Part 2 of Reign of the Ancients from the Fantasy-Adventure Series "The Onis Chronicles"

The Dragons:
Broken and shattered after her confrontation with the Great Silver Monarch Dragon, the young elf maiden is forced to put the pieces of herself back together. Realizing that healing the land of Onis will require a much greater effort than facing one dragon, the friends must devise a plan to strengthen their efforts and recruit whomever they can to join their cause. They embark on a journey that will take them to the far reaches of Onis and the far reaches of their minds as they grow into the beings they were meant to become while discovering why they were drawn to the strange young elf to begin with. As the elf maiden struggles to recover from her encounter with the Great Aeris, she must now race against time to learn how she can become the powerful Omi Méa that Onis needs her to be without losing herself in the process.

Reign of the Ancients Series:
A war between the ancient dragons of Onis and the elves has been raging for nearly a millennium, but the dragons' hatred of the two-leggeds is spilling over to all the races, including the humans, dwarves, and drow. As the tyranny of the ancient dragons terrorizes all the two-leggeds into hiding, the very land of Onis is dying around them. After a thousand years of war, a prophesied elf with great power is sent to confront the ancients and restore the land in a quest for peace between all the races. Will she overcome the dragons' hatred and fulfill her destiny? Or will the land face an even greater danger yet to come?

This book has it all! As their adventure continues, the main characters continue to grow. Each one is faced with new challenges, heartbreak, success and failure, as well as building their bonds. Every chapter in this book is filled with action and intrigue. It is hard to put down! I cant wait to continue this story with #3!

I waited along time it seemed to get this book and then I didn’t want to read it because I knew I would just go right through it and I did
Just as the first book I couldn’t put it down it just kept up the imagination and suspense I loved the first book but I feel that this one was even better then it was
Hard to imagine that it could be but it was.
The images that the writer created in your mind of the country, towns and creatures was just overwhelming
Not to mention the songs and battle scenes
I’m anxiously waiting for the third series to be released
I’m sure you will enjoy this series

This series has swept me away so far and i thought book 2 was quite frankly brilliant. Despite a common theme of a protagonist meant to save the world, there is nothing common about ‘Reign of the ancients’. With book 2, the author has managed to keep me on my feet with its unique plot and twists I truly could not have seen coming. Her writing and attention to even the little details is quite incredible. I really enjoyed all the extra touches like the languages, their own sayings, and song. And I feel like I’m right there with the characters on their journey. I don’t want to give any spoilers of this highly imaginative story, but basically there’s a lot more story development than the first book and a lot more…wait for it….dragons! I have no doubt I’ll be reading both books 1 and 2 again as I impatiently wait for book 3’s release. This truly is an epic tale of the finest and one that I believe could be really big one day if the right person discovers it. Thank you RE for the incredible adventure so far. I can’t wait for the next book!

Another fabulous read from RE Davies as the companions continue on their quest to unite the land of Onis. The Elves, Drow, Humans and Dwarves will have to stand together if they are to defeat the Dragons but for now, we only have one of each. Not exactly what you would call an army but determination to succeed and the fact that the elf girl is the prophesied Omi Mea who is the one to succeed in achieving the impossible, enriches the story a hundredfold. The development of each character is meticulous and we come to know them like old friends. The world building is detailed and very Imaginative and the pace is such that you simply can't stop at the end of a chapter due to wanting so badly to find out what happens next. The dialogue is rich with a well developed plot, engaging scenes and one helluva quest to accomplish. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants a truly good Epic read. Definitely worth every one of the five star rating I gave it. EK

📚 Reign of the Ancients: Part 2: The Dragons (The Onis Chronicles - A Fantasy Adventure Series) by R.E.Davies

✨My Rating:-9.9/10

📚My Review:- Have you heard about " The Onis Chronicles- A Fantasy Adventure " book series ? Hello dear readers, i'm back with an amazing book review penned down by the author R.E.Davies. This book is basically the second book in " The Onis Chronicles- A Fantasy Adventure " book series. As i've read the first book, i'm having huge expectations from this one too. A war between the ancient dragons of Onis and the elves has been raging for nearly millennium, but the dragons hatred of the two leggeds spilling over to all the races. Following the death of the Earth Mother, the One Mother, of Onis Caelis, the land of Onis will endure a great suffering. Valleys and streams will dry, becoming cracked and barren. The soil will spoil the harvests, leaving wilted crops and famine throughout. The hatred and anger between the races will grow as they struggle to survive, blaming one another for destruction of the land, and the Reign of the Ancients will be like no other, full of wrath and vengeance. When the land of Onis and it's people have endured their sufferings, there will be born of an elf a Great Spirit who will unite the races. The spirit will engage all the races and will know no boundaries between them. As that elf maiden struggles to recover from her encounter with the great Aries, she must now race against time to learn how she can become the powerful Ome Mea that Onis needs her to be without losing herself in the process. What do you think the elf would be successful in doing so ? Or will end up falling in any sort of trouble ? Turn the pages to know what happens next in the story. The author just tried to keep it simple as it could be which makes it a engaging read. Have discovered the joy of R.E.Davies books quite late in my life but glad I did.Cover of the book is simple designed in a decent manner. Overall, the language used in the book is simple and lucid. Moreover, the author had maintained a clean and interesting content to read.

Middle book suffer from the common syndrome that it will be compared to the first AND that it will have no resolution except to set things up for Book three. Fortunately R.E. Davies has done a good job of doing the set up. From the cliff hanger ending of book one she picks up the story and continues the adventures of Laila and her band as they try to get support and alliances to combat the dragons AND heal the land. My one complaint is that it feels a bit railroady at times. She gets to places just in time to further the story. BUT in her defense there is a prophecy about reuniting the races and healing the land so it makes sense, just as it makes sense that there will be those who deny the prophecy and will oppose her. Unlike the first book, this one does not end in a cliff hanger, but with a sense that things will be resolved.

Note also this book goes with the idea that as things get serious, sacrifices will be made and it will be necessary to kill or be killed. You may feel that your opponents are just misguided, but they are fully prepared to kill you, so, like in the Untouchables, they place you in the hospital, you place them in the morgue!

4 stars (barely, because I want to see how this ends)

Part 2 of this epic fantasy did not disappoint!

In order to recover from the extensive damage inflicted by the Silver Monarch, Laila falls into a deep coma. The same entity that has been visiting her in sleep, now invades her dreams giving her much needed answers and confidence to face the battle ahead. With time now against them, the band of warriors race to meet the other dragons to bolster their strength in the war. They fight many enemies along the way, and in the midst of their travels come across a mysterious village, revealing ancient magic and secrets which cement their bond, belief in Laila and any doubt about their roles within the war. Laila finally makes a decision about where her heart truly lies with regards to the dark elf and the human to dangerous effect. As their magical powers grow they all make important alliances, but no-one can stop the casualties of war as someone near & dear to them is lost. However, the dragons are coming and they must do everything they can to prepare for the fight of all fights.

Audiobook: I enjoyed book two as much as the first one. I was amazed by the complexity of the worldbuilding. I enjoyed the creative and unusual creatures which populated this detailed fantasy. I liked Laila and her friends. I felt for the group of friends as they traveled throughout the whole of Onis and struggled to recruit others to their cause. I admired their courage and their drive to succeed in spite of all the obstacles they faced. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. I was entertained by Aaron Smith's narration as his performance kept my attention. I appreciated R. E. Davies' additions to the narrative performance. I was given a copy of the audiobook. I volunteered, without financial gain, to post this review which reflected my honest opinions regarding this audiobook.

After waiting several months for the next installment in this series I was not disappointed. It was nonstop action from beginning to end. Every time you think you know where the story is going it takes a turn you didn’t see coming. And the characters personalities really bring the book to life. They aren’t perfect people, and they aren’t trying to be. I love their senses of humor.
I’m really curious what happened in Pynar and hope the author touches more on that later. Seems like there could be a lot of answers there, or even more questions.
Eagerly awaiting book 3!

The tension increases as the elf maiden and her small group of elf, dwarf and human companions journey across Onis to gather the support of their communities and of the dragons in preparation for their battle with the powerful and angry dragon Aeris. The fascinating love story between Laila and the Dark Elf is developed, and light, sometimes comic relief is provided by the dwarf couple. Unexpected twists and turns to the plot kept me guessing and hoping, and eager to read the continuation of the story in Part Three.

Together! I just had to read this exciting second part in one go. Addicted. The author has mastered the art of taking the reader on a journey for peace. I like it when friendship is more important than one's own well-being, when a group of individuals form a unit. Difficulties are part of the task of achieving the goal
The narrator does an incredible job of giving the characters expression and telling the story with feeling

Hmm

All I can say is the MC continues to be stupidly naive, and she keeps making stupid decisions. The land seems to be incredibly small despite how long it took to travel to lochlann in book1.

“Reign of the Ancients: The Dragons” was so much fun to write. With much of the world-building and character introduction established in Part 1, I was able to dive deeper into the story and cover a lot more ground with its development. In this installment, we learn a lot more about our group of cohorts and why they are all connected. We also see a lot more development in the characters themselves. As much as I loved Part 1, I have to admit that Part 2 is definitely my favorite! At least until Part 3 is finished, then I may stand corrected. I have received similar feedback from my beta readers as well, so I genuinely think that you will not regret it should you decide to continue the journey. Please remember to leave a rating/review if you do. As a new author, each one helps tremendously to help spread the word. I look forward to hearing your feedback and hope to see you in Onis again soon!

Laila and her companions continue on their quest to bring all the clans together to help restore the lands but not without trials and lost. The characters are bonded with their dragons and the story is getting a lot more intense. It will keep you reading to the end. Another fantastic story in the series. Real page turner.
