Sports teams that win have more than just talented players: they’ve also mastered the concept of teamwork, which requires more than just athletic skill. It’s a mindset that makes every player think beyond themselves, bring a positive attitude, look out for one another, and stay focused on the job at hand.
The value of these skills in the workplace is inescapable. In this workshop, Jay Wright, head coach of the Villanova University basketball team, shares his vision of what teamwork means and highlights three audiobooks that helped shape his approach. Join Jay as he explains how leaders inside and outside the sports world have found incredible success and formed meaningful connections by fostering a healthy, team-focused outlook.

Narration could use work. Very blasé about something he’s written himself and allegedly believes in. The ideas are great. I LOVE the thoughts and enjoyed the stories given as examples. But this narration is not going to make people believe in what he is saying. Nobody is going to feel passionate about changing their ways or building a team the way the author and narrator is trying to share. However, simply because I have similar beliefs, I’ll advocate for this team building idea. Worth a listen, but thankfully it’s short and sweet. If the narrator re-records with more passion or enthusiasm, then I will definitely add another star ⭐️ or two ⭐️⭐️.
I love a book that delivers without a bunch of filler. This particular book is one of those. It's a leadership master piece in what I would call a "sound bite". It cuts to the chase and delivers a fabulous meal centered on a couple precise and powerful point. I will be looking into more of these little gems.
An awesome, quick program from one of the great college basketball coaches of the 2000s. His book suggestions are excellent, along with his advice on building a team and leadership. I'm committing to saying "next play" to myself when I make a mistake.
