I love this book! I've read it at least 3 times, but it's different from any other horse book I've ever read. Based on Ms. Dillon's experiences running a real riding school, it's full of both commonsense information and adventures. Wonderful pictures and a quiz at the end of each chapter. It's nonfiction written in a fictional story of students at a riding school--how they develop, go to shows, hunt, etc. Some of the real-life students that the fictional students were based on grew up to be famous riders. Some of the information is now dated, but most of it is still very usable today. Absolutely wonderful!
