Yes, I loved it!!! It's about the love of books, the creative power of imagination, and how to burst, disroupting the vicious crust that we all call reality...
So, get out of your selfmade prison!!! The light is already there, the freedom from misery and despondency!!!
For me this reading was exactly what I needed!!! Don't believe in random or chance...
It was the right place and the right time for me for reading it!!!
Many years ago Dean Koontz used to be my favourite author but now it’s always a gamble when reading one of his books. While he has written some amazing books like False Memory and Intensity he has also written some books I really haven’t enjoyed at all. This unfortunately is one of them.
The book started off quite well and I had high hopes for it but as I read on it became long winded and confusing. While I can understand not all stories need to be realistic what I can’t stand in a story is when problems or mysteries are being solved with characters “having a feeling” and this happened all throughout the book with many characters. By the long anticipated end (mainly because I wanted the book over and done with rather than anticipating an amazing finale) things got worse. I’m not even sure how it ended but I’m definitely glad it did.
Looking back over the entire story it seems a lot was irrelevant to the actual story and feels like it was there only to fill pages. I only finished the book as it was part of my reading challenge. At over 500 pages it was quite a long struggle.
Part of my 2024 reading challenge: a book with more than 500 pages
