Blood Mafia: The Complete Trilogy

Rate this book
I killed a wolf shifter to save my life…Turns out I just condemned myself to a fate even worse than death. An elite group of vampires known as the Blood Mafia decide to make me their test subject… or their play thing. It seems they can’t decide what they want from me or even what I am.They say I’m special, that I’m not a human at all, but they also refuse to give me any more answers until I submit. I never was very good at doing what I’m told.Especially since all three vampires want me to warm their beds. Truth be told, I actually want them, too. But could giving into my body’s desires distract me from finding the truth about what I am? And would giving in to them mean permanently bonding myself to this dark allegiance?

I just can’t stand to listen to another word said by this narrator. Her male voices gave me secondhand embarrassment. Not only does she use the same voice for three very different men, it is also a very, very ridiculous one. Every time Mateo said “babygurrrrrl” it was like nails on a chalkboard.

The horrible narration also took away from the writing, because it was so distracting. I had to stop at times, consider what was said, and then think about how I felt about the banter. It made this listening experience exhausting.

I can’t comment a lot about the story itself because, again, horribly distracting narrator. But I will say I was not exactly impressed with some of the writing, such as:
Mateo’s skin is a few shades darker than Colt’s and Grayson’s, more Italian coloring than German or English.
I don’t know where the author is from, but my life experience with people this concerned about skin tone and the fucking stupid generalization of what the skin color of any nationality is like hasn’t been the best.
He seemed to think I’m a little spicy, but I am half-Latina so I can’t say I’m surprised.
As a full-blooded Latina: 🙄

Not to mention every time she swears with “Judas Priest!” Authors should read back their own books out loud to consider how that shit sounds repeated constantly outside of one’s brain.

I enjoyed the series started out with a woman who was cheated on, out dancing away her worries, suddenly she takes a wrong turn and she's in a vampire verse shifter fight. She kills a shifter with her dagger 🗡
She's very stabby after that and her inner monologue is hilarious sometimes. She thinks herself psycho and so do the three Vamps who want in her...literally in her 😏
They also figured out what she is, because she's not human, but she has to stay to find out what she is. The story follows her discovery of who she is and who she loves and how she loves. It's beautifully written, you want to hate the Mafia but it's not easy to do, you do end up hating Jerry and his croons!

But I felt a little deflated at the end. Yes it was a nice read but when I saw it was coming to the end and to get out of the underworld with Mateyo alive, Demi traded a piece of her soul which ended meaning her first born.
Suddenly I'm looking at Rory Miles books to see if there is a sequence or another series...saw nothing I could connect it with....then it was only mentioned once...so her first born. Can Vampire's even have kids with hunters!!! I thought they were undead and...well no questions or worry about such a serious thing to pledge....and no she's not pregnant at the end. That left a sting because it's just not all tied up. One point I thought she was seeing Lacy to see if there is a way out of the deal...noPe

Besides that it's a good series, steamy steamy need a cold shower moments. There's also sass, action and death.

Oh! Whatever did happen to Jerry and Daniel?
So 4.7 stars....

I didn’t want it to end

Rory Miles has created a sassy kick-butt female main character that finds herself drawn to three men she shouldn’t want. Be prepared to turn stabby on your own when you reach the end of the book because it was so exciting I didn’t want it to end. I would love to see a future book about Demi’s deal and how it is fulfilled.

I read this book with my Kindle Unlimited subscription and I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.

Great Vampire read

I was in the mood for a vampire read and this really nailed it. I love the fmc and the way she grows into her powers. I really liked the guys and the way they care about and desire the fmc. The one thing I will say to the negative is that I did feel a bit thrown for a loop about the "first born" clause. There wasn't any resolution there and that left me with a ton of questions but no answers coming apparently. I would have preferred a plot point that big not be left unresolved.

This is a fantastic series! Demi is seriously da bomb! I love her take no crap attitude, her snark, her bloodthirstyness, and her all around fabulousness! And honestly, the guys, wow! Can you say yummy!

This series has a terrific storyline and stellar characters! The world building and character development are amazing! I highly recommend this series and am looking forward to more stories from this “world”!

In Blood Mafia, Demi kills a wolf shifter and ends up tangled with three dangerously seductive vampires. They want her in their bed, but she wants answers about her mysterious origins. Dark, thrilling, and packed with tension, this trilogy will keep you hooked!

Expect plenty of heat and steamy moments with her irresistible vampire captors! Perfect for dark, paranormal romance fans with a fierce heroine and intense chemistry!

Brilliant read. Love this series.
Demi is a human trying to get in a supernatural world. dating a shifter has its perks, but also its downsides... especially coming home and finding him shagging a pixie. But her friend Lexi will not let this get her down and take her clubbing to lift her spirits, until she gets in the way of the blood mafia.
these are brilliant books. well worth the read.

loved it!

I always rank my favs by how much I like the mfc and Demi is such a bad ass chic! This series will be added to my reread list. This is a perfect example of Demi’s crazy, “Last night Van Helsing slaughtered an entire regime of vampires with his friends, and I dreamed of doing the same to Mateo, Colt, and Grayson, maniacally laughing as I lit them all on fire.”

So intense!

Watching Demi fall for Gray was sweet. Watching her fall for Colt was spicy. Watching her fight her feelings for Mateo was the best! This series is amazing. Action in and out of the bedroom tops it all off.

Quite enjoyable to read. I really hate that one part where she made the deal. But i guess it does set up another story. Still kinda sad.

Good read

Enjoyable read, first book is a bit monotonous but it kicks up when the story gets going in book two. The author has left scope for more books / spinoff book.
