Strategic Logic lays the foundations for a clear understanding of corporate profitability and provides the reader with innovative insights on how to develop original yet realistic strategies. Working with real-life examples and based on rigorous theory, the author analyses key managerial decisions and shows how to ensure these enhance the company's long-term profitability. Mergers and acquisitions are great opportunities for strategic development, but they can also destroyer value. The author indicates how to judge on what side a specific case will fall.
This is an absolutely incredible book, which is so illuminating simply by virtue of its clear exposition and logically derived conclusions. I was of the opinion before that on the topic of investing, it’s likely to be a financial mind that really adds value, but I have changed my mind. This is quite easily the second best book I have read in terms of value-addition to my career. I am extremely grateful to the author that he has graced us with a true gem, worth more than a diamond in my opinion.
The books has profound insights on corporate strategy. After reading it you will be able to analyze far better the current situation of an industry, the competitive advantages of any business and understand which “corporate movements” ( Like M&A or vertical integration) could create value or destroy it.
Also the book is full of useful real examples that helped me to understand every topic.(eBay, Apple, Toyota, Microsoft, among others)
Does anyone know any other similar book? I would like keep reading about competitive advantages, industry’s and business models. ( I’ve read competition demystified and the little book that builds wealth)
The majority of this book's insights are rather undifferentiated when compared to other books on competition, yet the disaggregation of industry evolution (technological/regulatory/demand) is worth a skim
