A New Way of Life: Be the Solution to the Crises we Face: Increasing Deaths from Climate Change, Lack of Water and Food, Economic Crises, Fake Democracy, Risk of War, and Future Pandemics
This book explains based on science and facts, how you can be the solution to the big crises we will face to cover our basic needs (food, water, health…):
• It is just a question of time before the next economic crisis. The last economic crisis resulted in millions unemployed, the next one will be worst especially with the robots slowly replacing around half of all jobs and so much inflation that the government will not be able to save us. But you (we) can be the solution, it starts with each one of us doing her/his part.
• There is a very high risk for our system to collapse starting in around 10 years when we move a step further towards the end of cheap oil reserves. Most of the products we consume is produced and transported with cheap oil. If oil is too expensive even our food is at risk . Renewable electricity is ridiculously low in density, hydrogen is not a source, nuclear fusion does not work, nuclear fission has major obstacles to be scaled... All these alternative energies will be useful but very far from enough to sustain our current way of life. How do you eat if the system collapses, even partially? You (we) can be the solution.
• We face a risk of a new pandemic far worse than COVID-19. COVID-19 spread through globalization, because, with so much international travel, especially by planes, infectious diseases can spread fast and far. In the past, without planes, the Black Death killed up to 60% of the population of Europe! That’s hundreds of times more than COVID-19! We could have a new virus similar to the Black Death, but, with planes and globalization, no doubt this could mean death for you and your family before we find a vaccine. But you (we) can be the solution.
• In the coming years, we will all directly suffer from climate change in one way or another, including our kids and grandkids. Climate change has started to kill hundreds of thousands through heat, flooding, hurricanes… But the worst is only starting climate change decreases food production especially added to soil destruction, so our future will be a lack of food and water which can create wars. Learn why the worst-case scenario could lead to human extinction, as it did 250 million years ago when 96% of species died. But you (we) can be the solution, it starts with each one of us doing her/his part.
• The rich get richer, the poor get poorer, banks steal from us, while so many don’t even have decent food or healthcare… Corrupted politicians pretend to care about what you think to get elected, but science proved they really care about what the richest push them to do through lobbying. The we live in a false democracy. But you (we) can be the solution.
• Politicians almost started a nuclear war without our authorization! Are we going to wait that someone to actually start a war before trying to change the system? It will be too late! But you (we) can be the solution.
• So many other police violence, new diseases caused by pollution, overpopulation, and so on. But you (we) can be the solution.
These crises (depending on which one) already hurt us, will hurt us, or could hurt us sooner or later. Let's not be narrow-minded; we all thought covid was impossible, but it happened. Mainstream media are really bad at preparing us for the future because they are focused on what is sensational and happening now.
There is an alternative system in which you can lead towards a solution to all these crises. Does it sound impossible? Left versus right is destructive; you will learn why we need a new decentralized system to end ecological crises, economic crises, and health crises… This book proves that it is possible based on referenced science and facts .

"Better than Capitalism: Be the Solution to the Economic, Ecological and Health Crises" is a really inspirational and eye-opening novel written by Samy Barnat.
The writer cautiously explains to us that the world is at great risk at this moment. Mankind is destroying the world by misusing the essential supplies in availing them to create unnecessary things when they should be used constructively to secure the future. The result is that our most desirable supplies are going to diminish slowly until a time comes when they will not be enough for everybody. When the energy resources will leave the world for good, the economy will collapse and people will start dying of hunger and other things. He has openly discussed the various social, economic, and other issues and helps us realise the intensity of these situations.
We have made everything corrupt with our habits. The writer is trying to wake people up to the cruelties in the world. A lot of things are being done wrong which is destroying mental health and risking our existence. The two most common issues discussed are the drastic effects of climatic changes and inequality. All the wrongdoings are mainly due to the ignorant attitude of us all. Fortunately, there is a solution to all these crises which is also gloriously explained in the book. All these sufferings can be avoided by individual efforts. Everyone believes that a single person can do nothing to bring a change. But that thought is very wrong. Just like drop by drop a river is created, we can make a difference by contributing to the welfare of our society.
The book progresses in a wonderful way discussing the most common problems that are being faced by everybody around the world along with some complex issues that not many people heard of, even though they are right in front of us. There exist billions of things we are not aware of right now but they are happening and are secretly destroying the future. We need to wake up and see what is going on around us. This book helps us with that. The best thing about this book is that it is simple and compact because the main purpose of this book is to make many people realise their mistakes so that the wrong can be undone.
The book is not just filled with the writer's opinions, everything is explained by giving evidence. The facts and figures are very authentic and all stories are true. The writer has enhanced the book by sharing as many hyperlinks (referring to the most reliable sources), as possible to provide a clear picture of everything. It has made it easier to understand by not just typed words but through visuals that make us better grasp the problems and their solutions. The book is not at all boring. The videos, images, and articles make the book colourful and easily understandable. I think this book is fit for everybody. There wasn’t a part I liked the least. Everything was perfectly put and well explained. I am sure that everybody will love this book as much as I had.
Lastly, I would like to say that this book deserves 'five out of five stars'. It was exceptionally well edited and fault-proof. I feel that this book is a huge success and deserves to be acknowledged and appreciated worldwide.

"Better than Capitalism: Be the Solution to the Economic, Ecological and Health Crises" by Samy Barnat is a book calling for urgent action regarding the economic, ecological, and health crises. The author claims we need to take drastic measures to prepare ourselves for these crises.
Samy Barnat is an independent multidisciplinary researcher in social sciences and humanities, with a background in engineering. His presentation of the world's biggest issues through various hyperlinks and images indicate that the author is knowledgable and well-informed on the topics discussed in the book. The book is logically divided into 17 chapters, each carefully introducing a new topic to the reader. The aforementioned images and hyperlinks are used to help the readers understand the topics discussed and provide them with a valid source of information.
While the hyperlinks were very useful, some of them linked to the abstract of an article (not the full article), and some linked to Youtube videos. These might not be valid long-term links as the videos and abstracts could be removed at any time, and it might not be very convenient for those reading a paperback.
On the other hand, all of the arguments Barnat proposed in this book were on point, backed by facts, and of uttermost importance to all humans. For example, he proposed the possible negative ecological outcomes of temperatures rising above a certain degree. Another point I really liked about the book is the fact that Barnat linked the faults in our political systems to our existing social crises. Though I don't fully agree with the author on some of the ideas, I was very interested to see what alternative system he proposes which does not support capitalism-liberalism, nor communism-socialism. He argues that we simply do not put enough effort into the long-term well-being of humans. Instead, all of our systems are focused on short-term benefits. According to the author, more political power should be given to the people as our systems do not support the survival of humanity.
Overall, I would rate this book '4 out of 5 stars'. The book contained grammar and punctuation errors, implying it was not professionally edited. Still, I believe that the message of the book fairly outweighs any errors, as it teaches important lessons, puts emphasis on some of the biggest issues in the world, and draws attention to the urgency of these issues. The author used a simple language for everyone to understand without any difficulties, and I would recommend this book to everyone, regardless of their age and academic background.

The world is in crisis. We need a solution fast and soon to save humanity from a global catastrophe that results from the effects of climate change and ignorance from responsible persons. The book points out that each individual has the power to protect humanity if only they choose to be the “alternative system.” Additionally, it mentions the dangers that lie ahead in the future if the “alternative system" is not adopted. There is a list of concrete reasons why the “alternative system” is better than Capitalism and Liberalism.
The author encourages readers of this book to be open-minded and avoid embracing the negative implications of narrow-minded individuals who think the current situation will remain the same. He wants the readers to take the matter seriously because change can only happen if the alternative system is a reality, and he believes that each individual, regardless of his/her background, can make that happen.
The writing style is excellent. The author has used a language that’s easy-to-understand. His main goal is to allow as many readers as possible to understand the message portrayed in the book so that they can act accordingly. The material is well-researched and informative. I’m saying so because the author has incorporated links that will direct the reader to various sites containing additional information related to the subject being discussed.

A new thinking path for society
Thinking out of the box is a challenge for any folk. “Better than capitalism” force you on a snap to change your perspective on the evolution of history, economics and social matters. The storm of topics might create confusion and even rejection while you read, but in the end the book is about making the reader thinking from a different point of view on the way the world, countries, communities, families and individual behave, pushing the reader to take matters on their own hands and leave action on rules accept by consensus as standard behavior. I could infer that the objective of the author might be to stamp a new behavioral track on the reader mind so the diffusion of this knowledge could push society in a new path, during which the book makes the reader go thought a 360 overview of the rules that govern the world on matters as culture, society, economics, legal matters and so on. Again, from my point of view, this is a book for critical thinking, and its joy will be on knowing that there are path and solution for the present global paradigms, opening the door to many other questions in regard to the way, the contrast of disruption might be handle.

Our world is changing on a daily basis. Whether we like it or not, we need to make some changes before it is too late to do so. Some of those changes are very hard to make and others are as easy as snapping your fingers. Where would you start?
Mr. Barnet has a few ideas that he wanted to share with the world and his tone and voice are level headed and to the point.
Are you for the left? Are you for the right? Well, he covers both sides and has a well rounded basis for every point he has. He has also taken the path of the interactive book, leaving many places along the way for you to see for yourself.
The pandemic? Covered. The violence? Covered. Capitalism versus Marxism? Covered. And so much more.
The bottom line of the story is that we need balance in our world and the first person to start on the adventure is you and me. What is the best way to proceed? Well, a good start would be here.
I enjoyed the book and thought he had some very good points. There is so much uncertainty these days, but people are our best bet when moving forward.

We should do something! Now with this pandemic, more than ever we should think about a solution to all the problems that the author discusses and this book could very well be the answer! I found this an interesting book that goes through some huge crisis and offers solutions that are either verified with scientific studies, or are facts or data.
I would recommend it and would advice the reader to give this book a try and read it with an open mind since it tackles many topics that some folks could be unwilling to change their minds about. It talks about a lot of topics including globalization, justice, morals, ethics, culture, money, military, wars, police, education, ecology, politics and more.
I especially liked that it has a lot of pictures and links to videos so that if we want to research more we could.

Look, I am sure the author genuinely believes the stuff he writes here. Perhaps there is even a grain of truth in it. But that truth is lost in the mix of anti-globalism and pro-capitalist views, with lip service to the need for social supports.
Update: after an exchange with the author,I am willing to credit an intent that is not obvious to me. While I persist in my position that the author dresses xenophobia in modern clothes, and his views on the global economy represent an updated form of Hoover-era protectionism, I also recognize that his position might be borne of a radically different understanding of the world than I have. I still am apprehensive to recommend this but have updated the rating.
