When tragedy occurs will it push them together or push them apart? Can they fight for their love or doomed from the start? This has to be my favorite in this series and I have loved every one of them, but Canaan really stole the show. He was everything you could want in a book boyfriend and more. I have said this many times and I’ll say it again, this author has a way with book boyfriends. Each and everyone of them are as amazing as the last full of charm, loyalty, and love. (Stand back Harris, Canaan just moved up some lol)

I need more than 5 stars for another amazing book in the Mason Creek series. Fabiola Francisco is my favorite.. and her characters and couples.. are so lovable.

When Madelyn came home after college, it was unexpected. She was expected to stay in the city and use her Architectural degree. No one knows why she returned and she doesn’t speak of it. Canaan has lived in their hometown his whole life, and works as a carpenter. He’s good at what he does. He gives her name to his boss when their architect is unavailable, and she helps them with a project. She finds that her love for her profession is still alive, even though her belief in humanity still waivers.

Will they finally notice each other as more than just friends? Is Caanan ready for a relationship? Because Madelyn is not the type of woman you play with, she is the kind of woman you settle down with. When things get tough… will he be able to give her what she needs.

I love Fabiola Francisco, and I love this series of books. Mason Creek is a place I could live, and these people, although nosey and opinionated, are the kind of people you want in your corner through everything. I am a huge fan.. of Fabiola Francisco and of Mason Creek. I have enjoyed every single book written.. almost as much as I love Everton. Keep on writing them.. and I will definitely keep on reading them.

Having read Ms.Francisco's work many times before it always brings me so much joy to pick up another one of her books! Having picked up Perfect Mess, Perfect Hate, and Perfect Casanova i couldn't wait for more! As soon as this book was announced i instantly started looking forward to it! I picked it up right away and got right back into the Mason Creek world! I really enjoyed it!

Madelyn and Canaan's journey pulled me in right from the get go! These two have known each other for quite some time since Madelyn is best friends with Canaan's sister. As Madelyn moves back home and starts to work with Canaan, i couldn't wait to see how everything would play out for these two!

I really liked getting to dig deeper with these two throughout. From their banter to their chemistry, i couldn't get enough! Madelyn was such an awesome heroine that i really related to! Canaan had me falling for him! I loved how these two had me feeling so much!

I was so glad that i got to jump back into the Mason Creek world with this book! I could picture it all clearly. I so enjoyed what the other characters brought to the story as well!

With Perfect Guy, Ms.Francisco has created such a great read with heart! I can't wait to read what she comes up with next!

I Loved being back in Mason Creek! Madelyn found out that her college experience wasn’t the one she dreamed of. After graduation she decided to come home to Mason Creek and help out on her families ranch. Canaan is a carpenter and volunteer firefighter who loves what he does. After knowing Madelyn their entire lives he is starting to see her in a new light. As these two start hanging out they develop a cute relationship. Between her trust issues, his corny jokes and a few other things they have a lot to sort out. I loved Madelyn and Canaan so much. They found each other at the best time. They share an amazing connection and truly were able to help each other heal in different ways. I love reading what the other characters were up to. This was a great story with amazing characters. This was emotional story with a few laugh out loud moments. I’m already looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

Madelyn left the big city to come back home after college saying she was homesick and wanting to be back on the ranch never planning on telling anyone her real reason for coming back. She didn’t know how much she was going to be using her degree as an architect back home but she didn’t care so when the opportunity came last minute to build a new home for a family a family friend Cannon put her name out there on a job site he was working on and the architect just quit. She couldn’t believe it and she was going to do whatever it takes to prove that she could make this job work because of her brains and talent and not how she looks. But as Madelyn and Cannon get closer they start flirting more and one thing leads to another and they kissed. Will being working together ruin them, are there other motivates that truly got her that job. Are these two going to end up with a white picket fence and happy house or will it go up in flames with Madelyn past lighting the match.

Madelyn and Canaan - both know each other for so long and now they work side by side.

The best of Mason Creek is Perfect Guy!

We have met Madelyn and Canaan before. Madelyn comes from a family of overprotective brothers and friends. When Canaan sees Madelyn in a different light, he cannot imagine ever hurting her. Canaan is perfect in everything he does and strives to be. He is contractor by day and a volunteer firefighter in his spare time. Madelyn is back home and ready to find herself since college was not what she thought it would be.

These two are perfect together. The author brings life to Mason Creek through its small town feel and the people who reside there. We get to catch up and reunite with this family of friends. Perfect Guy had so many swoon moments and just made me feel good. I never thought I would laugh as hard as I did from Dad jokes. Loved, loved, loved Perfect Guy!

This was another great addition to the Mason Creek series! Madelyn and Cannan have known each other their entire lives. He is her brother's best friend and she is his sister's best friend. Prior to her returning to town after leaving for college, the two never saw anything romantic in each other. But when Madelyn comes back from college the two find themselves spending more time together and feelings begin to develop between the two.

Some challenges arise between the two but in the end they are able to persevere and be that perfect person for each other.

I loved the chemistry and banter between these two!

Every time I dive into a Mason Creek book I feel like I'm immersed in a town I would love to live in!

FOUR AND A HALF STARS!

Mason Creek is a wonderful town full of great people with amazing stories! Fabiola has done it again with this book about Madelyn and Caanan.

Madelyn comes back home after finding out the city isn't all it's hyped up to be. She is working at her family farm and also as an architect with Canaan who she has known her whole life. He was always older and seemingly out of her reach, but now he notices her and charms her with his humor. Their witty banter and steamy encounters had me glued to my kindle but then they were facing a dilemma bigger than them.

We see other familiar characters from previous books and that's another reason I love series! Mason Creek is a town I'd love to live in!

A great story that I was immediately pulled into. Perfect Guy was full of laughs, love and heartbreak.

Canaan has know Madelyn forever he's seven years older than her so he's always been closer to her brothers but since she moved back to their small town of Mason Creek from the big city he's definitely noticed her. Madelyn trained to be an architect and when she and Cannan work on a project their feeling begin to bubble to the surface and soon they are everything to each other but when an their relationship is pushed to the limits will Canaan be able to hold on or lose Madelyn forever.

Fabiola Francisco has given us another fab small town romance and I loved the banter Canaan and Madelyn had. This is a book I can definitely recommend.

Madelyn is such a beautiful soul. She is back home in Mason Creek helping her family on the ranch. This is her love and she knows that no matter where she goes that the country always calls to her. When she became an architect she thought her dreams were coming true, but one instance sent her back to where her heart is. When she gets an opportunity to work for a local builder thanks to Canaan she can't believe it. Canaan is a beautiful soul and I loved him just as much. I had to wait to see what their story would entail and it did not disappoint. These two have such a positive vibe and feedback with each other you can't help but fall in love. However, sometimes fate has other ideas and they will have to figure out if love is worth fighting for.

Perfect Guy will supply you with everything that you could want in an all-around really great romance read, it made me laugh, 'How did the carpenter win over the cowgirl?, Using his hammer'! Canaan's one-line interaction with Madelyn was just great, but then it was tinged with sadness and drama, what I love about a Fabiola Francisco's story is she with very little effort moves the story along with all its different parts with great attention to detail.

I hope you enjoy Madelyn and Canaan's story as much as I did, every time I read a Mason Creek book I feel as if I am returning to old friends and making new ones!

With each book Fabiola writes I fall more and more in love with her special kind of small town romance goodness!

𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗙𝗘𝗖𝗧 𝗚𝗨𝗬 was the perfect forbidden, age gap romance! Madelyn is a sassy spitfire of a woman who is loyal to her friends and family. Canaan is her best friend’s older brother and a tall glass of blue collar hotness. I enjoyed watching their chemistry unfold and how once they realized their true feelings, they were all in. This book was a sweet and sexy, read in one sitting romance and left me with a smile on my face.

Madelyn had big dreams when she left for college but now that she has finished she can’t return home fast enough. She is helping out at her parent’s ranch while she looks for a job in her field but she never expected the opportunity to come from Canaan, her best friend’s brother.

Canaan works in construction so when an opportunity comes up that matches Madelyn’s skill set he knows that she is the person for the job. Although Madelyn and Canaan have always been in each other’s lives it is only when they work together that the sparks fly.

Humor, heat and all the feels as Madelyn and Canaan have a few obstacles to overcome as they fight for the happiness they both deserve.

Perfect Guy definitely fits Canaan. I loved his fun, flirty nature. I loved all the fun, sweet, and flirty moments with Canaan and Madelyn. I even loved his corny jokes. Their text exchanges were hilarious, sarcastic, and steamy. The mutual dirty talk between the two was fun to read. I loved that it took a bit for them to get together even though the two knew each other to an extent. I also loved that the author name checked my favorite real singing cowboy in their first major scene together. I also loved that though Canaan may have not always been perfect, that true love is in it for the long haul: the good and the bad.

One of my new favorites

Absolutely loved this book. I laughed, I cried, got angry and sighed (a lot) because... swoon! This book tied up loose ends that have been dangling for a little while. Now we know why Mads came back. I swear Fabiola had to have had a "bad dad joke book" next to her while writing this because some of those were epically bad dad jokes. And honestly, I may never send another eye roll emoji again. Thanks for that! Lol
As always, it was great catching up with everyone in town. I love how the authors seem to have their own family to focus on. The consistency is perfect.
This is another book you won't want to miss.
